good morning gals!

splish i totally understand how a moment like that makes you wonder
and feel just a wee bit sad. its one of the main reasons we've been in no rush
for ds2 to arrive (ie. no pineapple, stopped regular sex, denying the sweeps).
we're just happy to enjoy the time we have with ds1 for the moment. i think to someone
else reading that, they might think: well, then why are you having another child??
its not like that at all, im sure you all agree! the dynamic will change but i suspect
the new family dynamic will be a positive experience for us all .
OH also, im a wimp as well...i couldn't do much other than shiver and shake & throw up with nerves
while waiting to walk into theatre for ds1's elective. hehehe

sage my ds will be 2 tomorrow and there's a good chance ds2 will have the same bday!
((of course, its all dependent on todays appt with the consult (who also is one of the surgeons
who perform C/s at the hosp)). i probably haven't thought about this thoroughly,
but at the moment, i don't think it would be such a bad thing sharing the same birthday.
of course, we'll have one big party in september and it will probably be stressful with 2 age-groups
in the future...i reckon it's down to us as parents to teach them
that they are both very special because they get to share the day. ((yes im sure this will
alllll change when they get older but again, its a small thing, IMO.
but again, i could possibly just feel this way now and it may change as they grow older...

now, on the other hand, pitufina, sharing a bday with the mommy would be something completely different!
so, keep 'em closed, hun! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

MunkiMom · 24/09/2008 09:04

in a couple hours, im off to the hospital with dh for my internal and as the doc says "have a little chat" about the options to get ds2 out soon.

this morning, i woke with the usual lower pelvic soreness, fell over trying to put on pajama bottoms ((luckily, i was standing very near the wall so i caught myself)).

also, as mentioned in the recent posts, i've been experiencing the swelling hands this past week. and this morning, my right palm and the bottoms of my feet are terribly itchy!!!
i remember looking into this earlier on in pregnancy because i had itchy skin (but that was just cos it was stretching) but i recall reading something about there being concern when the itchiness is on the palms/underfoot! will definitely be reporting that today!!!

righty, must get ds1 and myself ready ( while DH is having a lay-in)) grrrr.

take care ladies! will report back later!
splish perhaps its your day????

plusonemore · 24/09/2008 09:21

I feel like you're all leaving me! Lets all agree on a date and have the rest of the babies on that day!

Its occurred to me that this might be my last day just me as ds goes to nursery monday to wednesday and I'm due on Monday. I really should make the most of it but will probably just lie infront of tv again! Although that is making the most of it really as its not gonna happen uninterrupted again for a while!

Good luck with your appointment munki hope you get the result you want!

plusonemore · 24/09/2008 09:27

Also we really must think of a new thread title- unless we just give up and go over to the post natal thread?

hopefully · 24/09/2008 09:39

hurry up and give birth and come over to the post natal thread! i find myself missing the regular posters from here!

Hope SplishSplosh doesn't mind me jumping in with her birth announcement before the thread closes!

Ahem [clears throat], ladies please raise your glasses/coffee cups to toast the safe arrival of baby Splosh at 2.15am.

Splishsplosh was awesome.

Baby Splosh is very, very gorgeous indeed - will hold back on sex, birthweight, and all interesting details so SplishSplosh can tell you herself when she gets home.

Kagey · 24/09/2008 10:21

plusonemore · 24/09/2008 10:34

congtrats splish and kagey foxy i love the new title! feel like posting 39 more messages just to get it started!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 24/09/2008 11:03

Great title Foxy

sagecat · 24/09/2008 11:23

Congratulations kagey and Splishsplosh. Splish that was a very quick birth hope everything went smoothly

Well i've been having HB all night although slept fine through most of them. Still going this morning - not painful though and not regular but got back pain too. Probably nothing - put DD into nursery though for extra day today as really don't think I could handle her. The last couple of weeks she has become more grouchy and tearful - probably because i really cannot do all the things we normally do together - feeling guilty about that but hopfully once babe is here i can at least move around properly and take her out again

foxytocin · 24/09/2008 11:31

oh yes, and congratulations too, kagey. no,

jennylindinha · 24/09/2008 12:13

Ooh, more babies! Congratulations SplishSplosh and Kagey!!!

Hang in there Sagecat - you should definitely take the chance to get some rest and not feel guilty 'cos that baby will be out soon enough. I'm sure your DD will be fine running round at nursery. When I see my sister with her two LOs I wonder how she does it!!! (She often has to put them in an extra day now and then as she is working freelance and it's a rest, quite frankly )

Foxy, I love the new thread title!

mellabella · 24/09/2008 13:51

Wow, has taken me a while to catch up with everyone. Congrats to everyone for their new arrivals!! All of the birth stories are so lovely and after going through it myself I have such an admiration for everyone! We're pretty amazing aren't we?

James has been a champ feeder and is a very chilled out baby. He's an absolute joy and I would go through allll of it again in a heartbeat. Love him to pieces!

Labour dust to everyone and I can't wait to keep on hearing the stories!

becaroo · 24/09/2008 14:27

Hello ladies...Well, I have some news....I am officially in labour!!!!

Lost some of my waters at 10.30pm last night. Rang hospital and they said I could either go in straight away and get checked or wait til this morning at MAU. I opted for the morning appointment.

They were a bit worried at first because the babys heart rate was dipping with each contraction and didnt seem to be tolerating them very well. On examination I was 3cms dilated They sent me round to labour suite and I was monitored again for about an hour but they were much happier with the trace and said as I was only in early labour I could go up onto the ward or go home - so I am now home. Have to take my temp every 4 hours to check for infection.

Getting regular contractions but not too bad...might get the TENS out later on. FIL taking ds to macdonalds for his tea so I dont have to cook

If nothing happens then I still have my appointment for induction tomorrow morning anyway, but just had a shower and lost some bloody gunk so am taking that as a good sign.

Leonie Hope you are bouncing away on that ball!!!

mum2bagain · 24/09/2008 14:35

wow becaroo can't wait to hear some more.

I went to the midwife for my so called last appointment this morning - and now I feel more pissed off than ever. With being 2 days over my EDD I thought she would give me some words of encouragement seeing as I felt so down about still being pregnant - but the opposite. She told me head is 4/5 engaged, which doesn't mean a lot, but also said that he's far too active to be wanting to go anywhere at the moment and said she reckons another week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made another appointment for next wed and she said she'll take it from there if I make it. Plus it's DS2's 10th birthday next Thursday (2nd Oct) and I will be devastated if it happens then and he has to share his birthday with baby. sorry for the moan. [sad}

potxola · 24/09/2008 14:35

Becaroo am soooo exited for you. have a good one!!!!!!!
I just love yor story mamamuffin well done!
Pitufina Happy birthday!
Congratulations SplishSplosh, Kagey,

Flumpytigger · 24/09/2008 15:20

Mum2bagain, I'm shocked by how unhelpful your midwife has been.
Unless you've already said no, should she not be discussing options such as a sweep anytime from now and an induction if you go 10 days over? May be worth calling her and explaining more about how you feel etc and finding out the options?

Wow Becaroo great news! Hope everything goes well..
It might be our time now as Mel has gone quiet since her sweep yesterday. I also had mine yesterday, apparently I was 2cm dilated and consultant could feel the babies head. I have had a couple of shows today. So fingers crossed we'll be announcing our birth announcements before we know it... eeeeeeek!

Dh was laughing at me last night because I was shuffling around the house. He said it looked like I was trying to keep baby in and did I think baby might just fall out now I'd had the sweep

Congrats to all the new mummies! Splish, it sounds like you had such a quick labour - I hope everything was ok.
Speaking as a 'mum to be' I can't wait to hear all of your birth stories, they're both motvating and inspiring! Keep'em coming

xx

Flumpytigger · 24/09/2008 15:21

Also, great title Foxy!

Pidge · 24/09/2008 15:45

Ooooh splishsplosh - congratulations. Can't wait to hear of the Splosh's arrival. Thanks for letting us know Tbb!

Kagey, many congrats too. Lovely names.

becaroo - I am totally overexcited now. What fantastic news. Can't wait to hear the arrival news.

I've had a wonderful day - did battle with the supermarket, finally managed to make my bolognese - half for supper, half for the freezer, had coffee with a friend, slotted in a half hour swim and then grabbed lunch before dashing on the school run. Now about to have some rare time with dd1 alone doing some arts and crafts before we pick up dd2. I could get used to this lifestyle .... !

MunkiMom and Potxola - Thank you!!!
I'm definitely keeping my legs crossed today!
Becaroo - Glad things have started for you!!

MunkiMom · 24/09/2008 16:02

Allo All!

had my consult appt this morning. DH took the half day off to be with me, although he was in such a grumpy mood and going on about how "bad of an attitude and miserable" i've been making him over last couple weeks.

i told him if he didn't like it, he can stick it, and that he was being incredibly insensitive to the situation and to me!!! ffs! i'm terrified, scared, tired, uncomfortable! scared of labour, scared of C/s. but still, in his sometimes childish head, thats no excuse.

i'm baffled at how he just cannot comprehend or see that "hey, maybe my wife isn't at her best right now...what can i do to make her happier or more comfortable?"
instead its "I'm so badly done-to, how dare her make ME feel so miserable."

im sorry...i really am, for having to post such negativity onto this loverly happy thread of new life...and under usual circumstances, our relationship is great.
i jsut needed a place to vent, instead of telling my pals here in person...

::: sigh ::::
