Oh shame - I do love a funny email...I'm the nutter sniggering behind my monitor first thing in the morning when I open all my emails In fact I was gafawing (sp) very loudly yesterday after reading the 'be prepared' thread on this board, which would have been ok if one of the senior partners wouldn't have had some important clients at his desk 8 feet away from me But with all these virus' going around it's good to check...

Lua · 10/02/2005 15:58

My DD is getting very impatient about the baby. She asks me everyday where is her baby! She also has his routine all planned out, andinsist that she will help him, not mummy... it shall be fun!

She might be right about the timing though, I've been feeling horrible contractions since yesterday !!!

teabelly · 10/02/2005 15:59

It's awful isn't it...all these people knicking names we like (all be it before we need them)...it's just not on!

teabelly · 10/02/2005 15:59

Ooh Lua - maybe they're braxton hicks??

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:04

Isabel was on my list too. Isobel is actually the Scottish spelling. Of course, Isabelle is actually the Spanish form of Elizabeth. I have to go through the history and meaning of names before they meet my approval for the short list.

I can't remember what Sophie means -- wisdom, perhaps?

Of course none of this matters since I'm having a boy.

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:05

Contractions, isn't it way too early for that? Although I thinI read that braxton hicks can start really early.

teabelly · 10/02/2005 16:07

...and a fine name Alex is too, Uwila...will it be Alex or Alexander?? My brother is Alexander, but insists on being called Al, urgh...still at least I can call him 'bro' to really wind him up

Lua · 10/02/2005 16:07

My DD is Sofia - it does mean wise (Which is hope she is not in terms of baby coming soon...)
Isabella was to be Ds's name....
I still have no idea what this little guy will be called!

Yeah, tea, I am hoping they are just braxton hicks, they better not continue this way for the next 4 months though! they are really painful!

Tessiebear · 10/02/2005 16:08

Katzguk - the Email was from me! It was just a really sweet little thing about families and kids and i sent it to everyone whose address i have who had kids. The friend who E-mailed it to me never sends anything that isnt virus-proof and it said that no virus was detected. I will have to check with the other people i sent it to and see if they got it! - Sorry

katzguk · 10/02/2005 16:09

hate to say it but i had horrible strong braxton hicks from 24weeks with dd and have been getting them since 20 weeks with this one, they're nasty

katzguk · 10/02/2005 16:10

tessie - i didn't think it was a virsus i was just checking since nothing was there, so please send it again

Mrs Wed. - my scan is at 11.05 AM. I will probably log on after lunch from my friends house (also a mumsnetter). We have a tradition that after our scans (we both have 2 boys) we always go round to the others house to show photoes etc

Tessiebear · 10/02/2005 16:12

Is Lippy ok??? She has only been on once since her scan and is usually about quite a lot! She did say that everything was ok with the scan didnt she?

katzguk · 10/02/2005 16:14

scraggy is awol too, she's not been on msn either

teabelly · 10/02/2005 16:16

Aren't braxton hicks meant to be painless?? I only really felt them in the last two weeks or so with ds...mind you my friend had them from about week 20 too I think...

Tessie, I hope it all goes ok on monday...now that you've said that you know we'll all be logging on in the afternoon to check how it all went...let us know asap

MrsWednesday · 10/02/2005 16:18

I meant to say, I've liked all the name choices everyone has mentioned today. Caitlin was one of our choices if DS had been a girl. Katzguk, your names are unusual without being weird - very classy.

DH's sister is due to give birth in the next month or so, and if she calls hers Isobel there's no way we'll be able to use it (and I shall be REALLY annoyed!).

Tessiebear, not too long for us all to wait then . Are you taking your DSs to see the scan too?

teabelly · 10/02/2005 16:18

...i've been abit worried about those two aswell, I do so hope all is ok...hoping they have very exciting social things happening and haven't had much time to log on in the meantime.

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:19

Just a guess, but I wonder if Lippy is hiding out because she doesn't want to reveal that sex, which was shockingly absent from her oh so brief post.

Lua · 10/02/2005 16:19

That's what I thought tea, which is why I confess I am tad bit worried. With DD I did have some hardening of the bump, but no pain...
This time around though I do feel down bellow, like an involuntary pelvic exercise... I will see mw next tues. hopefully she will clarify us...

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:21

Lua, I think you should ring the midwife... while they are still open.

You could also post a thread for mears to come and see/input.

teabelly · 10/02/2005 16:22

Lua, you haven't maybe eaten something that's given you some bad wind (sorry for being so personal)...sometimes bad wind can be very painful?

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:23

The name will be Alexander Robert Rathbun Duffy, and we will call him Alex. If he wants to be called Al, he'll have to find another place to live.

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:24

Oh, and we'll tell him all about his sister the mouse murderer.

Uwila · 10/02/2005 16:24

Then, we'll tell him the mouse's name was Al.
