Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Yarnie · 18/09/2008 17:35

Just sticking my head in to say "Hello!". As usual, I've not been in front of my laptop much. I've been getting down to the serious business of trying to sort the house out(!) I feel like I've been at it for weeks, but I'm finally starting to see the results.

I'm afraid I won't be there on Saturday, as DF has arranged something for my birthday. It's a shame I won't get to meet you lovely ladies, but I shall think of you! Have a great time

Everything's fine on the pg front. I had another bleed, but a scan showed all is well. I've probably been overdoing it. It was lovely to see the bean again, albeit in stressful circumstances.

Hope you're all well and happy.

cricri · 19/09/2008 11:36

I'm still here
Yarnie Sorry to hear you had another bleed - take it easy and put your feet up! At least you got to see your bean again though. Hope you have a good day tomorrow with DF and sorry you can't make the meet-up. Another time!
Hope everybody else is OK - Teehee you're right, we do need more graduates - fingers crossed it will happen for some of the girls on the other thread very soon.
Everything is fine here - I'm not exactly nesting at the moment yet. We've bought all the baby stuff but can't seem to get motivated to sort out the room yet. Made a start last week and sorted out all the baby clothes we've been given into baskets to put in the wardrobe and I also gave the walls a touch-up with the paint but I then ground to a halt... The wallpaper border I ordered arrived yesterday so I just need to get some paste and put that up on Sunday and then DH can put the cot together and it might seem a bit more real

FruitynNutty · 20/09/2008 19:02

Boo!

Yarnie Great to see you. Shame you couldn't make the meet-up. Was a lovely day
Glad everything's ok with Beany.

cricri · 22/09/2008 11:32

Hi Sambrads Wow, 8 days to go, the time has flown by! I'm 34+2 at the moment so also on the final countdown.
Everything is going fine - I have a scan on Thursday just to check the baby's renal dilation which was picked up at the 20 week scan. However, I had a 4D scan a few weeks ago which showed it had reduced significantly so fingers crossed that is still the case. I also need to have a swab for GBS on Wednesday and provided that is clear then I can have my homebirth MW came round yesterday to chat to us about it and officially book me in so fingers crossed I can order my pool at the end of the week.
Otherwise everything is fine - hope it is for you too. We'll be looking out for your birth announcement in due course but keep us posted if there are any developments!
I met Fruity and some of the other girls from the thread for lunch on Saturday and it was lovely

sambrads · 22/09/2008 12:35

i am hoping to have a water birth at the mlu ward in hospital i am definately going for natural as i had ds there but i will keep my options open as you can never plan things

FruitynNutty · 22/09/2008 13:13

WOW Sam I can't believe you only have 8 days left Has it gone as quick for you as it has for me?

I'm about to book tickets for The Baby Show at Earls Court for Sat 18th October. Anyone fancy coming along? I always come back loaded with freebies and cheap kids xmas presents, well worth it!

OP posts:
sambrads · 22/09/2008 14:45

i went to the the baby show in belfast yesterday it was very good got loads of freebies from cow and gate

the pregnancy has gone quick but i think if i am still here by next tuesday then the 10 days over due will crack me up !!!
i was induced with ds and 10 days felt like 10 weeks!!!!

FruitynNutty · 22/09/2008 14:49

Being overdue is not fun but at least it's not really hot. My ds was 12 days over due in a heatwave. Born on 26th June. That was really mean! He still didn't want to come out by himself, I too had to be induced I'm so pleased this next one is due in the Spring. I just hope we don't get a random heatwave in March

Keep us updated!

Maybe with another Graduate we will get some posts on this thread - when your ready Mollie

MollieMooma · 27/09/2008 09:27

Not to sure about being over here again but I'd like some advice and don't want to go on and on on or other thread
What do you think about scans? GP said I could have what I want, originally thought I'd wait until 8 wks as our danger zone is 5-7 wks, and didn't want to see HB and be disappointed again. Bt now I think maybe I should have 6 and 8 before dating scan. What do you all think?
Thanks girls

teeheelaydee · 28/09/2008 09:20

Hi Mollie If you like we can just pretend this is not an AN thread!

I'm really undecided about scans as when I have one approaching I get really negative. I had one at what we thought at the time was 6 weeks and 8 weeks.

They were actually 5 & 7, but when I had the one at 5 they weren't able to tell this and I have to say it upset me more just to see an empty sac. But the one at 7 weeks was fine, still not much to see but I think the heartbeat makes a huge difference. If I had the choice again I think I would wait until 8 weeks. I just feel they change so much at that stage that a few days can either reassure you or worry you.

Hope you get the gist of that!

FruitynNutty · 01/10/2008 20:28

Well I used to love scans but I really had no idea how wrong they can go when I was pregnant with DS. Now, I get excited about them then when the day approaches, I'm scared silly. I'm even nervous about my antenatal appointment tomorrow in case they can't find a HB

You wouldn't believe what I'm stuffing down my neck right now. Such an unhealthy day. I'm having beans and cheese on toast with frankfurters and guess what I had for lunch? A POT NOODLE! I think I need some nutrients. What's wrong with me? Why can't my body crave what it needs? I should be craving lettuce and broccoli and fresh food.

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 07/10/2008 18:08

Pot noodle lunch again today 3 for the price of 2 in Sainsburys. Ever so highly nutritious you know

My belly seems to have gone from hard to soft and flabby, what the hell is going on? I just feel fat now

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 08/10/2008 19:52

Hi Fruity - sorry haven't been around but you are not talking to yourself.

I also feel fat- I definately think most of my bump is wind or the fact that I can't go to the loo for days at a time - sorry tmi.

Saw my boss for the first time in weeks and he said I was showing - I thought you cheeky bastard I am not!!

FruitynNutty · 09/10/2008 13:27

Ah!!!! I have company

I was beginning to rock back a forth banging my head against a wall.

I ordered some maternity skinny black jeans from Next. Skinny my arse! They're all saggy, don't hold my thighs in and the ankles are more like bootcut.
Bloody hate Next clothes, they never ever fit properly. Thought I'd be ok with the maternity department. I also bought the top so I'm supposed to look like this but I don't. Also the top is supposed to gape a little at the chest but it doesn't. I hate the way these designers assume just because you're preggers you will automatically get big boobs. I once thought that though, it's all bloody crap. All I'm asking for is a small cleavage is that too much to ask for?

I'm going to try and order the smaller size'd jeans to see if they are any less saggy. I probably won't get them past my thighs though

You ok Teehee? Are you going to find out what you're having at your 20 weeker?

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 11/10/2008 09:06

Hiya- yes I am fine and getting to desperate measures with clothes but just keep putting off getting maternity stuff. I don't really look pg just a bit plump so feel like a fraud in the maternity departments and kinda want to try stuff on so I don't have your issue. Might drag DP along. Will have to order maternity uniform as trousers are now sooo uncomfy. A week ago I had the button undone now it is the button and some of the zip and they are still uncomfortable. I think I just want nothing but elastic on my belly.

I did try on a pair of Next boyfriend cut jeans which were OK but Mamas and Papas have a bigger range and they were the same price - well £2/£5 more so might go there. Have you tried e-bay for maternity stuff.

My Bf who is due at end of Dec has been given a load of clothes from our fairly well off friend which apparently is all really good Mamas & Papas/Blooming Marvellous stuff which will be coming my way after Nat has had bean! Our friend said she didn't want back and to give to charity but BF said No way I'll give it to Teehee and then BF's sister when she is pg again! They are both tall though so it will only be the tops I can use I think.

I keep changing my mind about finding out the sex. I think I am going to try not too as it is our first but I am really tempted. Will you? Yours must be in a couple of weeks.

FruitynNutty · 12/10/2008 10:47

I'm going to find out the sex, I just can't wait. I was going to leave it for a surprise but I felt like I really bonded with DS knowing what he was. Instead of saying "it" I could say "he/him" which seemed to make it a lot more real.
It would be lovely to hear the words "it's a boy/girl" at the delivery but we'll have that just a bit early
I need to stop getting excited about all the girly things I see in the shops. If it's a boy I can use all of DS's bits
We will find out in 4 1/2 weeks
I think I felt Button move last night, felt like a flutter. I also felt it this mornign when lying on my side in bed. I've felt something before but I'm pretty sure it was just a trapped nerve or wind or something. I won't be completely convinced until I feel a real kick though.

I can't believe I'm 17 weeks already

OP posts:
mibbes · 12/10/2008 17:24

Fruity great news that you have started feel the Button move already , do you have a 20 wk scan date yet ? I saw a pic of your bump on FB and it is teeny ! You are barely showing atall - lucky you ! Enjoy it while it lasts hun xx

FruitynNutty · 12/10/2008 18:29

Bloody hell, I feel HUGE! I think that picture was taken at a funny angle because most people are amazed at how big my bump is already when they see me in real life.

My scan is in 4 1/2 weeks time and I can't wait!

OP posts:
teeheelaydee · 29/10/2008 08:13

Hi Fruity - Just a quicky to bump this one to the top so that you can find it.

Know what you mean about posting pg stuff in the waiting room. Some of them are really going through it and it just feels wrong somehow.

16+4 today and now have some clothes that fit - yeah. No flutterings yet though

scully · 08/11/2008 11:52

Hello ladies, can I join you on here
Got a bfp today, will be 5wks on Tues, so EDD is around 16 July.
How weird is this, last time I got a BFP was the week of my EDD back in Feb, same this time as well, would have been 2nd EDD this week.
Obviously very apprehensive but happy as well. Not sure if I will check my hcg levels this time, as nothing is confirmed until an 8wks scan anyway, so may as well just wait for that I think.
Anyway, I'm off to bed, dh outside drinking with friends, as I'm sober I've lost interest in their stories

mibbes · 08/11/2008 12:42

OMG scully fabulous news hun take it easy and relax as mush as possible - you have a great excuse . Am so pleased for you xx

teeheelaydee · 08/11/2008 16:50

Hurrah - the thread is alive!!! Thank you Scully for giving it the kiss of life.

Have been thinking of you this afternoon and hoping you are doing OK. It's so exciting to have some more BFP's and am keeping it all crossed.

scully · 01/12/2008 03:49

Hi ladies, thought I'd put a little update on here as well, that I had a scan today and all looked good. 8wks exactly today, so edd is now 13 July. Feel relief more than anything, still hasn't quite sunk in though I don't think, I had prepared myself for bad news today, so it was a good surprise when it was good news instead.
Still feeling crappy most of the time and the heat here isn't helping. Definitely easy hiding a changing shape under winter clothes than summer, but at least dd1's school finishes this week for summer holidays so I can avoid a lot of people until the end of January
Any news from Mibbes yet?
