Afternoon all!!

Miamla Congratulations on the safe arrival of Theo hun that is fab news!!!!!!!!

TS Congratulations on not slapping your MIL upside the head - I would have done after she uttered the words "obessive/compulsive individiuals who have the need to control everything, can't" {{{{massive hugs}}}}

Just to add my 2p worth into the FF thingy - when we had DD the HV gave us a tip, she said to boil the water, fill the bottles with desired amount & just leave them to cool. Then when we needed a feed just add the powder, shake & give to DD at room temp. So we did & it worked perfectly.

Just have to discard the water after 24 hours if not used & if any milk was left over once mixed it was ok for 4 hours.

I know that's probably controversial & not everyone will agree or be happy to do that but it worked fab for us

I have got myself some reflexology booked for Friday morning hoping that will encourage E out if he's not out by then

ChaCha · 30/07/2008 16:37

Awww....sorry to hear about MIL incident TS, poor you! I'd take it with a pinch of salt though TBH, i know its easier said than done but i've learned to do it in the past and MIL is more tactful now. In my case she doesn't really mean any harm it's just the way she is and seemed to get worse as she got older. Anyway, sending you a hug and hoping that you are just fine. Perhaps you are sat out on the porch with MIL as we speak sharing a pitcher of iced tea!

VG - Spoilsport!!!!!! Thought I was going to have a cyber birthing buddy!! Glad all is well though.

Is good to read everyones views on b/f, i also hope to try for longer this time. DS1 was b/f for 2 months and mixed fed for 3 more until weaned, DS2 slightly less. Both boys cluster fed and exhausted me TBH. They were given goats milk as f/f that i really liked and was happy with and both thrived on it so no complaints there. Happy mummy = happy baby/child, whatever works for you isn't it.

have read all posts but cant think of replies.... brain has gone...

Left DS2 at home with mum's OH and had a lovely time with mum and DS1, we spoiled ourselves and mum got me some 'widgie' cushion for b/f after caesarian which was nice and now a quietish evening planned which am looking fwd to. Will no doubt be on before bed x

CC - frigging morons, I would have told them to all F off!!

Good ranting, I love it

{{{{hugs}}}}

Okay - here is the chocolate devils food cake I think everyone needs. Help yourselves.

To make you all laugh read this.

I just stole 2 mins in the bath DH ran - only to wash off the sweaty feeling and realised NO towels, I had washed them all (yes all even the clean ones - don't ask me why but the all needed to be washed today at 6 am!) so jumped out the bath and ran naked down the garden to get a towel. Forgetting the old man in the house at the end of the garden was cutting down the hedges which were overgrown - he had trimmed all the sides off and it is now seethrough and was standing there with the chainsaw in his hands to cut the top off - his face was a picture - he dropped the running chainsaw and left it on the ground and went inside. I smile and waved - then reaslised i was naked (no wonder it was so nice and cool.) I grabbed towel went in to find DH trying to calm old man's wife who was already on the phone about it. DH told her it was just hormones and i wouldn't be in the garden naked once bubs arrived.

TwilightSurfer · 30/07/2008 16:41

Here's me being terrible mummy...
On the FF topic, all we did was put the powder in the bottle (recommended scoop) then turn on the water faucet (it has a nice water purification filter on it) and fill the bottle with water. No heating, boiling, monkeying with gadgets. I'd just shake the stuff up and give it to DD. Made it easy when on the road too as I just had a thermos with filtered water to use. DD seems perfectly fine to me so I obviously did no harm.

CC - Every right to rant, am so sorry to hear about miserable trip to hospital - please relax and put your feet up and fingers up!!!

laptop dying....be back later

PetitFilou1 · 30/07/2008 16:48

oops ROFL at you naked in the garden- but not sure why neighbour ran off, what did he think you were going to do, jump on him!

TS Your mil needs to wind her neck in - 'early signs of a c section' indeed. Sounds like my mil, 'I know you haven't asked for advice, but...'

CC Sounds like ward sister was pissed off with being at work to me - I'd have ranted too.

ataraxis lol at radical birthing - we've had a lovely day today. Went to Oxford via park and ride (exciting bus journey for dcs), on the canal for 40 minutes round trip and to the pub for lunch. I'm very tired but have not shouted at dcs all day (hooray!) Helps that the humidity has gone and it is just a really beautiful sunny day here today.

VG Good news re you not having to be induced. Can't remember what you said about what happens next though - have to go and make dcs dinner but will re read again later!

Hope all is well with the rest of you.

pf sounds as if you had a great day, how lovely for the DCs. I used to loathe getting the bus when I was a child (because I had to all the time) but my DS at ten still regards it as a treat! Plus lunch out and a lovely boat trip. You have earned a restful evening and the DCs will sleep soundly tonight. Gold Star Mummy Award!

Today I took DS to doc, made him sit quietly while all went on, then took to reflexologist, made him sit quietly for 1 hour fifteen mins while I lay blissed out! No stars for me today alas.
