Hi VG, message from DS

My favourite is too but my favourite colour is red so I like too but I don't like being angry.

ataraxis · 30/07/2008 08:24

morning sazzles, trying to get some exotic breakfast goodies to pass around but brain has gone completely - so how about a ton of fresh pineapple for those of us who need to keep things moving...

He is very intrigued at who is sending him messages - VG, think you have made his morning, but he has run off to be a Pokemon trainer now .

miamla · 30/07/2008 08:35

preg1 I am so sorry about the missed call you had from me this morning. Hope I didn't wake you, my phone had a mind of its own earlier so I'm on BB now!

pregnancy1 · 30/07/2008 08:44

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkk! COngratulations Miamla. I am SO thrilled. I didn't have a missed call from you so don't worry (because I have a blackberry I turn off my mobile at night or I get woken up by emails coming through at all hours. However, now my email bit has been turned off I'll keep it on so I don't miss anymore imp news!).
OMG!!!!! Can't believe it.
I'm at Whipps X at midday today picking up my Tens from the physio which is now upstairs (where you are?). It's not during visiting hours, but text me if you are up to letting me try to sneak in and see you/Theodore (have comedy visions of staff trying to stop a determined pregnant woman from visiting anyone ). If I don't hear from you I'll assume you are getting much needed rest and will just see you when you get home and settled.
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkk

Right, will now catch up on other news/posts

Miamla Congratulations and love the name (next door's baby is called Theo too)!

Back later as off on a boat with friend and dcs later - not sure how wise this is!

OP posts:
ataraxis · 30/07/2008 08:58

sazzles, how annoying... if you look carefully on the website there is probably a disclaimer for all incidents/accidents that happen when people are MNing .

What a rubbish day - DH was going to take the boys to Crealy and give me a day to myself, but that's not going to happen now . And I have HV coming over today - for what, exactly, I am not sure, but I have never had a decent HV so do question the point...

ataraxis · 30/07/2008 09:04

pf - on a boat! what sort of boat?, not going to undertake some extreme sailing or something as a radical birthing solution are you?

CaptainCaveman · 30/07/2008 09:16

TMI ALERT - I think the polite term is 'a jolly good clear out' but really. I've just had my 4th poo so far....and it's only 9.15 (sorry to mix poo with breakfast here!). Bowels making some bizarre noises. Is it a sign.....no, I doubt it either!!

VG glad you got my joke - I really do not have a pot to piss in. Need to be creative but running out of ideas. Oh well, they will have a sample pot for me at hospital so will just pee when I get there.

Post later - hope you all have fun today and for those that want it **

gigglegirl · 30/07/2008 09:21

Congratulations miamla sounds like a perfect labour to me!

My DH went and got me an electric fan from our house last night so for the first time this week I didn't sleep in relative comfort rather than feeling like I was going to melt!

Am off to hospital shortly for first lot of steroids - taking all three DC with me - wish me luck, am hoping the presecnce of a 5, 3 and 2 year old may make them see me swiftly - either that or they'll admit me early out of sympathy!

Will def need a drink when I get back later though!

miamla · 30/07/2008 09:31

preg1 yeah! Come and visit,it'll be lovely to see you.I'm in a forest suite, cedar I think

Thanks for all your lovely messages. He'll be theo when he's good and theodore when he's naughty!
He's still fast asleep! It must be exhausting this being boirn lark! This does mean he still hasn't fed..should I be worried yet? I've asked at the hospital and haven't had a straight answer other than "do you really want to bf or shall we try a bottle!!"

Miamla -- that is truly fantastic news! I hope you and Theodore had a restful night.
And thanks to Ataraxis' DS for adding a bit of colour to the thread. I'm fondest of [hmmm]

Hope the appointment is going well VG.

DH has taken the DC out this morning because I spent half the night pacing around with contractions and horrible leg cramps. Gold star for DH, or possibly just compensation for laughing at me last night for being a hormonal wreck (not his normal behaviour, so maybe just a hormonal blip of his own.

Chacha you sound as if you're having a rough time. Would one of oops's muffins make you feel any better?

Sibh · 30/07/2008 10:16

Aah --tired brain got me to the bottom of p.34 and didn't realise I could 'turn over'.

[Drains large mug of Sazzles' tea, better to face the day ahead.]

Miamla you sound full of joy! Great advice from Sazzles on the feeding, by the way. He'll let you know when he's good and ready.

oopsacoconut · 30/07/2008 10:20

Morning All

Miamla CONGRATULATIONS and *THEO Welcome to the world - I am truely amazed that 5 hours after he was born you were online!

Everyone else due today - sending enormous labour vibes

CC it was needing a 'jolly good clearout' that work me at 4 this morning and i now feel like I am due lunch or at least some afternoon tea.

Going to make DH who has just woken up a latte and bacon sarnie - then he can have muffins and chocolate devils food cake.

poppysocks · 30/07/2008 10:21

So many congratulations miamla on Theo's birth and such a great labour. DD slept for her 1st 24 hours, virtually straight. Then woke up and fed for the next 24, so based on my (v. limited!) experience, no worries there.

Good luck with your appointment gg. Hope the DCs don't make it toooooo stressful. How exciting that you VG and ChaCha are so close now! (VG - I must have missed something. Do you mind me asking why you're being induced?).

TS - At least your DD and MiL are getting something out of your frustrating wait. The relationship that I had with my granny was so important to me and that was forged through the birth of younger siblings.

[sticking head above parapet] While planning to try bf again, I don't tbh expect this baby to be. I know how hard it is/can be from last time and this time, esp. with DD to think of, I'm afraid I can't see myself having the commitment to it to make it work. I really beat myself up about it not working out last time and it really blighted the first few months and my bonding with DD. Contrary to my expectations at the time, she is strong and healthy and I don't think formula did her any harm. I did manage to continue with a couple of bfs per day to appease the guilt (not sure how much she got from it beyond comfort), and if pos, hope to do the same again. Horses for courses...

How are things Dizzy? Hope you are ok. Do you have a new date?

Sibh · 30/07/2008 10:23

Good job DH is out and not peeking over my shoulder or he'd be leaving me for Oops ...

pregnancy1 · 30/07/2008 10:28

Miamla Fab - is that on the 1st floor? I will try my hardest, but am not sure how strict they are on people sneaking in during non visitor hours. Will give it my best, listen out for shouting and a pregnant woman being tackled as she runs past various security guards Will they let you out today?

Anyone else got one comedy swollen foot? Can't get it down it's driving me insane. Feels like it's about to burst. Been v amused by little bean's antics this morning - she's ben making little waves across my belly. Can only assume she's dragging her foot along the surface .

Right, best go and write my shopping list & tidy up the spare room (friend is staying over tonight).

ChaCha · 30/07/2008 10:31

Sazzles - Well done you! Am shuffling around looking busyish but not actually getting much done. Well i'm listmaking now at least. Have decided to do a bit of shopping at local retail park, at least there is a Mothercare for fitting and nursing bras and a Boots for some pampering treats (which will have to fit in this afternoon as plumber doing toilet this evening of all evenings!!!!!) and an M&S Food for when feeling peckish, and i suppose there's the big park en route to keep DC happy.

Very much looking fwd to mum's arrival as I am all over the place, bag of nerves and excitement and wanting EVERYTHING done and in its place TODAY!!

VG - Am awaiting your news!

Bealcain is our only missing Aug lady now?

PF - Boat trip!?!

Hello to everyone else. Is DD having baby tomorrow too or today? Is anyone able to ask? Sending her a big cheery wave and hug!

pertelote · 30/07/2008 10:57

Congratulations Miamla! How lovely to hear that everything has gone well.

Good luck to all those for whom things are kicking off today...

AnnVan · 30/07/2008 10:59

Good morning all !

congratulations miamla and welcome theodore!

AnnVan · 30/07/2008 11:09

I am planning to bf, and really really hope it works out as I really don't want to be bothered with making up bottles etc. Sister says when she had her DD, the lady in the bed next to her was having trouble with bf, but still insisting on doing it. SHe spent hours expressing just to get a couple of ounces of milk to spoon feed the baby. When sister left hospital the lady was still there, and her baby had lost a lot of wight. Apparently everyone was saying just bottle eed, but she would just say 'no I'm oging to bf if it's the last thing I do'. Don't know how it turned out.

well I'm back - DC were great and it was pretty quick - jab in the bottom and I've plenty of padding there. Kids sat nicely and coloured in and chatted. Stroppy woman in the waiting room kept tutting and looking at them like they were devils becaus ethey dared speak and DS1 accidentally knocked the tin of felt tips on the floor. Her own DS (about 8)and DH sat the whole time ignoring her and playing on their mobiles, her DS picked something up for one of mine that had fallen on the floor and in a loud voice she said "you don't need to clean up after THEM" it'll be just my luck to be in the same bay as her on Friday!

It is all starting to feel slightly real - eeek, still got work to do, playscheme activities to finish, a bag to pack and a house to get back to. All by 7:30am on Friday oh and I've got to fit in a haircut, pre-op appointment and DDs last swimming lesson of the term!

AnnVan · 30/07/2008 11:25

Ah sazzles - even you are not as stubborn as this lady, by the time my sister left hospital, this lady's baby was ive weeks old.

Anyone seen the thread about the lady who found her MIL pouring cream into her lactose intolerant baby's bottle?? I see all the complaints about MILs and realise how lucky I am to have a nice non-interering one
