CC I was admitted last pregnancy at 38ish weeks with exactly the same thing. They kept me in until they induced me at 39+4, so I think you may be needing the bag unfortunatly. But hoping it doesn't come to that and BP and everything else calms down a bit x

Ilana Thoughts are with you, hopefully you can have your new baby at home with you very soon

Thinking of dd too x

sazzles thanks for updating about mammydixie
Looking fwd to hearing about your appt

cc good luck at the hosp. Seeing you at 7pm sounds like an intention to at least kepe you in for observation overnight? or am i assuming something that's wrong? Highly likely

feeling so rough tonight. I think a trip down high st for eyebrows PLUS lunch at friend's and wall-e trip was too much for one day 2 days before my section. limbs feel all weak, and I am in a right old bad mood, and feel tired and sick and and and SCARED that I'm having a baby the day after tomorrow!

TwilightSurfer · 22/07/2008 18:51

Petitfilou you did a very nice job with the new thread. I couldn't have done better with the thread title as well. CHEERS

Last night I thought I would be the next delivery. MIL & DH helped organize things just in case. Then we just waited. I'm refusing to go sooner than necessary despite everyone's urging. Contractions were constant and more painful. I was winded but still able to walk. I had a HORRIBLE pain that ran round my entire body from hip to hip. Reminded me of the moment before DD1 crowned. My back and butt ached. I couldn't eat. Throughout the day I'd be pukey (not unlike you AnnVan). The evening was miserable. I slept with DH so he could watch over me....we didn't sleep much because of my tossing and turning. I had night sweats then chills. Around 3am I took some tylenol which eased the pain enought to sleep until 6am. Slept off and on till 10ish, had a bowl of cereal and a good poo then back to bed. Feeling slightly better. Don't want to do much so I'm not. DD is not being nice to MIL but not much I can do about that...she'll learn.

Anyway, sorry to disappear without warning but I'd packed my laptop in my bag which was ready for our exit....AGAIN.

Captain, seems you're having a bit of my luck. I am so sorry. I hope all gets sorted quickly.

Dizzy you are in my thoughts. If there's anything I can do from across the pond I'LL DO IT!

Still focusing on Saturday for Lotus Blooming ceremony. That will be 37+0 for me. Doc said he'd induce me in my 38th week if I last that long. We've completely tossed out my due date at this point.

Wishing everyone a peaceful evening.

gigglegirl · 22/07/2008 19:00

hi all,

Am trying to get organised but it is just not happening!

Anyway - a question for all of you that have had sections before - what do I need that is different to having a natural birth?

I have got my own TENS machine which I have used with all three and someone has told me that this can help with the healing of the scar after a section - anyone know anything about this?

Have spoken to one of my customers whho is a homeopath and she is sending me a list of stuff to get - I swear by arnica and she says there are quite a few things I can take.

I know I need to get some big pants for afterwards!

Anything else??

Am frustrated as still can't find Ipod lead so can't add anything new to it which is very frustrating!

I've just done a search for Voodoococonut. Her due date is tomorrow. The last thread she posted on is still active so I left a message to see if they might now whether she's given birth yet or not.

Not the same luck with Sassylou. Does anyone know anything about her. She's due on the 31st??

TwilightSurfer · 22/07/2008 20:09

Seems we may have had another birth. The folks on voodoococonut's thread are awaiting arrival details!!!!!

oopsacoconut · 22/07/2008 20:42

Hi All

PF thanks for the new thread - loving the title

Ilana Congratulations on the arrival of your Son. Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Special {{hugs }}for his big brothers who must be confused with all that is going on.

Dizzy Hugs and keeping you and your family in our prayers.

Sazzles New recruit not killed a child yet but did leave the 4 year old unattended by the pool today - i turned up to find him paddling naked on the 4th step down

TS thinking of you - hope you get a bit more sleep. You had everyone worried with your absence.

Will keep trying to catch up and be back later.

OOHH forgot the HAPPY BIRTHDAY's

PetitFilou1 · 22/07/2008 21:03

TS No problem - but you know I didn't do a good job really . I was in a rush so I just copied and pasted but hey at least I got things started..... Maths, stats, lists, detail generally etc not my forte so quite frankly I'm glad you are back!

Sorry your contractions are still never-ending........ hope the troublesome little girl is out soon!

CC Good luck with things, hope you feel better soon.

dizzy I hope you are ok and thanks to sazzles for the update - you are in all our thoughts.

VG did you get my email - have I been a bit daft as didn't give you my surname???

OP posts:
poppysocks · 22/07/2008 21:08

Congratulations on Saul's arrival Ilana. Sorry it wasn't as straightforward as it should have been but I'm sure he's being really well looked after and will be home with you soon. Thinking of you.

Thinking of you too Dizzy.

Hope things improve for you both TS and CC.

Happy Birthday Buckets!

And thank you for the lovely new thread pf.

So sorry for anything else I've missed from anyone else. This thread moves so fast I'm bound to have!

Nothing to report here but a successful Dizzy malteser tray bake and a lovely day enjoying the all too rare Scottish sun. Ante natal appointment with a midwife adamant that the baby is head down and starting to engage. Been there before though and as I'm having a c-section I'm not paying much attention.

stillhere · 22/07/2008 21:24

My, what a lot has happened on this thread since this afternoon...

Just to add my positive thoughts to everyone else's, Ilana - congratulations on Saul's birth and I'm sure he'll be back with you soon. Keep your chin up and look after yourself - we're all thinking of you.

Hope all went well with your appointment this evening CC - sending positive thoughts your way too. My BP didn't behave itself last time round and it's the most frustrating thing having to be in hospital when you don't want to be. Hoping for a quick getaway...

Thanks for the new thread pf - the other one was getting a bit humungous! Nice title - it's good to feel part of a batch production of August babies and makes a change from the solo crapping yourself calm earth mother figures we all have to be normally. Roll on births 2 - 62, eh?!

Sounds like you've had a bit of an evening Sazzles - well done you for sticking up for yourself in the face of ignorant thoughtless delightful NHS staff.

Some days it just feels like you're battling everyone for stuff that should be so simple. Ho hum.

Anyhow, nice to hear from you - I really thought I'd killed the thread with my last post! And hope everyone has a good night's sleep - going to get my nighttime Rennies lined up next to the bed and plump up the 4 million pillows I'm sleeping on at the moment...

poppysocks · 22/07/2008 23:05

Ooh congrats on your decision Sazzles! Still umming and ahhing here, but know what we've got is very sensible and DH would go utterly bonkers if I suggested changing things again! Glad yours is onside now. How exciting!

TwilightSurfer · 22/07/2008 23:07

HOORAY SAZZLES!!!!! Baby down...WAY TO GO!!! You're just gonna LOVE having a vaginal birth. Don't worry. It's not so bad.

Feel like tonight's the flip side of last night. We had roast with mashed potatoes and watermelon. I had to make mac-n-cheese for DD but I didn't care. DH still not home yet. MIL seems to be settling into our boring daily routine. I'm even considering taking us all to the library tomorrow. WOOHOO!! Baby still sliding on down. Honestly I can't believe my belly is as LOW as it is. But my spirits are up and I feel rested.

Wishing everyone else the same calm and comfort I'm feeling right now.

Gotcha updated on the stats Sazzles. You'll see it next posting. AND AS FOR the belly flapping....IT'S NOT THE ONLY THING HANGING DOWN TO MY KNEES!!!

Might be considering that full service mommy-lift after all.

VintageGardenia · 22/07/2008 23:36

Hi, just a quick one after a long day out.

Ilana - first, congratulations on the arrival of baby Saul. I am so sorry to hear he's in SCBU, I am sure he is in safe hands and will be at home with you in YOUR hands as soon as he has adjusted to life on the outside. It must be so tough for you, i hope you know I really am thinking of you and him and your family even though we have never met. All the good wishes you could want - and be kind to yourself and your body, don't forget you're getting over surgery as well as everything else. Big hugs.

dizzy - you know we are thinking of you and your mum. I hope she is calm and comfortable and peaceful and knows you are there. Big hugs for you too. Don't ever feel you can't come on here for a bit of a weep. We all know what mothers mean.

CC - I hope everything goes well for you this evening, glad you have a good friend to mind your ds and sorry your dh wasn't in easy reach.

pf no mail from you, do you want to double-check you sent it to [email protected] ? I even checked my junk trap so unless you've sent me a VERY coded message and moonlight selling Viagra, PhDs and fake Rolexes, no joy. And yes you will need to put surname in email if I am to find you, or I can reply with mine and you can find me.

Sazzles glad your appt went well, and you have your plans made with DH now on board. I am glad no-one has offered me a choice, easier that way. Can you send your neighbours round here to sort out One or Two Issues in the VG house too, please?

TS I can't keep up with you, serves me right for having read patchily yesterday and today, vv sleepy now. Am I right in saying you are not in labour? Glad you have your MIL to reassure and help in case anything does happen, and that you are in a good place today.

I have missed out loads, I know, please don't take offence, just some of the more serious things that leapt out at me today. Best to everyone, hugs all round, hasta manana.

Hello all. Yesterday I spent four and a half hours in the hospital - waiting for the baby to stop moving during CTG monitoring (apparently routine weekly from 36 weeks), waiting for the doctor to review the trace, going for a blood test because I have a spotty belly and then getting the results reviewed. Mostly fine, and back to tha hospital tomorrow for repeat bloods. Have also reached over 16kg weight gain now, which is apparently the upper limit of normal. When the doctor mentioned it what I heard was "you're fat, you've put on too much weight, it's going to cause problems and it's all your fault" although I suspect that this is not in fact what she said at all.

Got all stressed and emotional - talking about it in bed with DH I explained that lots of you had posted about feeling upset by hospital appointments, and it was quite nice to know that this wasn't just me being irrational, but quite normal, and he said that he thought that this web board was a good thing. So nice.

Must do the washing up, and then think of a low fat low calorie dinner to cook tonight.

Greetings to all, and still thinking of those of you having a tough time.
