Brand new thread ladies!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MKG · 02/08/2008 13:53

fifi--odds are it's a hemorrhage that will correct itself (very common) They found one with ds2 at 7 weeks and by 12 weeks it had corrected itself. Just stay away from sex, avoid lifting heavy objects, and just baby your baby's house.

winemakesmummyclever · 02/08/2008 14:29

Fifi - think someone else (sieve-like brain unable to remember who it was though) on here had a similar problem with previous pg, but everything turned out ok. Try not to worry too much about it (difficult, I know - am sure your mw team will keep an close eye on you).

Lillmolly - sorry to hear you have been having such a rough time. My ms is nothing in comparison. Hope you are getting well-needed rest and being pampered by your dp. There's a thread somewhere on here about having a old fashioned confinement when the lo is due. Sounds like a great idea to me!

Glad to see that people are getting to see their little beans now - best wishes to all those who are still waiting for their scans. I think it will finally sink in that I am pg when I have my scan.

Off to play on the wii with dh whilst ds has a nap. It's the weekend - housework can wait!

livismum · 02/08/2008 22:03

Hi all just eaten a huge Chinese with DD as DH off out, had major craving for chinese at 8 O Clock and dragged DD out with me to get it Bad Mummy

Yesterday it was crisps had 2 bags of doritos 1 bag salt and vinegar and 1 bag cheese and onion discos!

Is it any wonder im looking much further on than 8 weeks! But some days i only want toast so going with the flow! Not seeing MW for nearly 2 weeks cant wait!

Good luck anyone with scans coming up, sorry if my mentions of food has made anyone feel quesy

Hi gang,

I'm in panic mode today. Went for a wee last night and there was a little bit of brown blood. This happened to me last time when I had my mmc. So far nothing today, but I'm terrified that it will happen again now.

On the plus side I still feel a bit queasy and my boobs still hurt.

My early scan is a week tomorrow, but I'll have lost my marbles by then!

I keep trying to tell myself loads of people have this and are ok...

calsworld · 03/08/2008 13:30

Grinningbee, fingers crossed for you, brown blood is old which is a positive thing, stay rested. Can you call a GP, EPU or MW?

MKG · 03/08/2008 14:04

Hi all. I've been having a food issue these past few days if I don't eat on time (every 4 hours) I feel faint and dizzy and am totally off eating altogether. This didn't happen with the other two so it's a bit new.

Also I've been getting acne like a 13 yo which also didn't happen with the other two.

I've convinced myself this one is a girl (watch it be another boy now).

MKG · 03/08/2008 14:05

Ginningbee, don't worry about brown blood. Just try to rest as much as possible, and keep an eye out for more blood, and cramping.

Mandy73 · 03/08/2008 15:36

Hi all,

Welcome newbies & congratulations! Loving the new thread title.

Aunty so happy to hear you are doing better.
Grinningbee I had a brown CM scare last week & went for a scan. You just take it easy & try not to worry too much (easier said than done I know). xx

barbie1 · 03/08/2008 16:41

hi girls, thought i lost you all then i found the new thread phew!.....i have had such a bad few weeks starting with the bfp. My last scan showed a sac as you know but they said im 5 weeks which means the dates dont add up, so they said i could of have an early missed mc or a blighted o. I was told to go home and wait until the 11th for my scan to see if things have developed and to see whether the cyst they found has grown any. To top it all today i started getting brown blood and a really bad backache! the hospital told me to go home and wait either for a bleed which indicates mc or for next monday 11th for the scan, whatever comes first...im beside myself...i havent got any pregnancy symptoms, not that i had much before anyway apart from sore boobs which today feel fine??? my husband still has a month of being away and living 400 miles from home isnt helping...im glad i have you lot x

barbie1 · 03/08/2008 16:47

hey grinning bee, just realised you had the same edd as me and we are going through the same, even having a scan on the same day too....thinking of you hope you are ok xxx

laweaselmys · 03/08/2008 17:01

Hey,
I need to go on the list too.
laweaselmys - EDD 20th March

Weirdly I think my grumpalump really likes MSGs as have eaten loads of chinese over first 8 weeks (unplanned baby and moving house = dodgy diet for a while there) and never ever have any kind of sickness the next day just feel pleasantly full. Don't think I can get away with eating it everyday just to avoid being sick though!

Am a bit blue today as told mum about pg yesterday and she got really upset about it. She's a bit meh, so it's to be expected but was still sad - am perfectly happy functioning adult in long term relationship who is very excited to be pregnant didn't seem too much to ask that she'd at least be neutral instead of offended... oh well. Lots of other relatives and friends are busy being excited so that makes up for it!

anyone else had any odd reactions?

laweaselmys · 03/08/2008 17:04

oh, barbie1 that's very scary news, can only hope for the best. Good luck and vibes. Any neighbours you can go and sneakily steal a hug off?

Mandy73 · 03/08/2008 17:24

Barbie1 I'm so sorry you have nobody with you at such a scary and worrying time. Sounds like a long time to wait, whereabouts are you? Thinking of you. xx

barbie1 · 03/08/2008 17:26

im in newcastle now, a long long way from sunny devon!! thanks for your support x

grinningbee · 03/08/2008 17:55

Thanks for the good wishes everyone.

Still nothing more so far today. I would cross everything I have two of if it'd help! (bit late in the legs department... haha!)

Barbie, I feel so bad that you're on you're own going through this. Hugs to you.

How long ago did you have your scan for them to say that to you?

I am trying not too worry too much. I'm in two minds whether or not to ring the EPAC tomorrow. The ladies there are so nice though, so I'm sure they wouldn't mind...

barbie1 · 03/08/2008 18:16

i had scan last monday, as i was in pain, poss ectopic. Thought i was 7 weeks but scan showed 5 weeks, no heart beat of fetal pole told i must had dates wrong. due to go back at 7 weeks to see if they can see anything else, will know by sure then. Have you had any symptoms grinning bee. ill ask you as you are as far on as me

grinningbee · 03/08/2008 18:47

If you mean pregnancy symptoms, I've been feeling queasy and my boobs have been hurting and got a bit bigger. With my first pregnancy last year I didn't have any symptoms other than hurting boobs, but that stopped before the mmc.

I've not had any pain as such, just what I would imagine are stretching pains/settling in pains? Not like period pains, alot more mild than that.

According to the due date calendars etc I'll be 7 weeks on Wednesday. However, with my longer cycles I reckon it's a couple of days out.

SpookyMadMummy · 03/08/2008 20:58

Evening all hope you had good weekends.

I was just about to have some Bournville choc which I fancied tonight when I discovered that my nephew ate it while him and his mum were housesitting for us!

I really fancied that choc.....

GrinningBee I was talking to Lulumama earlier in the week as I had a brown streak too.. (sorry TMI) she said if it was fresh, red and associated with pain thats the time to worry!

fififlores · 03/08/2008 23:05

barbie1, I really sympathise as my dp works away from home too, though only Monday to Friday - he was supposed to go to Romania for a month, which would have been v good money, but i was so relieved in the end when he didn't go.

Is there a relaxation class or similar you can go to locally? Or really, really gentle yoga? Anything to get your mind off things! When I was freaking out about my bleeding, I went out of the house for an hour, didn't think about it at all, and felt 1,000 times better afterwards. otherwise it's so easy to send yourself crazy by thinking about everything too much! Good luck, thinking of you xxxx

CaptainKarvol · 04/08/2008 09:03

hiya all, welcomes to new folk and very good vibes to those of you waiting for scans.

I still haven't even seen the GP to get referred to the midwife for booking in, am beginning to feel like I have been a little lax.

Ended up telling the in-laws yesterday as I fell asleep at their house for 3 hours in the afternoon. They were nice, but SIL has fertility problems so it was a little akward (she has a DS, but probably not having any more). Pregnancy tiredness is just overwhelming me. Apart from that I just have a foul taste in my mouth and feel car sick a lot of the time. Roll on the middle trimester and that happy 'glowing' time!

Boobz · 04/08/2008 09:37

Am off to Dublin for work for 3 days - no doubt there will be a lot to catch up on when I get back! Have a relaxing few days girls -- hope all scans go ok (still 2 weeks today until mine - ugh!)

x

Playingthe9monthwait · 04/08/2008 11:02

Morning all,

Welcome to our newbies.

I think Boobz is right it is hard to remember people! Ok so a little bit about me;

I'm 26 and live in a small market town in Hampshire. Have been with my DH for nearly 10 years, married for nearly 4, so feel very ready to start a family! I work in a sales support and marketing role for a toy manufacturer and have no intention of returning to work full time after mat leave, although I am keeping my options open for returning part time or not at all, depends on finances and how I feel.

Sorry for all the people suffering from bad sickness. I'm not having too bad a time. I feel nausea every day, some days all day and some days just occassional waves and have days when I am sick too, but its not everyday so I think I am getting off ok. Tiredness is constant of course, as seems to be bloating/wind . Boobs are also tender although not too bad.

Barbie - I really hope everything works out for you!

Sorry that not everyone is getting goos support from their family. It must be really hard. I felt like a naughty teenager telling my Mum and she was delighted, I can't imagine what it must be like with less than enthusiastic parents!

Boobz - have fun in Dublin.

Grinning - I will echo what everyone else said old blood is fine, I would only worry about red blood and pain.

Sorry if I've missed anyone!!!

calsworld · 04/08/2008 11:32

Morning Playing, morning all! DH and I have similar 'stats' to you Playing - just celebrated being together for 10 years, but only married for 3. We have one DS who will be about 2.4 when DC2 arrives.

I have a horrible taste in my mouth which I didn't get last time round, not much in the nausea department - yet - but hard MS all the way through last pg so hoping it stays away as long as possible!!

I've got my booking in appt with the midwife on the 23rd and my scan will be booked at that I believe. I'm not very sure on my dates due to random long cycle lengths but believe I will be somewhere between the requisite 8-10 weeks when I see the MW.

First time round I was trying for a home water birth but ended up transferring and having an emergency C as DS' head never engaged. Oh well! Maybe this time....

Got to go, DS has just stumbled past and he whiffs!!!

Playingthe9monthwait · 04/08/2008 11:54

Morning Cal, did you and your LO get anymore sleep last night? Hows his CP?
