Brand new thread ladies!

Mine goes: 12,16,22,28,32,36,38,40 then 41 - according to the nice timetable I have in front of me!

did everyone have comnbined nuchal and blood tests? we just have nuchal here....

I had combined nuchal and bloods but had to go privately for it. I only get a 12 week dating scan on the nhs here. Then I get nhs bloods done at 16 weeks (though I will only need the spina bifida ones now).

am very of those who get an nhs nuchal or/and an nhs 20 week scan. If I lived just across the water in Fife I would get an NHS nuchal done!

But I am happy to spend the money and the private scans are so much clearer and the pictures much better!

I am going to have to check now!! I am too impatient to only be seen every 4 weeks!!!

Meep...thats harsh only having 12 week scan! Are you going to go privately for another one later on?

22 hours until my 12 week scan....

Can't comment on cystitis, but re. iron levels I am already on iron tablets because my iron was low. No wonder I was feeling absolutely shattered all day! I made the mistake of reading about anaemia during pregnancy and it says it could be a sign of twins....well this time tomorrow I'll know for sure!

I can't help but wonder whether it is twins given how hormonal I was at the start of the pg and how different it has been to my first....

I really want the seraphine jeans too.

yup - only one scan on the nhs - it is rubbish - the midwives think it is rubbish too! We will also be paying for a 20 week scan.

Thank you for the lovely words and well wishes. No chance of getting a CVS until Monday so should know more by Wed. Very disappointed no progress today but just trying to keep our heads down really.

My BMI is 33 so I am slighlty into obese...although no one I tell this fact beleives me as apparently I carry my weight well?!?! Lol!

Mandy-I'm sorry it got pushed back, try not to think about it too much.

Well I did some shopping yesterday. I got ds1 some clothes. That was funny because he kept telling everyone in the store that his clothes were too small.
I got myself some new tops they were $6.00 each so can't beat that. I didn't find the shoes that I want but I know they are out there.

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and was dated as 12+4 so new edd 21.03.08 so have changed my stats! The nuchal fold was 1.8 but have to wait for the bloods for the combined result. It was wonderful seeing the baby, dh thinks he saw boys bits i told him it was prob the umbilical cord as too early to tell the sex! Have another consultant app today so going to be sitting up the hospital for hours again..

maybe if I tell them what I do for a living (medical negligence) they'll give me a free 20 week scan !

Oooh...hedgewitch that sounds familiar to me!! I hope my appointments go like that! Got to wait until I get in car (at 2.40) to check!!

I have my chose and book again today for new hospital!! Going to ask the midwife if she can have a listen to bambino!

God everyone seems to know so much more than I do and is soo much more prepared. I am feeling very guilty.

On the positive side my midwife (although a slightly scary lady - probably becos she has seen millions of pregnant women and is very laid back whilst I have a mini trauma about everything) has said that although I only need to see her at 6, then 10 then approx 18 Weeks I can phone up anytime and speak to her on the phone or pop down to the doctors. She said that the standard appointment dates are just to appease the NHS and she has no problem with my coming in more often. She'd rather that than my worrying myself into a state and not seeing her. Seemed all very sensible to me. And actually feeling more positive and have postponed my next appointment to see her, becos I have to see the consultant at the hospital becos I am a high risk patient too.

Oh and my feeling fat yesterday has turned into definitely being fatter. Last week the pants I have on today fitted fine, today they feel very tight and I think they may be staying in the wardrobe from now until I am back in shape. Bahumbug.

mmmm, agree with feeling fat - I feel thick-waisted and fat and yukky

want to stop feeling so sick in the evenings so I can go back to my yoga class!

Hi guys had my scan yest and all ok! so relieved can now get excited and tell everyone, although those i have since told have been so non surprised!!!!

Have put date back to 21st too! but as DD daughter was 3wks early take the whole date thing with a pinch of salt anyway!

DD being very sweet im getting lots of hugs but she wont hug me too tight so not to hurt the baby! and she is already going through the long list of things she will teach the baby these inc singing and skipping! bless!

Good luck to those with scans and tests coming up and im so sorry to those that arent getting the happy type of news, it really is a lottery!

Mandy - Sorry to hear the results are not stacked in your favour. You must be really worried and I'm very sad for you. Could there be a slight chance that the readings are high due to hormone levels? It may be a shot in the dark, but a friend of mine had a high risk stat and she had to have an amnio, a lot of worry for her, but it turned out everything was fine. She had been very sick with hyperemisis and they wondered that it could have been the hormone levels that were affecting the result? I know it's only a chance, but you never know. I'll keep everything crossed for you. xx

Meep - do you live in Edinburgh? I don't get a 20 wk scan either, just the bloods at 16wks and the 12 wk scan. We are thinking of paying for a private anomoly scan because this is our third and feel that given we have two others (DD2 is 1 today - hurray!) it's important to know everything is ok. Aparently tho you get one if you are 36. I am 36 next month - do you think I could press for one under that reason??
