Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FruitynNutty · 17/07/2008 17:14

I feel really anxious actually Now I know how undeveloped baby still is. Also, I can't blame my pot belly on the baby either as it's so tiny.
I didn't wanna post on the TTC thread cos I sound so selfish when I say this but I feel like there's such a long way to go till I feel I'm out of the water.
I don't know why I'm so worried. I think reading all the horror stories in MN hasn't helped much. I don't think I realised quite how common MC's are. I'm terrified of a MC not to mention a MMC! That must be worse than a MC

I've only ever had a MC once before and I was very very young and it was very very early on so not affected by it at all. Never got it checked out as I think I ignored it back then.
I'm not looking for sympathy at all, I'm just hoping that as I've only ever had one MC before then I might be less likely to have another one as not prone to them iyswim?
DS was a very healthy and fab pregnancy. Also he managed to survive the early days of me drinking, smoking and serious partying for 7 weeks before I found out!

F*k, I've just been reminded that MC twice as likely with PCOS Holy sht. Now I'm terrified

Fruity I know exactly how you feel, I had a mm/c and it totally devestated me, first pg and all, I just didn't realise how common m/c is. But there is nothing to say that just coz you've had one it means that you will have another (or that's what I keep telling myself) I am so torn between feeling excited and absolutely terrified about my reassurance scan on Tuesday. We can get through this together hun, we CAN do it x

mibbes · 17/07/2008 20:23

Ladies, I know exactly how you feel. I have been discussing this with a girl at work who has told me she is 5 weeks. You analyse risk at every stage - I remember reading that by 8 weeks there is only 3% risk of mc and by 12 weeks that reduces to 1%. If you think about it logically that means the odds are stacked in your favour (even if PCOS inreases risk) as you have 93-91% chance of all going well after 8 weeks. I just had to take each day as it came and countdown to the crucial milstones. Remember there is nothing you can do except eat healthily and take folic acid. Trust me, after a bleed at 6 weeks it was a nerve-wracking few weeks for me but you will get there - remember Positive Mental Attitude !!! xx

mibbes · 17/07/2008 20:27

And just to add that the worry never totally goes away (that is not supposed to sound negative, just a fact of PG !) as I had a lot of movement last week then nothing since Sat - so by this morning 5 days of no movement reduced me to floods of tears as was convinced all was not well, then as if he sensed it my wee Hippo kicked me at 10am - PHEWEY !

FruitynNutty · 18/07/2008 09:03

Thanks for the reassurance girls!
I should count myself lucky I've been scanned so early then again in 2 weeks. Most people have to wait till 12 weeks to get the reassurance

I'm going to temp still, not sure if that's a good idea or not

I think I'm giving up on the March thread. Far too big. Gonna stick to this one

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 18/07/2008 10:23

I don't blame you it's huge! I might keep lurking but can't keep up with the posts, when it's so big you can't bond with anyone can you?

FruitynNutty · 18/07/2008 11:42

Nah, that's why I like our little crowd

I hate my job!! My job at the moment is to interview customers, they are seen firstly by another colleague and I do the second part of the interview. Well I was just waiting for my next appt and he was sat at the desk next to mine and he absolutely stank of alcohol, the smell was horrendous and i had to exit my desk rather quickly to visit the loo and have now been back and forth 4 times! Fortunately my friend who knows my predicament offered to see him instead otherwise I think I would have barfed over him!

FruitynNutty · 18/07/2008 12:13

OMG!!! How horrible for you mollie How can he come to an interview stinking of alcohol!

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 18/07/2008 12:34

You'd be surprised how bad they can smell! I've got a homeless person this afternoon wish me luck!!

FruitynNutty · 18/07/2008 12:44

LUCK LUCK LUCK your gonna need it!

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 18/07/2008 15:42

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 18/07/2008 16:35

The homeless man made me throw Off to look at the expanding march thread now

Emmsy1 · 18/07/2008 20:00

LOL mollie I know how you feel, when we had a caller section before we merged with the JSA we would get our 'PI's' (personal issues) and one drunken woman peed in the middle of the waiting room, really looking forward to going back next year!
Talking about throwing up, I was sick today, I have a bad cold and it has gone on to my chest, I opened a bag of old worn baby blankets that my SIL had left today. I decided to smell them, expecting a lovely wiff of fairy soap powder I took a deep inhale and smelt stale baby sick! I binned the lot! I then gingerly opened a black bag that contained a baby swing in it, the legs were covered in mould because she had stored it in her garage, when I opened the swing, that too had sick down the seat, I put it in my garage just in case she ever asks for it back. Her intentions were good, so I sent her a text to thank her for the items she had left. I wouldn't even let my pet dog use the blankets, never mind a new born baby, will tell her I gave them to charity if she asks Off to have a nose at the due in March thread now, as you have me feeling nosey curious!

cricri · 19/07/2008 08:12

Mollie Sounds like you had a horrible day I would hate to have to deal with the general public as part of my job so I admire anyone who does.
Fruity Great news for the scan At least you saw something and it's good that you have another one in 2 weeks. Try not to worry about mc and take it one day at a time. We're all here to help you through the early days and several of us have had the experience of mc As Mibbes said, positive mental attitude! The Knickercheckers thread has a good mantra: "Healthy and well"
Talking of AN threads, it took me a good 20 minutes to catch up with mine after a day and a half of not logging on It is great for reassurance though as there's lots of people with the same symptoms. I tend to lurk more than post too tbh as sometimes the conversation just moves too fast and I'm not always able to keep checking the thread. Weekends tend to be quieter too, which is a good time to post.
Have a lovely weekend all of you and talk to you next week

FruitynNutty · 19/07/2008 08:49

Morning girls

You just have to have a look at this link Click on "See inside the womb" Truly freaky! Never mind "My Stepmother is an Alien" Now I know babies look quite freaky before they are properly developed but I don't think I've ever seen them in this much detail before!

Cricri Thanks for the reassurance
Emmsy at you SIL giving you those baby things! I'd be embarrassed to give away stuff like that. I think I'd bin it myself!

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 19/07/2008 09:44

Emmsy My goodness that was lovely of your SIL! Bless, she obviously didn't check it first yuck!
Fruity Fantastic link, I think it disturbed DH he's convinced I've got an alien growing in my tummy now! I bet I dream about the film tonight now, my dreams are really vivid at the moment.

Well I only seem to be able to eat what I fancy at the moment, if I think about other food it makes me feel sick. Tried to watch celebrity masterchef last night but couldn't face the food But I don't really fancy anything naughty so at least I can keep an eye on my weight still

Emmsy1 · 19/07/2008 15:32

Mollie its not the SIL who's husband in prison, it's my other one! She always looks a million dollars, hair,make-up,clothes but her house smells a little,it's a dirty smell, bit like some of our customer's can smell I was very apprehensive when she said she was giving me some things, but took them out of politeness, she did mean well, but she is a dirty mare!!

MollieMooma · 19/07/2008 16:07

Emmsy Oh well the thought was there, I know what you mean about the smell I have a friend like that, looks immaculate but her house is a shit pit
Feeling really yuck today, been sick most of the morning, a friend came round to visit and took me to subway where I fell in love and ate TWO 6" subs with turkey and ham in them - what a pig!! It was the only thing I fancied though so that is my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!

Emmsy1 · 19/07/2008 17:40

Mol is the sickness down to eating 2x subs or has morning sickness started yet? I think my started at approx 6 weeks, but the iron in the pregnacare tablets I was taking before 6 weeks would make me feel very ill, had to stop taking them, could soon tell the difference between 'proper' MS as I would feel a little better when I ate something but about an hour later would feel sick again! Hence the size of a house!

Emmsy1 · 19/07/2008 17:49

fruity just checked your link, wow! can't believe I am already 26 weeks +2 days, it doesn't seem like 5 mins since we were all in the main waiting room ttc. Funny that I didn't usually suffer from long cycles, but concieved a 10 days after a 50+ cycle, mibbes also had a really weird cycle at the same time, and you with your pcos, starting to remember a film about a load of kids that were born in a village around the same time, with the same colour hair etc... think it was called village of the damned! really glad were not all due at the same time!

FruitynNutty · 20/07/2008 08:52

I didn't know you conceived on a 50+day cycle!
SParkly's been having weird cycle's too, I wonder if it means anything

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 20/07/2008 08:53

Emmsy MS I think rather than sub sickness Like you said, I feel sick, eat, feel better, feel sick, eat, and so on. The idea of food makes me really ill and my appetite has become the size of a sparrows (the 2 subs did take ages to eat honest )
If I eat until I'm just full I throw up, good for the diet though
