New thread ladies

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2008 20:36

I'm pretty sure the poster who started having a go at me was actually the OP who had originally changed name. I made the cardinal mistake of not refreshing the screen before I posted, during which time the OP had apologised and then this seemingly random poster started slagging me off, when I said the same thing (albeit more eruditely ) as about a hundred other posters.

no one calls me a fool and gets away with it.

sparkletoes · 03/09/2008 20:41

FFS Lacks that sounds even worse than the people I mentioned! Poor you. Hugs x

vbab78 · 03/09/2008 20:43

lacks - LOL at those shoes. Honestly could you imagine "Cher" in her ones strutting her stuff!

up north/middle get together. Thought if no one objects might start a separate thread? Just me being me I am finding it hard to remember who has said they are interested in meeting up, where they are from, suggestions and dates etc. Shall I do it?

Since starting my leave Monday (31wks) just seem to want to crash and burn. But no chance of that with DS to look after. Also had my mum walking me for miles Mon-Wed this week for an outfit for a family wedding in Scotland. Yesterday, whilst following mum around, felt really ill like I could collapse or throw up or all of the above. At 1 point I thought could I be in slow labour?! I remembered that a friend of mine said with 1 of her kids she had been out shopping all day feeling poorly and was in labour. I think maybe I had a stomach bug but a lot I think has to do with my lack of food and it being c**p when I do eat. Just have no appetite for "proper" food.

secret stork - Got my email too and really excited but just hope don't disappoint. Sorry for being a little thick but do we say whom the present is from or is it "secret" as the name suggests? Can't believe I just asked that!

vbab78 · 03/09/2008 20:44

choc - love the nursery. but so of how sorted you are. just had my nursery plastered so far and not bought anything.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 03/09/2008 20:53

Lacks I find all these rules about what you should spend on parties/wear to pick your children up from school/etc.etc completely baffling.

Good on you for standing up for yourself, some people are just plain rude.

vbab please don't start worrying about the secret stork presents- I think it's just a bit of fun

A meet up thread might be a good idea, especially if people are going to fill this one with chat about their cat

LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2008 21:02

we have all kissed and made up....but I have her number

MerryMarigold · 03/09/2008 21:56

Lacka, that thread about where to put my tumble dryer and extra freezer - and the charming woman said I was 'panicking' and that I didn't need 2 freezers!!! Ummm...did I ask her opinion on my emotional state? Does she know how big my current freezer is? Does she know ANYTHING about my lifestyle?! I thought I was very restrained considering! SOME people .

Can relate to Lacka, Dozy and other who are having a hard time with kids. I am hoping playschool starts tomorrow, pleeease. Sometimes ds doesn't mean it and I still get exasperated with him (I think EVERY SINGLE time he has a drink he drops the cup all over the floor, or himself, or tonight milk over brand, clean pj's).

Barbs - that midwife was a nightmare. In my current mood she would have got an earful from me. Wonder if it was the same one who saw me through most of my labour. She was a total jobsworth too (who couldn't give a stuff about me or the baby), and resulted in a very difficult delivery for me. Not to put you off Whipps. I am there this time too. The midwife who actually delivered my baby was a total gem. It's the luck of the draw, you will get good ones and bad ones wherever you go, I think, so opted for Whipps because the parking isn't too bad!

Pinky - I LOVE Miriam (we can't have it, surname begins 'Em'). I met a girl who was Miri for short and have loved it ever since, what a great nickname. Also, on the French theme, have a friend called Manon, which is nice, but probably English people will say it wrong all the time.

Getting scared about secret stork now!

Pinky, can you give me the link to your shop/blog thingy again please?

Yeah, people like my name

Oh dear lacks, poor you and DS falling out and then DD falling down.

LackaDAISYcal · 03/09/2008 22:07

lol merryM...I didn't notice that post

PInkyminkyohnooo · 03/09/2008 23:48

HEHE well I've been thinking about getting another freezer, if that helps, Merry! Trying to work out if the money saved on extra batch cooking would outway the power costs. Bit of a dilemma.

Twinkling, blog thingy here not put anything new up on it, hoping to do it next week.. rapidly running out of energy, though!

Beaches · 03/09/2008 23:54

Evening everyone, just scanned through the thread quickly as it has been a hectic day!

What a mean midwife, and did no-one on the bus offer to help, honestly some people

I had a midwife appt at half eleven today, was not seen untill one forty By which point I was hungry, thirsty, sore and very disapointed, oh well, went to cinema with dp tonight to cheer me up

Hope you ladies are all having a nice evening!! Bought the sweetest little pink socks today... Only eight weeks four days to go to blast off

LackaDAISYcal · 04/09/2008 09:32

bleargh. It's been the night from hell chez daisy.

SPD was really bad last night and I couldn't get comfortable or to sleep. Finally drifted off after 1:30 and then Dd woke up at 3ish shouting on her "baby". I had to get up, find it and bring it to her, then she wouldn't go black to sleep and was shouting for a cuddle. cuddled her in the chair in her room for half an hour till I got cold, and she was awake the whole time. Screamed when I put her back in her cot. I tried leaving her but she was shaking the bars and screeching. More cuddles in the chair; more screams in the cot. took her in my bed and she settled beside me, but still awake for about half an hour. I must've nodded off at one point and got woken up by a dolly smacked around the head. Back to her bed, and I let her shout it out until she fell asleep.....at just after 5! Managed to get some sleep but DS was uo at 7, then i snoozed till 8. DD has been a grump since she got up at 8:15 and she is back in her cot and still screaming. I can't even see straight.

ChocOrange05 · 04/09/2008 09:37

Morning all!

Hana / Twinkling Isadora was one of my name suggestions - and its up for grabs as we have already used it for our cats name! We pronounce it Iss a door a.

Kerri we have a stats list page as well which tells you everyones bump details, if you add your details to here I can update the list with you on it. LouiseSJ / Beaches I don't think yours are on there either if you want me to add them?

I have also added a recipe that I made up and cooked last night to the recipes thread

Kerri1983 · 04/09/2008 10:08

Hi ChocO, it is my first, I don't know if it is a girl or boy and my due date is 24/11/08.

Thanks

LadyBuzz · 04/09/2008 10:09

Lacks hugs to you I am in the same boat, DS seemed to perk up no end yesterday unitl he had a bath, he was crying and then started to shiver really badly and he kept saying he was really sick, He got very sleepy so he went to bed but was up again and about 2ish sobbing and holding his ears, he was boiling hot and didn't settle until nearly 5. Finally got back to sleep and then DH got uo at 6.30. I'm shattered! Think I may have to get the antibiotics for him as he seems to be getting worse.
I'll be with you in very tired spirit today

OP posts:
Pinkali37 · 04/09/2008 10:12

Choc - I also make a twist on the Jamie Oliver Wild Mushroom Risotto, the garlic can be so strong sometimes I have to be careful when I feed it DH, but it is one of his favourites.

MerryMarigold · 04/09/2008 10:13

Oh Lacka, that's bad. I forget you have SPD, you are generally so cheery and busy. Can you have a nap when dd has one? I always nap in the afternoon for 2 hours.

I slept badly too, but mostly because my knees and pelvis ache and wake me up (, and then I realise I need the loo, then realise I am thirsty and have some water. Usually go about 7x per night . Last night ds came into bed with me, he's been a bit clingy, I think because he starts playschool again today. He went in fine though, which was a relief and remembered where everything was.

Pinky, it's not just cost saving to batch cook, but also time saving. Less shopping time (buy bulk) and less cooking time. Well, that's the theory. Hope I actually do it now!

ceebee74 · 04/09/2008 10:21

Daisy and Ladybuzz - sorry you both had bad nights - there is nothing worse than feeling knackered when you still have a life to get on with I am very tired too but it is completely of my own making as I stayed up until after midnight last night watching Andy Murray

Dozymare · 04/09/2008 10:34

moring all daisy and ladybuzz must be a full moon or something as I was up for a wee about 1ish (couldn't get back to sleep as DH snoring) then DS2 woke at 4am shouting "shark shark"....sat with him for 30mins on chair in his room then oput him down and he went NUTS....woke up DS1 and they both ended up in the bed with me whilst DH slept in DS1 bed.........faffing around until 5:40am until eventually woken by alam at 7am for first day off school....very tired and emotional I have to say!!!

My SPD is also very very bad at the moment, am taking co-drdamol but feel really bad as they are so storng.....not a good day

LackaDAISYcal · 04/09/2008 10:36

ladybuzz, sounds like it might be an ear infection or something; I'd get him checked out in case.

DD has gone back to sleep, but I've had some stuff to do, including shouting at DH as he hasn't filled in the paternity stuff on time (why is it always ME who has to check these things; it's his leave, his job and his employer) so will probably lose his entitlement to paid leave , and I have a MW appointment at 11:15 and then the physio at 1:30. and I haven't managed to get a sitter for DD so will have to take a grumpy baby with me to what is going to be a group appointment (I will be popular). Either that or cancel and reschedule and go to bed for that hour. DS will be a nightmare to deal with if I'm tired and grumpy.

Ah well, a shower will just have to make me feel better.

Catch you all later. Hope DS is OK LB

MerryMarigold · 04/09/2008 10:40

Dozy and Ladybuzz, sorry for your bad nights too. I think there are lots of 'back to school' vibes in the air which are disturbing the auras! Hope ds1 (and you) are ok with the first day of school thing. I have been dying for him to back to playschool and then when he ran off to play and left me quite happily I felt so alone .

Dozy, can't imagine how wearing it must be to be in pain all the time. Please get some rest while boys at school, have a good cry and a cuppa tea with a chocolate biscuit. Mmmmm...Earl Grey here I come.

DH actually slept with me night before last, and had a terrible night with my constant getting up and tossing and turning my huge belly over. He was back in spare room last night .

LadyBuzz · 04/09/2008 10:43

Good Luck Lacks hope it goes OK, I'm at MW today too ut have managed to get a sitter, I had DS at docs yesterday and he said his ears were a little pink but not too bad but he gave me a prescription anyway incase he got worse which he has so I'll get them while i'm out and give them a go.
dozy there really must be something in the air! hope you are not too knackered and the tavblets kick in soon.
