My SIL has spent the past 5 months asking me constantly about travel systems, buggies, etc,and with 3 weeks to go they have gone and bought a flippin bugaboo. Typical. Not quite what I recommended, but never mind. I have a silvercross stroller which I love, and I'm going to buy a silvercross pram for DC2. I think it all depends how you're going to use your travel apparatus (!). I found the whole travel system thing totally unnecessary with DD1 as I pretty much walk everywhere unless I'm going to the supermarket, and then she would go straight from car seat to trolley seat. Have found that buying the pram and the car seat separately is cheaper than getting a fancy travel system. Plus I think the silvercross traditional pram looks just gorgeous!!! Trying it out made me feel like Mary Poppins!
And I agree with Slickbird - the lie flat option is very important, both for back protection and because of the few cases of SIDS in car seats.
BTW, I had my scan yesterday morning and little bean was very wiggly and excitable. Everything was ok, and my nuchal fold measurement was within normal parameters. I was amazed by how much you can see, as last time I had my first scan at 18 weeks when obviously the baby is so much bigger.
I too have been thinking I've been feeling movements from bubba - almost like a shifting pressure on my right hand side. Sonographer said it was definitely possible as my uterus is over to the right hand side and pushed quite far forwards towards my abdominal wall. Sounds a bit creepy to me but apparently it's all perfectly normal!
