Mandy

Sorry not been on much (been cooking tonnes of apples) I would say that the only downside it does take a lot of space in the boot, I used to have a Nissan Primera and it would sit flat in the boot, but there wasn't much space left.

Babyinbelly - No, you are not alone. I am still throwing up and I am 15-16 weeks.

I am also looking VERY pregnant all of a sudden and am well and truely in maternity clothes, although some are a bit slack.

I have DD2's first birthday tomorrow and have taken day off - hurray! and we are having a tea party for her on Sat. I'm looking forward to it and plan to eat ALL day to keep the sickness at bay. I am also planning to make a baby face cake and make it look like DD2 as best you can with icing and smarties... wish me luck. I've only ever made about three cakes in my life!

Hope you're all well and puke/pile/constipated-free!

MKG · 10/09/2008 15:38

Hello ladies. I hope everyone is doing well today. I'm enjoying my day off. I am going to take inventory of my maternity clothes because I've had two summer babies, and all of my "big bump" clothes are tank tops, and shorts.
I also need to take ds2 shopping as his that little bug decided to grow. That child sure has nerve

emma2617 · 10/09/2008 15:55

Well...I can add indigestion to the list now! I have never suffered from indigestion before, but now I feel like I am having a heart attack!! Slight exaggeration, but it hurts a lot!!

looking on the bright side though, all this is giving me faith that all is going okay with bambino!!!

MKG · 10/09/2008 15:58

I just tried on my maternity jeans. God they're comfortable. But it's like I suspected, mostly tank tops and shorts. Must get a cardigan, and some long sleeve t-shirts.

I just realised I will not be able to wear flip flops for the last two months . Must get easy to get on shoes also.

Some sad and confusing news. Nuchal scan + bloods show extreme results, 1 in 3 risk of Downs, 1 in 36 risk of Edwards. Being fast tracked and may be able to have placenta biopsy tomorrow (basically have to sit in hospital all day and wait for a slot) and 100% result within 48 h after that, or else on Monday.

We are both feeling stunned & sad but not shocked if that makes sense, after all this is such a precious and risky process and we have always been aware of the risks. Will probably stay away from here for a bit, sorry. xx

I was meant to be getting my nuchal blood test results back today but the stupid machine thingie in Glasgow has broken so it "might" be tomorrow - argh!

Must be patient...........

ceedub · 11/09/2008 10:32

Mandy, am so sorry to hear your news - will keep fingers crossed for better results from tests and hope everything works out for you.

Had second MW appointment this morning - got blood test results which were surprisingly good - especially for the iron levels. DP and I don't eat red meat so I was bit stunned to see I've gots loads of iron, no idea where I'm getting it from! Listened to the heartbeat as well - as soon as the MW put the sensor on my tummy, we could hear it galloping along. Just amazing and such a relief. Then had all the advice about the anomaly scan in 4 weeks - of course, DP and I are just looking forward to finding out the sex, so will try not to dwell on the possible other findings. But so far, so good. Though I may have cystitis, though it's hard to tell from the symptoms - needing to wee a lot, feeling tired and having backache...isn't that just being pregnant??? I've had it once before, and I think I'd know....

Have been really glad to see other people get good nuchal results etc, and sorry that there have been a few shocks. Good luck to everyone x

Boobz · 11/09/2008 10:47

Cystitis is really painful when you pee - burning sensation that takes your breath away (or it was when I had it).

meep · 11/09/2008 11:03

drink lots of water ceedub!

you can get iron from loads of things - the nicest being water melon! You are lucky that you don't have to take the black-poo inducing iron tablets! I have been eating water melon every day in eth hope that I will avoid them this time round !

emma2617 · 11/09/2008 11:11

ceedub Im soo jealous!! I want to hear a little heartbeat!! I dont have my next midwife appointment until 22nd...at 16+2! I cant do this waiting 4 weeks between appointments!!

Does anyone know off the top of their heads when you start to see midwife every 2 weeks?!

meep · 11/09/2008 11:13

at 36 weeks for me emma

Boobz · 11/09/2008 11:15

I am having my booking in appointment today - finally! Was held up due to postcode lottery for homebirth -- but have now transferred to Tommies and meeting community MW today - huzzah!

Have obviously had nuchal scan already though -- so it's not like i have been totally ignored so far.

Am a total convert to yoga by the way -- everyone should do it. And to Fearless - I am surprised you got turned away for not being pregnant enough at your yoga class! I was told 12 weeks...

emma2617 · 11/09/2008 11:17

oh no!!

I think we star to see them every week at 36 weeks...I could be making it up though!!

I thought I went from every 4 weeks, to every 2 weeks then to weekly to wards the end!!
