C'mon Emmsy Cricri Mibbes Mollie and our newest member Yarnie (come on, don't be scared )

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FruitynNutty · 16/07/2008 15:25

OMG, hello there stranger! We were wondering where you got to!

Oh poor you with the sickness

I got my BFP (finally) on Friday morning Got my dating scan tomorrow, can't wait!

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 16/07/2008 15:30

Jolly It's fantastic isn't it! I got my BFP 1st July so only 6 wks today, got a reassurance scan next Tuesday. So sorry to hear about your sickness too, I keep asking for MS as a sign everything is OK but I'm sure to regret it! How many weeks are you now?

JollyBear · 16/07/2008 15:35

Oh don't wish for sickness mollie! When I had to be admitted for dehydration the midwives kept telling me it was such a good sign of a healthy baby! I was happy but weeping at how ill I felt. I can understand how feeling a bit sick would be reasurring though. I'm 17 weeks on Friday so have a little bump now.

Oh how very exciting fruity! That pesky egg arrived at last. All that temping paid off in the end That's quick for a scan, are you going private?

FruitynNutty · 16/07/2008 17:23

no not private.
I think my GP was keen to find out how many weeks I am so she wrote a letter for me to take along with me. As I'm on CD63 today (and I told her I didn't know when I ov'd - I don't really) then I could be any number of weeks so I think it's quite important to find out ASAP. I was quite shocked when she suggested going for a scan so quickly. I said "shall I keep the PCOS baseline scan on the 28th july so I can have a dating scan instead?" She said "No, cancel everything, I want you to go tomorrow!"

Found you all Great idea to have our own AN thread.
First of all, congratulations to Yarnie grin] I'm still catching up on our other thread but decided to pop over here first.
Fruity Good luck for your scan tomorrow
JB sorry to hear you've been so sick I had nausea and that was bad enough! Hope it's starting to ease off now. 17 weeks! You'll be feeling movements soon.
Had my 25-week MW appt this afternoon and all is well. Heard baby's hb Bump measures spot on 25cm Back in three weeks for bloods and another appt. It all starts speeding up after that
Hope everybody else is OK this evening

FruitynNutty · 16/07/2008 21:06

Mollie I'm finding that due in March thread really difficult to keep up with. Are you? It seems too busy. I like small threads like ours.

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 16/07/2008 21:09

Ooh, bump measurements sound great! So are you on countdown yet?

I'm really really looking forward to my scan tomorrow, still really scared at the same time I've been trying to find pics of 4 week scans on the net but not found much yet. I'm just curious as to what it will look like. I'm sure it will be just a tiny clump of cells at the moment........... I might check on FF. I think they have scans on their gallery...............................

Well done fruity for opening this ante-natal thread, it will be great to moan talk about symptoms with people you already feel as though you know. Its hard to 'fit in' if you leave it too late to join an ante-natal group who are all due the same time. I was pleased when the sickness kicked in, but got really fed up with it and couldn't wait for it to be over. It's now over but I have terrible heart burn now, after every thing I eat. Funny really when I had sickness, I ate to feel better (it only worked for an hour or so, so put too much weight on) and now I don't want to eat as much cos the heart burn hurts and often makes me feel ill. Really want to have the baby asap to feel ok again, probably start again with the arthritis symptoms then though!

Emmsy1 · 17/07/2008 00:41

I have given sparkly permission to relay the info to all on the thread. Except my tel number and mobile
By Emmsy1 on Thu 17-Jul-08 00:38:11
Tonight I sent sparkly a message, I may decide to leave all the threads on mumsnet because of the message. I have never lied to any one on the thread, but as I have got closer to you all I feel that you should know more about me and my family. I appologise for not being up to expectations, and will understand if you all decide to change the name of the thread, please try and remember that we are only human and I failed my baby brother when I talked to him before he committed jis crime

Emmsy1 · 17/07/2008 00:55

3 Years ago my youngest brother who has learning difficulties was attacked and stabbed for his money. I was the person who gave him the money. He did quite alot of work for me and I paid him more than he expected out of pity.He was attacked and unfortunately stabbed later on in the evening for his money. He was lucky to survive, the police did not charge BILLY COPPELL for his crime as there was not enogh evidence. My other younger brother who has 4 children and who was self employed with his own house stupidly because of the womens moans felt he shoule get revenge. He went to the accused house and stabbed him! He gave him 12 stitches. I feel ashamed that my brother had it in him to do this. But I feel that the women of the family(including me) pushed him into it. He has served 2 years and now I feel that I am being punished more than ever.

Emmsy1 · 17/07/2008 01:06

I know this is irrelevent but he was attacked by a methodone junkie who no longer needed heroine

cricri · 17/07/2008 08:22

Emmsy As Yarnie said on our other thread, you have nothing to apologise for and it is not your fault. Please stay with us. Your support has been invaluable.
Fruity Good luck for your scan today! Hope you see something
I know what you mean about the AN threads - we've got at least 40 ladies on ours and although they're not all regular posters, the thread moves so fast that it's hard to catch up if you leave it a couple of hours. Plus posts get overlooked and questions left unanswered. I much prefer this small thread
Yarnie Is the news sinking in yet?!

Yarnie · 17/07/2008 09:03

Hello!

Just thought I'd dip my toe in the water

It hasn't sunk in at all. I am simultaneously delighted & petrified, as is DF, I think. I thought I'd dreamt the BFP when I woke up this morning(!) Incidentally, I had the most lurid dream last night! Is that normal?!

I'm really hoping the bean sticks. (I assume the worry and fear accompanies the whole pg!).

How is everyone feeling this somewhat drizzly morning? I had cramps last night in bed but feel normal this morning, bar slightly sore (.)(.)

cricri · 17/07/2008 09:13

Yarnie Lurid dreams is one of the many delights of pregnancy! As is the worrying - although once you've had a scan and seen the hb then your chances of a successful pg are very high. Are you going to have an early scan or wait for the usual 12-week dating scan?
I also had cramps in bed but again that's one of the joys of pg
Weather not great here either but I'm going on holiday this afternoon so I don't care Just got a million and one things to sort out before I go, like taking the cat to the cattery (fortunately he's inside asleep so not AWOL as has happened in the past), finishing packing etc.
Hi to everybody else

Yarnie · 17/07/2008 09:18

Cricri Lucky you! Are you going anywhere nice? I could really do with a holiday, but I think we're going to skip it this year. DF will take time off work and we'll do some nice things in London, instead.

I have no idea re: scans. I haven't even made a docs appointment yet. I don't really know what I am eligible for in my area. I don't know anything! Argh!!

Yarnie · 17/07/2008 11:11

I just tried to book in to see my GP for the first time in a gazillion years and it appears that they only release a day at a time, i.e. the day you call. Looks like I am going to be on the phone every morning at 8am trying to snaffle an appointment. Hope it doesn't take too long.

cricri · 17/07/2008 11:54

Don't you just hate that GP system?! Mine doesn't operate like that fortunately. What are you supposed to do if you go out to work - stay home just in case they might be able to fit you in and take a chance? Ridiculous!
Don't get too excited about your first GP appointment btw - they might weigh and measure you but that will be about it. Most don't bother to reconfirm the result of the HPT. It's just to get you "in the system" so to speak. If it's like my GP you'll then be passed onto the midwife and have a booking in appointment at some point. Mine was at 11 weeks this time around. You'll then receive a scan appointment from the hospital for your 12-week scan. There is loads of info on here about all these procedures - I found the AN threads particularly useful. It also varies considerably depending on where you live. I also like this site as it tells you what's supposed to happen week by week.
You'll be fine

cricri · 17/07/2008 11:56

Forgot to mention - I'm off to France We're heading off towards Geneva first of all as friends are having their daughter christened on Sunday and I'm god-mother. Then we'll be driving across to western France which is where my family lives.

MollieMooma · 17/07/2008 12:46

Emmsy I have posted to you on our original thread, how are you feeling?
Yarnie Dreams - definately having some really wierd and lucid ones they make me feel so tired when I wake up! Glad to see you made your way over here [smile
Fruity I know what you mean about our March thread, it's huge! And like CriCri said it's hard when there are so many coz you get unanswered questions and people may feel ignored. I love our new one, can't wait to get the others on here too
cricri France Hope you have a wonderful time, how long will you be away for?

cricri · 17/07/2008 14:10

No news from Fruity yet Hope she got on OK.
I'll be away for just over two weeks Mollie No internet access initially (although there may be at the hotels tonight and tomorrow night) but I'll be back online from Tuesday. I'd better be - I've got work to do whilst I'm away! One of the joys of being freelance... It was my decision though - got to save as much as possible before baby arrives because being self-employed I won't get any maternity leave. Just the paltry £117 a week or whatever it is of Maternity Allowance. So I'll be working mornings and then enjoying some free time and some good weather hopefully It's certainly rubbish here today!

MollieMooma · 17/07/2008 14:34

CriCri Well I hope you have a lovely time and pack some sunshine in your bag to bring back to us instead of this miserable weather. I've got a splitting headache which I think is because it looks like there is a storm brewing.
Wonder where Fruity is??????

FruitynNutty · 17/07/2008 14:55

Hey guys, I'm back!!!! Sorry, busy busy morning

Well, Scan went well. Like you lot said though, I didn't see much. I'm only just under 5 weeks (just as I thought) so only saw the pregnancy sac which looked just like a tiny black hole in my uterus. I found this on FF not very exciting

So pleased you made it over here Yarnie What a sweet way to tell DF Well done for waiting to tell him, I don;t know how you did it!
Emmsy

FruitynNutty · 17/07/2008 14:57

Forgot to say, one good thing is, it's not ectopic so that's one thing out of my mind. Apparently when scanning so early they have to query it.
I've got another scan booked for 2 weeks time. I imagine to check it's still there as it's too early to access viability.

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 17/07/2008 15:15

Fruity really pleased all went well, and you get another one in two weeks that's brilliant, it will keep your mind at ease.
x

Yarnie · 17/07/2008 16:38

Thanks for the info, Cricri. That's good to know. I am very envious of your trip to Geneva and w. France. How lovely .

Fruity So pleased the scan went well. I bet you feel better now! I have all that to look forward to

Hope everyone is feeling well.
