That's lovely cc.

off to bed now - we've just watched last night's midsomer hope i CAN sleep after that!

Lol at consternation caused by shagging pipes!!!!!!

Hope bealcain is ok.....

VintageGardenia · 22/07/2008 05:26

Uuurgh can't sleep.

Borrowing Sazzles's teapot & opening for brekker.

ataraxis good news. But LOL at backs of legs not backs of other stuff!

TS had it been the doc who suggested checking the cervix or had you just thought that it might happen? Isn't it unusual not to do a planned check? When are you meant to go back, normal 7 days or quicker? If your doctor thinks you ought to be setting off labour maybe oops has the answer - having a wax has got to be less tiring than grocery shopping! When do you hit 37 weeks?

VintageGardenia · 22/07/2008 05:26

Woozy - TS sorry for all the q's.

Expectant · 22/07/2008 06:39

Just dropping in to say hello as haven't been on for a while. All ok here except still at work one more week to go after this....

Any news from Ilana yet? Very excited to hear news of our first on the list.

Ataraxis - good news on the scan.

Albs - Midsomer is one of the few programmes watchable here - don't think I'd ever watched it in the UK but is filmed not too far from where my parents live. Hope you don't have nightmares!

Talking of which they've just announced that they've booked flights for Christmas which will be nice for them to spend with their first grandchild.

Due to my inability to sleep for more than 45 minutes at a time DH has officially left the marital bed - we bought him a nice new bed last week and that's where he now lives

Hello Expectant - I only have to work until the end of this week as my employers have taken some time off and so Am lucky to get en extra 2 weeks - or I would be working to the 10th August.

Buckets · 22/07/2008 08:12

Big slices of lemon drizzle birthday cake all round! I am 32yrs old 37wks pg today. Already had coffee and bacon buttie in bed, got schoolrun, car in for service then this coffee morning for parents of autistic kids which should be a nice safe place to let Noah off the lead anyway.
Think lunch out with him is probably on the cards too (as long as he doesn't fall in love with the place and refuse to leave.) Oh and I think DH is expecting takeaway this evening but he might just have to settle for a shag.
Ah, life is sweet. Apart from the niggling threat of that buttock-ache that has me in tears when it kicks in. Does anyone else get that or is it just me? Just the right buttock (baby is ALL on the right, might have something to do with it.)

Hope everyone has a nice day and weather satys glorious too.

pregnancy1 · 22/07/2008 08:17

Oh Sarah enjoy the reflexology. My neighbour was telling me that her daughter and two of her friends all went to see one whilst pregnant and all had nice easy births. I should get the details really.....

Still at home as I have a midwife appt at 09:30 and I'll go into work after that. Currenty on hold waiting to find out how our remortgage is progressing(or whatever you call it when your lovely low deal runs out and you have to sign up to a much higher one ). AH the joy of terrible on hold music....

All my thoughts are with all those going through tough times and/or contractions xx

pregnancy1 · 22/07/2008 08:19

Happy Birthday sazzles!!
I'll make some muffins after work this evening in your honour x

Morning all
Don't know what came over my dh last night but he came home, made dcs packed lunch and dinner and then our dinner . However this was all ruined by him getting the invoices from nursery which were completely and utterly wrong again. He then spent most of the evening shouting at me about it - can't seem to persuade him that getting apopleptic with rage isn't going to achieve much. He also said he is feeling a 'poor 4th' at the moment in the family - he has never said this before and I'm not quite sure how to deal with it!

Buckets I have right buttock arse ache too. It is from sleeping on that side and the sheer weight I think! Stretching exercises would help if I had the time!

Happy Birthday - is it you or Sazzles or both?!

PetitFilou1 · 22/07/2008 09:12

The other thing I wanted to ask - those of you with dcs already - should I organise dd's bday party (have decided on our garden with bouncy castle) for 30 August (five days after due date) or for 6 September (two weeks after due date). Can't decide which is better, holding party with newborn around or when very pregnant - but I suspect the former. My sister has said she will take over if I actually go into labour. Ds was a week late and dd a week early so I have no idea when this one is going to pop really....

alittlebitshy · 22/07/2008 09:23

pf either way you could have a newborn couldn't you? I think I'd perhaps go for the former when there is a smaller chance of baby having arrived... what a decision to have to make though. Good luck! Also - sorry your dh spent the eve ranting. And ranting at you for somethng you have no control over. tch. men.

sazz brave lady doing your various waxings!! I'm off to get my eyebrows threaded in a while (currently still in dressing gown, needing shower, and dd still in nightie so it might be a bit of a while).
Lots of luck with your appt. Hope you make the decision that makes you happy

expectant How lovely to know when your parents are visiting. are you excited? Midsomer - yay! Dh and I, as well as watching the new ones on tv, are working our way through the back list via the amazon rental thingy. Similarly with Morse. we love a bit of detective drama!!

Buckets happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear bucketssssssssssssss, happy birthday to you. Ouch re arse ache. I have a pain on one side of the bottom of my back -poss similar. It has me screeching in pain sometimes and dh having to yell from other end of house "you ok" - presumably checking i've not gone inot labour or something.

Need to have shower. In a mo....... honest......

Well, i've never seen them do it cos I'm always lying on the bed thingy, but it involves thread (i think a bit thicker than cotton) and then knowing where to put thread to yank out the hairs. Having had it done for about a year now I think it hurts less than waxing.... found this

stillhere · 22/07/2008 09:44

Couldn't get on here last night so have had to spend 30 minutes catching up... phew!

Dizzy thinking of you and sending you big hugs. Take it easy on yourself - I can't imagine what it's like to have to deal with all the things you're dealing with at the moment. Lots of positive thoughts coming your way.

Gigglegirl we sound like we're having parallel experiences with boxes of dusty stuff hiding out in inaccessible places... I just asked DH to dig out very dusty steriliser, baby gym etc. yesterday and started to try and make things clean but it's a bit impossible as the house is still a building site. I'm sure it will all happen before the big day though.

Does anyone know how IlanaK went yesterday?

All this talk of hair has made me almost get off my arse and book a haircut. Ooh the power of MN!

Have good days everyone - apparently it's nice and sunny everywhere else in the country but not here. Sigh!

Happy birthday Buckets! Cakey goodness all round, and here, have this large chilled and fizzing glass of champagne while you're at it

AnnVan I too am pinging with excitement over The Dark Knight - been waiting so long for it to come out, I can hardly wait till next week to see it at last (am in London all this week so will go to the cinema with DP when I'm back home). Definitely want to see Wall-E too, so might even make two trips in quick succession. This will be an impressive achievement for me, I'm usually rubbish at going to the cinema (too lazy).

Also can't wait to get my hair cut next week (roll on payday). My fringe is out of control, I look like a madwoman peering through some bushes.

Spent yesterday afternoon visiting an old friend and her adorable 7 month old - he is the cutest, cuddliest, smiliest baby I think I've ever seen. Even when he sicked on me he did it with a smile. So now I've had my first taste of smelling like milky vom...it's not so bad.

pregnancy1 · 22/07/2008 10:41

Oh dear - pregnancy brain hits in again Huge apologies... Have a fabulous birthday buckets

Midwife appt went fine, bar the fact that she told me I had just started to put on weight around my face.... how is that supposed to help ? Picked up a decaff latte and a chocolate chunk shortbread on the way into to work to help me get over my fat face!

pertelote · 22/07/2008 10:51

Happy birthday Buckets! Gorgeous cake. Hope you have a fabulous day!

I am feeling moderately organised today - we now have nappies and a sling, and I have just ordered a mattress for the antique and therefore bizarrely-sized moses basket. (We have a cot as well so it's not a disaster if the baby arrives before the mattress!) This is week 3 of ML (actually week 1, the last two were technically holiday) and I am definitely feeling more able to do stuff rather than just sitting around...

{{Hugs}} to all those with random pains, difficult family situations and older LOs to run around after - don't know how you manage it...

PetitFilou1 · 22/07/2008 10:51

Ok sazzles and albs on your heads be it - 30 August it is then!

Been to midwife appt today - LOVELY midwife, really hope I get her for my homebirth but could be one of twelve of them... She did my anti D and then offered to check ds2. Hooray - turns out he is head down after all although has unengaged himself. Still some uncertainty but she said if he is still head down next week then he will probably stay that way. So I'm feeling quite positive about that.
