Katz - isn't it slugs and snails and puppy dogs' tails for a boy?! Anyone craving these items ladies, feel free to own up

Glad lippy's scan went well, good to know.

Sorry, but I'm going to blow the theory. Oranges galore for me. I never eat fruit. Much prefer chocolate (when I'm NOT pregnant). But, I eat lots of oranges now. And it's either a boy or a three legged girl.

Uwila · 10/02/2005 09:33

It's a boy if:

You didn't experience morning sickness in early pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the extra weight out front
Your belly looks like a basketball
Your areola have darkened considerably
You are carrying low
You are craving salty or sour foods
You are craving protein -- meats and cheese
Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy
The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy
Your hands are very dry
Your pillow faces north when you sleep
Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you
Pregnancy has you looking better than ever
Your urine is a bright yellow in color
Your nose is spreading
You hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves in circles
You are having headaches
You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is even
It's a girl if:

You had morning sickness early in pregnancy
Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute
You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear
Your left breast is larger than your right breast
Your hair gets red highlights
You are carrying high
Your belly looks like a watermelon
You are craving sweets
You are craving fruit
You crave orange juice
You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy
You are moodier than usual during pregnancy
Your face breaks out more than usual
You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread
Your breasts have really blossomed!
Your pillow faces south when you sleep
Your urine is a dull yellow in color
If you hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves from side to side
If you add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is odd

Hi Lippy, Very glad to hear all is okay with the baby, congratulations!
Is everything okay with you??

Lua · 10/02/2005 09:41

I am going crazy with citrus, and am having a boy - don't remember being that way with DD....

JonahB · 10/02/2005 09:43

Morning All,

Lippy - great news. Glad everything is okay.

I've just been for my monthly midwife apt. Everythings fine and dandy Heard the heartbeat again . Also, the baby is lying horizontally - head on the left, feet on the right. That would account for the kicks I got in my right ribcage this am!!!!

Hope you are all fine and well today.

Morning girls,

KVC - welcome and another girl at last, hurrah I was begining to thing my little one would have no play mates

Tessie, really hope your intuition is right...~sshhh~ I also tried to time mine by optimum girl conception timings, but I won't tell if you won't

Lippy are you ok poppet, you've been very quiet...do hope all's ok...

Scraggy where are you...you've been real quiet too lately...hope you're on a course or holiday...sign in when you can.

Uki - another brave one opting for no drugs! Good luck

Uwila...I'm off to check my left boobie now...worried I'm going around lopsided and no-one's said anything, ha ha ha

MrsWednesday · 10/02/2005 10:56

You often wander around topless Teabelly?

Hello and welcome KVG. Hope you haven't got anything else to do with your time, keeping up with this thread is a full time job! Congratulations on the girl, glad we've got another pink one to even up the numbers slightly.

Going by the old wives tales I'm expecting to give birth to a half-boy/half-girl hybrid. Should be interesting...

Not long to go until you find out Tessiebear - what time is your scan on Monday?

teabelly · 10/02/2005 10:59

Mrs W - aha my secret's out!!

hmmm. not sure about those birth prediction charts. unless the sonographer was kidding us it's about as wrong as it could be for me.

interesting about your names choices KVG. as soon as we found out we were having a boy all our boys names seemed wrong, but all our girls names seemed really beautiful.

teabelly · 10/02/2005 11:29

KVG we have a couple edd's, ha ha ha! Nuchal scan says 28th May, but hospital dating gives 1st June, so going with the end of May date for now as that get's things over with sooner

I had been quite set on Lucy, but ds is called Luke and now dh has decided that's too close, so we have a new short list consisting of;

Charlotte (Charlie)
Caitlin (Cate)
Amber
Lauren

and last night ds decided to add Sophie...but that'll be coz we have a close friend with a Sophie and ds lurves her

I see from your other post that you're due at the end of June...have you had any movements yet? You'll have to pop over and add your details to the stats thread...

I work mon-wed and always have mn on in the background...it's soooo difficult not to keep posting - if you can manage it you're a better person than I am, he he he!

Oooo, go for Sophie. I love that name. But I can never have one 'cause she'd be called Suffy Duffy... And I can't have that! Besides, this little bot is my last. But I could live vicariously through you.

Teabelly - I'm ! And !

I can only think of girl names, so I suppose that means it's definitely a boy. At the moment the current favourite is Isobel (Isabel? not sure on the spelling!).

KVG, we've had our 20 wk scan and didn't find out, so it's a guessing game between now and June. Me and DH both think it's a girl but we genuinely aren't bothered either way. Actually, I don't mind either way but DH would prefer another boy if he could choose (he likes the idea of only 'siring' boys!).

teabelly · 10/02/2005 11:53

Yeah I still really like Lucy...Amber is a new one that's growing on me (dh's choice) but all I can think of is Footballer's wives when he says it so I'd have to get over that first, ha ha ha!

Sophie is lovely, I really like it, but our friends little girl is around here loads and it would be very confusing

Still there's plenty of time yet...and we still have to convince ds that it's better to get a sister than a blue dinosaur
