Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
cricri · 23/07/2008 16:33

Mollie Sorry to hear you're still suffering. There's a whole bunch of stuff you can try (eat little and often, ice lollies, acupressure bands etc) but tbh I didn't find any of them worked for me. Not what you wanted to hear I'm sure but may be worth a try
Mibbes My friend over here gave me her support belt but I have seen them in the UK too. Try Mothercare or just google pregnancy support belts. It really has helped today - looks like I'll be wearing it all the time now
Emmsy I've started getting really breathless too and this hot weather doesn't help (30 degrees here today). DH wondered what on earth I'd been doing when I came upstairs this morning and could barely speak.
Fruity Are you one of those people who can sleep anywhere?! I don't think I could manage to nap with kids around. Hope you're not feeling too rough with the tiredness - mine only lifted a couple of weeks ago and it's nice to have some energy again. I'm making the most of it because I think it may disappear again towards the end
I will definitely post piccies of the 4D scan don't worry

cricri · 24/07/2008 07:29

Mibbes Just to add to what I said yesterday about support belts, this is the one I have and Blooming Marvellous do something similar here According to the Anita.com website BM also stock the first belt but I couldn't find it. They are available from other internet shops if you click on "stockists" on the LH side.
Hope everybody else is OK this morning It's less hot over here today fortunately - didn't sleep well at all last night because it was so hot.

FruitynNutty · 24/07/2008 09:11

Bloody hell am I tired or what! I feel like if I close my eyes for a second I might just drift off. Not good when I've got a 20 month old, a 3 year old, a 9 year old and a 4 month old . Thankfully the 9 year old is very good at entertaining the younger ones. Not sure if I have the energy today to be smiling and cooing constantly. Although I probably will cos my friend's 4 month old is just adorable!

How's everyone today? Yarnie any symptoms yet?

MollieMooma · 24/07/2008 10:43

Hi guys, still feeling dreadful, went to GP this morning she gave me tablets for the sickness but said she can do nothing about the IBS so I made an executive decision to finish at lunchtime today and have tomorrow off to and sort myself out. Hopefully by Monday I will be bouncing around like a spring chicken
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions, much appreciated and I will definately try ice lollies they sound nice
Fruity Tiredness - great isn't it? I had an interview that failed to attend yesterday so I snuck off to the first aid room and had a nana nap for 15 mins, felt much better
Hope everyone else is OK
Yarnie How are things for you?

Yarnie · 25/07/2008 07:31

Hi everyone.

I've posted properly on the other thread but in brief, no real news from me. Still very little in the way of symptoms, except for sore boobs. I'm clinging on to my one little symptom! Thankfully, I never get sore boobs in non-pg mode, so at least I can tell things are a bit different

FruitynNutty · 25/07/2008 09:18

Morning

I'm still mega tired. No other symptoms what so ever. I haven't even gone off coffee, which I did with DS. Trying to limit my caffeine though to one cup a day and the rest de-caff

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 25/07/2008 09:42

Morning girls, I'm enjoying my day off today I've only just got up
Can't face any breakfast but not feeling too sick just don't want to eat. I've decided not to take those tablets (after I googled them!) I'm going to see if I can sort myself out in the 3 days I've got off work.
I'm sure the symptoms will start flooding in for you two very soon

MollieMooma · 25/07/2008 09:57

Will somebody please slap me
I'm not feeling half as bad as yesterday so now I'm panicking that my MS may only have lasted one week (although that was long enough!) surely that's not right???
Looked at the March thread and a few others have had the same but you know me olympic worrier

cricri · 25/07/2008 18:52

Mollie Don't panic! Ms can be aggravated by tiredness so if you're having a lazy day then it's good that the symptoms have eased off a bit. It doesn't mean anything else, please don't worry. Keep trying to eat little and often - plain food should help like crackers and toast. Don't worry about your body not getting the right nutrients - my normally healthy(ish) diet went right out of the window when I was nauseous. You make up for it afterwards
Yarnie Good to hear from you. I think it was Mibbes who had very few symptoms. Again it doesn't mean anything. You might be one of these lucky women who have no symptoms so enjoy it
Hope everybody else is OK this evening. The weather here is rubbish! Sounds like it's better in the UK.

MollieMooma · 26/07/2008 09:10

I love my bands I love my bands! I've got the travel sickness bands on and I actually feel human and I can move around. Highly recommended to Fruity & Yarnie if you get this horrible MS
Super Bands

Yarnie · 26/07/2008 10:24

Mollie So glad the bands are working for you That must be such a relief, especially in the warm weather.

Thanks for the reassurance Cricri! I am so neurotic!

I got in to Queen Charlotte's! I am completely thrilled as my GP set me up to be disappointed. It's a real weight of my shoulders. I've heard that St Mary's is closing it's maternity unit. It's never been rated too highly, but it's going to put pressure on all the local units, I bet.

My booking in is on 26 August, but I won't get my first scan until some time after that .

How are you feeling this morning, Fruity? Once I've had some kind of professional reassurance that everything is ok, I guess I might be able to settle back and enjoy the lack of symptoms. How about you?

Hope you're well and happy this fine morning, Emmsy and Mibbes.

Emmsy1 · 27/07/2008 07:59

Hi ladies, hope all are feeling ok today!
Mollie glad your bands are working, wish I would have thought of them when I was getting M/S
Yarnie You will be just fine young lady, try not to fret, lack of syptoms is 'GOOD', ask Mollie! You have plenty of time to develop symptoms, I don't recall having any M/S with previous 2 children, and was jogging and feeling as though I wasn't pregnant, they were my 2 heavier baby's and DD is by far the brightest!
Don't want any of you young girls to laugh at me now, especially you fruity but bought a pair of dungarees yesterday from Mothercare I haave always wanted a pair since I was a little girl and used to watch the Waltons, they are so comfy, also got a pair of brushed cotton comfy trousers and a few tops, all paid for on my Mothercare card! The low waist, tightly ribbed waist bands, that I have been wearing were getting too uncomfortable, especially when I sat down, they would start my side pains off, just couldn't bear it anymore. Must go now, starting to feel hungry xxx

cricri · 27/07/2008 09:59

Mollie Really pleased you've found the bands helpful, it's such a relief isn't it when the ms stops. Hope they continue to work whilst you're at work. If you need to go home early then do so - baby comes first
Emmsy I'm with you on the comfort front and there's nothing wrong with dungarees It's no good if your clothes are causing you pain so you need to feel comfortable. I'm sat here in my yoga pants and I just change when I'm about to go out I've already warned DH that it will get worse towards the end! I'm surprised that my non-maternity tops still fit (stretchy ones anyway) but I'm not complaining!
Hope everybody is having a good Sunday

FruitynNutty · 27/07/2008 10:00

lol Emmsy DUNGEREES!!! I'm sure they're very very comfy My friend had to wear Dungerees when she was preg as she had put on 5 stone She looked like a giant Telly Tubby hahaha. I'm sure you look gorgeous Emmsy

I thought I was feeling a little nauseous yesterday but I think it was all the rich food I ate Feel fine today. Just tired as usual. I tell you what though. My left boob is huge now Looks really swollen. Especially the nipple area. It's weird cos when preg b4 it did the same. My left one grew and my right didn't really Also, (and I barely produced any milk anyway but) my right boob had even less milk than my left. It's always been smaller too. I wonder if it just doesn't work at all
I tell you, if I don't produce any milk this time I will be furious! I will produce whether my crappy body wants to or not! Still, can't complain, I'm lucky I can have babies at all so BFing would be a real bonus (come on body!) I might actually see if there's some sort of medication I can take before I give birth. Bloody PCOS is not going to have the last laugh!

MollieMooma · 27/07/2008 11:07

Yarnie Glad you got the unit you wanted
Emmsy Dungarees!!! Please please post a picture I have such a picture in my head of you as the perfect earth mother. Like the others have said comfort is the main thing hun x
Fruity My left (.)(.) is bigger than the right too, and the other night it was all swollen and lumpy around the nipple, very odd! My underwire bra is starting to hurt a bit so might have to get a non-wired granny one next

FruitynNutty · 27/07/2008 11:39

I'm so hot. I've got all my windows wide open and there's still no breeze I'm going to stick my head in the freezer

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 27/07/2008 11:45

My friend sent me this picture of a 6 weeks old embryo I can't believe I have such a cute little thing in there Wasn't so cute a week ago if you remember the link I posted! I can't stop looking at the picture! Yarnie you're at the same stage as me, isn't it amazing, we have these tiny little people inside us

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 27/07/2008 19:18

I feel sick

OP posts:
MollieMooma · 28/07/2008 11:11

Is that because of what you've eaten or has the dreaded MS caught you??

FruitynNutty · 28/07/2008 12:45

not sure actually Mollie Don't feel so sick today just headache and very tired. Gonna nap when kids in bed this afternoon.

OP posts:
cricri · 28/07/2008 14:16

Hope you feel better soon Fruity It could just be the heat - I often get a headache when it's muggy and hot. Nap with the kids sounds like a good idea
How are you managing back at work today Mollie? Are the bands still working?

MollieMooma · 28/07/2008 15:14

Fruity Like CriCri said I get headaches when it's so muggy, there is supposed to be a big thunderstorm tonight starting at the bottom of the country and working it's way up so hopefully that will clear the air and make you feel better. Of course if your feeling low about DP anyway, that doesn't help. Very of your nap, had a little power nap every day since Thursday now I'm back at work, can't seem to fit them in Don't think my customers would be too happy
Cricri Me and my super bands are still smiling! Really hope the effect doesn't wear off, I was ill last night before I went to bed but I can cope with one off instances it was the all day all of the time nauseousness that was poo!

FruitynNutty · 28/07/2008 15:24

I know why I've got a headache. It's from the stupid tears last night My hormones aren't helping either. Still, can't complain, I've been looking forward to this moment for such a long time. I'm so glad I've got you lovely lot to get excited with

OP posts:
FruitynNutty · 28/07/2008 15:27

That nap was lovely BTW but I'm still tired. Kids up now so I'm off to play some games and read some stories
Bye for now
