Loving the names discussion.
Well hacked off that I missed Dozy's deleted posts - I know her sons names anyway, but the incriminating evidence bit - sorry I missed that.
MerryM, please put this image of me to bed - Really, if only you saw me, you would realise what an ole fishwife, I really am

Thanks for all kind wishes for hands. Inj was fine. Will take 2-3 days to start working. Last night woke up in discomfort, but not as bad as it has been. Hopefull.

Trying to read all rest of posts. And struggling.

Will come back later.

Just out of interests, does anyone know IKEA or similar sells a stainless steel hob guard? Not for me, but one of my colleagues has a dog that managed nearly to set his own ear on fire this morning, licking something off the stove...

Actually, I admit it - it was me. I was hungry.

MerryMarigold · 18/09/2008 13:03

Docs wife, glad you are still here...

Obs, I don't care what you LOOK like, you are a sex goddess and no wonder you have a lovely dh!

Saurus, I think Erik is cool. And Daniel is a classic, which I also liked for our baby but our surname ends in 'nuel' so it was a bit much! I also love Joel and Micah (while we're in Old Testament prophets) but neither go with our surname again. Finlay is nice too though. I like Pheobe just so you can abbreviate to FEEEEEEBS! I'd like to be called that.

Choc, I've only seen those pillows online so not sure, but tbh I wouldn't bother. I think a V pillow is more useful just as a pillow in bed, or the widgey, to prop baby in/ stop rolling off bed etc. You may not end up using whatever you buy actually for bfing so it is good if you can use it for other things. A normal pillow is fine while you get used to bfing, if you need one, and once you are a pro (after about a week), you will not need anything at all! Then you are left with this weird pillow that doesn't appear to have any other use.

OK, off for a sleep now...xxx

Hi all

Just a flying visit to say Hi

I know I have been quiet of late but have been off work with SPD and still have no internet access at home so have popped into the office briefly (not just for MN!!) to assure you I am still here and ok

Back at work on Monday so catch up properly then

Cxx

PInkyminkyohnooo · 18/09/2008 13:39

Hello all
Beautiful day here, have been in the park all morning with the children. Now have a mountain of laundry to fold...

LOve the names going around this morning. Phoebe is a particular fav. If it wasn't the name of my puddy I'd have used it for DD! But then, phee was my baby at that time

saurus those Ikea baskets- I'm getting a bit tempted now. I have the drawer tidy ones from Ikea and heartily recommend them- great for little socks tights and vest etc. these we use them in the sideboard in the sitting room for cds and Dvds too.

Prince Lionheart do a hob guard, but it's plastic, we have it and it's been very good. here

PInkyminkyohnooo · 18/09/2008 13:41

Hello Autumnlady!! Sorry to hear you have SPD, it really is horrid

ceebee74 · 18/09/2008 13:48

Autumn - good to hear from you although sorry about the SPD - ouch! Have been worried about you.

Obs - just realised that you actually did it three times in one day with a very painful hand.....wow that is even more impressive!

Saurus - love love love Finlay - tis definitely one of my faves but can't use it because (a) my nephew is called it and (b) my surname rhymes with Fin so would sound a bit odd. Also, you really are funny - your writing style reminds me of Marian Keyes and your posts always make me giggle!! Not sure about the thread title - love the thought but I can just see that some other MNers will take offence at the swearing when it crops up on the Active Convos!!

Whoever was talking about breast pumps and maybe or maybe not needing one - I bought one from Toys R Us before DS was born and never used it or even took it out of the packet - I took it back and got a credit note (twas expensive) which we used on other stuff so maybe as long as you get it from a shop that you know you will need other stuff from at some point (like Mothercare etc) , then it is not a waste of money if you don't actually use it.

ruthosaurus · 18/09/2008 13:50

Oh poo, have just totted up what we still have to get for little 'un and reckon it comes to about another £500. That cannot be right.

This is what comes of not doing actual work and diddling around instead of meeting deadlines .

New thread title "Missing - 2 feet, last seen somewhere under bump in late August. If found, please massage and trim toenails before returning"?

AutumnLady · 18/09/2008 14:21

Hi Pinky & Ceebee

Thanks fo rthe kind thoughts, I can't beleive that I managed to get to 32 weeks with nothing wrong and now this! It's sooo painful but only have to count the days until 3rd November when this little one will arrive

Got to go now but hello to everyone and I will catch up properly on Monday.

Take care
xx

ruthosaurus · 18/09/2008 14:27

New thread ladies - I haven't done this before so I hope it works [bites nails].

Heartmum2Jamie · 18/09/2008 14:28

Afternoon all!

Saurus, I LOVE the idea for a new thread title!

Sorry haven't had chance to catch up on all the chit chat as have been a busy bee! I am trying to make the most of the sunshine and get as much of the baby's washing done as possible (still have no tumble drier). I am on my 4th load, but have done the blankets, sheets, moses baskets cover, play mat, car seat cover & head hugger, bouncy chair cover, towels and have finally started on the clothes. I also unloaded/re-loaded the dishwasher and cleaned the oven so far. Floors need mopping, bathroom needs cleaning and clothes need ironing but know I won't get all that done today. May take the boys out on thier bikes shortly while it is nice.

Ohhh, For anyone who was thinking of getting a nursing chair, I saw a bargain coming to a Lidl near you on the 22nd. I have a second hand Ikea poang chair which i have had for just over 2 weeks now and it is seriously the most comfortable thing, especially if you put a v pillow behind you (I am lucky in that we have 3 in the house). I read to the boys from the chair every night and if I even think of sitting down in it mid afternoon, I fall asleep. Anyway, Lidl are advertising a chair that looks just like the poang WITH the footstool for £49. You can't even buy the poang on it's own for less than £59 from Ikea. I think the cheapest you can get the chair/footstool combo is £110 from Ikea, so a bit of a bargain to be had I think. Had I not managed to get a pristine second hand one off ebay, I would have bought this one I am sure (I wonder if they do the footstool on it's own??)

Heartmum2Jamie · 18/09/2008 14:29

Darn it! Missed the new thread. Copied this over now.

Oblomov · 18/09/2008 14:34

Sympathy to Ceebee with nasty F&M of her little one.
Love to Vbab
And good to see DrsWife and Autumnlady back again.

Laughing at the 'Breast friend pillow thing' which I have seen in mothercare. And the cape - what is that - tee hee.

And I am sorry about the TMI. Please remember we don't 'get on down' very often. But just alot, when we do. Do you know what I am NEVER going to mention S*X on this thread again. EVER. And if I do will someone PLEASE whop me on my sore hands.

vbab78 · 18/09/2008 21:18

My near collapse on Monday (sorry said it happened Tues it wasnt) happened nearly again at tea time but I felt a lot worse and took longer to recover. Luckily DS was safe (and me) and DH managed to get to me in about 10 mins.

I reckon it is low blood sugar as a result of having long gaps between eating and not having anything of nutritional value when I do. DUH! Lesson learnt.

I seem to have upset my parents though by not calling them as they are only 5 mins away max. Just called DH without thinking.

On a ood note though my bump seems to have gone a little crazy over the past couple of days.
