Hi guys
Im back!
Congratulations to all of those with new arrivals.
Thank you for all my lovely messages.
I am so happy right now

Birth story
Popped to hospital on saturday night as I had sprung a leak. (actually sprung it days earlier so had to go to be monitored in case of infection). I was fully expecting to be sent home.
After an hour or two bed rest they completely popped! Contractions started immediately. I was examined and was not dilated. Hypnotised myself and put tens on. We had our own room and dh had a bed too. Tried to sleep between contractions.
Had a massive wobble as the pain was so bad. Did not think I could do it.
Midwife suggested drugs but I refused as I did not want to be out of it or sick.
However after a little bit I agreed on half dose of pethadine. Still felt awful pain but it relaxed me enough to dilate me to 5 cm.
Transferred to delivery and then I announced I was ready to push.
It was very hard work and very very painful, used gas and air. However, I was not frightened at this point and declared my love to my dh. The midwife was lovely and I said to her and dh right lets do this. I had a massive urges and the head kept popping out then in again. It stung like mad. I thought I am just going to have to give this my all and pushed him out. He came out pink and happy. Ive not stopped smiling since. I have a couple of stitches. Euan is gorgeous, so chilled out and feeding so well. I have to wake him to feed him as he does not cry (yet).
I would do it all again tomorrow. I think I want hundreds of babies now. I am so in love.
To all those who are waiting please dont be scared. Its such a magical wonderful happy happy experience. I feel like I am superwomen at the moment. I am truly blessed.
I dont want to brag but I am back to pre pregnancy weight too. My jeans fit better than ever. .

Thank you all for being there for me. Thinking of you all. Lots of love xx

Hello all!! Birth announcement! My beautiful, precious daughter Charlotte was born on 17 September at 3.13am weighing 7lb 15oz. I'll update the list.
I am so over the moon I can't say. Birth was a bit traumatic and certainly NOT the way I had hoped and I was in hospital for a week but the end result is Charlotte and she is wort it all and more.So gad to see lots of others became mamas in the same week, especially lollipopmother and hopefully. I'll put photos on my page and do i proper birth story soon. At the moment she is snuggled in my arms. Feeding is also not going as well as I'd hoped but I'm persevering.
I feel so privileged to have done this and to go through this all with you.
Hoping that all the pregnant people left are doing well and that any first timers are reassured that, oh boy, it all sooooo worth it!

Ooooh, lovely stories...you are all so amazing and brave!

leonie I am getting those ouchie feelings too but nothing happening Feel lots of pressure in my bottom too for some reason Perhaps I just need a poo!!!

The look of disappointment on the faces of the other mothers at school at pcik up time every day is very disheartening!

Only 1 text today though and no phone calls yet so not too bad.

Been for a walk round the supermarket this eveing - maybe that will help start things off?

LittleConnie · 23/09/2008 19:28

Thanks for all the lovely wishes... just graduating myself

MelT76 · 23/09/2008 19:33

Congrats all the new mummies.

We've not heard from Kitsmummy and Ellideb for ages now but I bet they've had babies too, so I think that makes us next Becaroo and Flumpy!

I've been having cramps and back pain since 12.30 (2hrs after sweep) and very yucky show too. Can a sweep work this quickly?

ninja · 23/09/2008 19:50

thanks leonie. it's good to hear you more positive

splishsplosh · 23/09/2008 19:50

Congratulations Ninja, Ipanemagirl, Imoscarsmum, Littleconnie - hope I haven't missed anyone out - some lovely stories

Only downside is all the nice names are being taken! I know that sounds weird, but more of my possibilities are popping up now like Miranda, Eva Rose... I'll feel like I've been copying even though these were on my lists!

Went to the dr today, when i said I could have thrush, or wasn't sure if just pregnancy thing causing so much discharge, she said "oh, are you pregnant" - bit worrying she couldn't spot my bump! Anyway she did a swab in case it was strep b and it was pretty painful - I'm thinking it's not good i'm being so wimpy about that when I have labour pain to cope with soon

Well, better get off and start trying to lug some things around to make room for this kitchen to fill up the sitting room (currently full of most of our belongings) - I'm sure you are all most jealous of the fun packed evening I have before me - on top of that poor dd was sick in her buggy on the way home today, and is really hot, not feeling well, so hope she doesn't have a horrid night of waking / vomiting etc

ninja · 23/09/2008 19:52

mamamufin it's amazing how it can be so painful yet so worth it!

Pitufina · 23/09/2008 21:10

Wonderful birth stories girl. Congratulations to you all. I hope you're all having a lovely rest with baby in arms. I can't wait!

Pidge · 23/09/2008 21:33

Just checked in before getting another early night and there's another flood of beautiful birth stories to read. Well done all of you. Lovely to read them in all their variety. Enjoy getting to know your babies.

sagecat · 23/09/2008 22:25

Well done and congratulations Littleconnie, Ipanema and Ninja, hope you are all enjoying your little ones

Munki - Sometimes I worry about not loving the new baby as much as i love my DD, but have to tell myself that i will and that everyone else appears to manage. Although I have decided that i'm simply not going to manage a baby and toddler

plusonemore · 23/09/2008 22:44

well, had bout half an hour of really horrible pains coming and going every few minutes (didnt time them) but they have gone away now. really thought it was it for a bit!

MunkiMom · 23/09/2008 22:57

{{{{{{{{should be avoid filling this thread like the last one and start a new one very soon??}}}}}}}}}}}}}

any preferences on the title??

Huge congrats to all the new moms~!
and thanks to everyone who posted the birth stories!
its incredible how different each and everyone one of you are
experiences have been! its frightfully amazing .

IL2MIMI i havent forgot about ya! im going to post the recipe!! i will!!
((just not at the moment, cos i'm going to attempt to catch up on my little sleep from last night.

splish uhhh, "are you pregnant??" ARE YOU kidding me???
((its a little funny, but saddo of the gp to no already know this
upon your arrival from just seeing you OR looking at your
records!!!)) its horrible!

sage i've heard the same fears from other 2nd time mums so its not just us, i know.
and i think its only a wee bit natural for us to have these feelings.
now, the managing of 2 small people?? oh dear!

MunkiMom · 23/09/2008 23:17

i meant: "should We avoid..."

splishsplosh · 23/09/2008 23:54

Munki / sagecat - I've been feeling quite sad today at the thought of it soon not being just me and dd - she'd fallen asleep in her buggy while we were out, and I'd sat down for a coffee - when she woke up she came onto my lap for a cuddle, and was dozing back off cuddled into me... I just felt quite tearful at how things might change with a new one. I'm sure it'll all work out....

splishsplosh · 24/09/2008 00:12

I thought I heard a little pop just now, and now I have a bit of dripping going on - with dd, it was quite a noticeable gush - I got out of bed, and left a trail behind me - but this isn't as definite....

No pains, tho my back aches, but then i was shifting boxes around earlier, and dragging an exercise bike outside, so I don't think that's evidence.

I feel so unprepared! Maybe it's nothing though, and just my mega discharge fooling me!

I'm such a wimp, I'm feeling all shivery with nerves now

sagecat · 24/09/2008 00:14

My DD will be 3yrs old on the 29th i'm just hoping that babe will not arrive then - it would be terrible if they had to share a birthday! Most people think it would be great but i would feel terrible for DD.

sagecat · 24/09/2008 00:30

Splishsplosh Its a bit scary when you think things are finally about to happen. Everyone seems to say no.2 is easier to get out and this time you know what to expect afterwards. Take it easy and best of luck

splishsplosh · 24/09/2008 00:35

Am getting pains now, quite close together, now where's that contraction timer????????

Last time was pretty brisk at 5hrs from first twinge to delivery so may be here soon!

(or may be just big false alarm!)

p is out as well, says he's on way back but better hurry, don't fancy trying to find childcare for dd at this time of night

sagecat · 24/09/2008 00:46

Splishsplosh Are you planning a home birth? give the MWs a call and I suggest you try and find a babysitter

sagecat - I know what you mean about them sharing birthdays. I don't particularly want to share my birthday with the baby if it arrives today! I'm keeping my legs crossed! I wonder if everyone thinks I'm selfish for saying that!?
Oh splishsplosh - I hope it's happening for you! Thinking of you!
