I think I will have another glass of lime cordial before tackling the kitchen. The worst temptation has struck, DP has left two cigarettes in the kitchen...
I will try not to think about them

Ah but Sazzles I imagine you're an expert at the multitasking, a professional lady such as you. Feel rather in awe of you after seeing your job on FB

Yup, weather supposed to be brill this week so enjoy it ladies!
Nodding head at washing piles - i NEVER have empty linen baskets - it just doesn't happen.
AnnVann - Charger will be somewhere very useful like in a socket behind a bed, behind a cupboard - somewhere you can't see or reach, or even better, DP has taken it with him!

What shower gel for hospital bag please? I know it is extremely trivial but am doing my online shop, could not be bothered to take DC shopping along with busy DH looking at watch, answering phone every 2mins, getting stressed so here i am now... Have decided that the shower gels i have are all too strong, very perfumey, just want something i can get in supermarket that is not too heavy.
Anyone? Will hang around a bit and see. Anything else i need? ....

Facebook - how would i find you all?

miamla · 21/07/2008 17:41

hi guys, sorry, didn't mean to worry anyone with my absence! I seem to have lost the ability of normal sleep patterns. I'm regularly waking at 4am every morning and then need a snooze in the afternoon. Couple that with lots of visitors popping in and phoning because they assume I'm bored along with painting the nursery and i'm afraid my MN time disappeared!

Nursery is looking really funky but i have to stop doing the intricate bits when i have the painful BHs! lots of feelings of knitting needles stabbing me and cant remember who it was but there's a yes from me to rusty lid being turned as well. People are still saying how little I look so my standard response is "well we know baby's a good size and that's all that matters" Seems to shut them up nicely

sorry to hear all those suffering with aches and pains. i'm continuing to be amazed at how little pain i'm in. sorry, don't mean to rub it in but i was warned by a consultant that because of the breaks, my back wouldn't be to cope v well with pregnancy. Ha ha, i proved them wrong..again! long story but i was told to learn to live with a life of pain and that it would never get better. I didn't accept this as an answer so kept fighting until i found someone who would help. hey ho

soooo, we're having our first baby today! how exciting! hmm but this means that my time is getting closer. When does the burst of energy arrive? i want to finish painting the nursery and I haven't even started on sanding down my oak table yet!

ooh and i strongly recommend getting your legs and ladygarden trimmed. DP did mine yesterday and i feel so much more human and ladylike again

right, back to the painting... stay well everyone, i hope all the pains be it physical, emotional or DCs, starting easing at least a little

VintageGardenia · 21/07/2008 17:41

Ann I am sublimating my desire for alcohol into a glass of lime cordial too! I multitasked having a nap with getting my last little bit of work done... oh except I didn't do the work...

Anyway I find multitasking vastly overrated, you never accomplish any of the tasks properly. For a good solid nap you can't be thinking about work...

DS's nap days ended about 7 years ago even the froggy fellow wouldn't induce him to sleep during the day. PS TS it's not important but my handsome, clever, affectionate and all round magnificent DS is 10 now, for the accuracy of your list. [maternal pride emoticon]

3 days albs! In my book that translates roughly as "Leave the shagging bathroom pipes alone". Watch a nice period drama dvd or lie in the bath for an hour - get your last bit of rest in. Move away from the cleaning products. Are you excited?

VintageGardenia · 21/07/2008 17:45

ChaCha and pf if no-one has already answered the FB thing, email me at [email protected] and we will get you sorted.

miamla good to have you back and great to hear things have been so manageable for you on the physical front (or back, ha ha). Sounds like you've done a fab job on your nursery, am very at own lack of effort but I AM making bunting.

OK I'll say your name - Sazzles. LOL at you recommending that ChaCha gets E45 just so that you can use it for your DD. Honestly! Some people!

ChaCha · 21/07/2008 18:01

Thanks ladies, and LOL at VG and advice to ALBS - i would very much like a VG here to sit and tell me to do that...DH is going on about a Batman film..not interested at all..What is it with grown men and Batman?!? I'd like to sit and watch something with a bag of salted popcorn and big icy coke...

Will send email now.

ChaCha - blasphemy! Dark Knight {drools} can't wait, am going to see it next weekend. I have never liked Batman films until Batman Begins came out and OMG!!!! 1 - Christian Bale is a very tasty batman {drools again} 2 awesome storyline, effects, acting (except for Katie Holmes, and Bonus! she has been replaced by Maggie Gyllenhaal for this one) 3 Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker isbeing tipped for posthumous Oscars, and the trailers so far seem to bear this out!

Sorry rant over. Funnily enough my DP is not remotely bothered about watching it!! hehe

Have had lime cordial and still can't face the kitchen. Might have another one and THEN I will do it. Have to as DP has left work, and I should get some of it done by the time he gets back

ChaCha · 21/07/2008 18:19

Quickie - what milk chocolate do you suggest for the traybake pls? Need to order.
Cant imagine cooking choc be that nice. Green and blacks...maybe?
Tis for nigella's malteser traybake.

VintageGardenia · 21/07/2008 18:20

Bunting is just simple fabric bunting in triangles.

Was thinking of making something like this too but don't know.

VintageGardenia · 21/07/2008 18:21

comme ca

VintageGardenia · 21/07/2008 18:23

I made with G&B milk, was good. Did find it sweet though.

Buckets · 21/07/2008 18:28

Sazzles well done having a nap routine, will come in handy with 2 under 2. My eldest just fell asleep anywhere to begin with but by 20m (when DS arrived) she would only sleep in the car or pushchair. My mum used to come out regularly and drive her round the block! Quickly learnt my lesson and DS wasn't given a choice about being put down for naps.

Oh Annvan what a pig of a DH - if mine left fags in the kitchen I'd have to flush them (or smoke them.) I went nuts at him for leaving some out in his music/playroom and he's been a bit more discreet since. I don't mind him leaving rolling stuff but real cigarettes is just cruel. I haven't lost the craving at all this pregnancy, the other two were easy.

Re shaving/waxing etc, I managed to trim my lady garden in the bath last night. I found that as long as the razor didn't touch my skin, I could kind of 'thin out' the hair at least, grim reaper style. Managed to shave legs too just about.

AnnVan · 21/07/2008 18:32

Buckets - I'm a rollie girl, so I have been able to resist the ciggie temptation (just about) was still hard work though.

Must try these tips for lady garden. DP won't help so might just have to go gorrilla (eurgh) until the bump disappears
