Spotty your son is so cute! Espescially dressed as a pumpkin!

No experience of the sickness here I'm afraid but every morning when I wake up I have a very protruding bump, but only on the left hand side... There doesn't seem to be anything on my right hand side.

Is this odd or is it just he's not big enough yet?

spottyshoes · 10/08/2008 11:14

Aw Thanks MS. You must still have access to my profile from our Katybumper days Need to update the pics and add on several more names now!

I also get a left handed bump. Do you think they 'fall' to one side depending how we sleep as I always wake up on my left.

MarkStretch · 10/08/2008 11:50

Maybe, I always sleep on my left but I often wake up thinking I must be squashing him!

Guess all our weight loss plans are out of the window now eh spotty! We'll try again next year...

Am 14+1 now, was hoping to feel a bit of movement by now. Have had a few flutterings but nothing definate.

rosieposey · 10/08/2008 12:00

Didnt do hen night after all as quite simply couldnt be arsed Did however take and pick up DP to stag night - he was horribly drunk and did make me laugh even though it was half past two in the morning, feel like poo today though as need more sleep i think.

Seriously considering a curry buffet for sunday lunch after reading all those post above about curry ... I am not craving anything in particular except soup and appletise but i really really fancy a curry!

spottyshoes · 10/08/2008 17:23

I feeeeeeeeeeel siiiiiiiick I'm so erm...sick....of it

I did quite well on the weight loss and am 1/2 stone lighter than when I fell pg before. Have a feeling i'll be using it up quite quickly though the amount of junk i've been eating!

I have felt familiar flutterings too MS but cant wait for the big hefty kicks

Very impressed you picked you dh up rosieposey! Mine hinted and was told quite sternly to bugger off.

at all the curry talk! guess i'm going to bed feeling sick and hungry again tonight. sigh

Hope everyone has had a good weekend

Hello ! I am around PT !

Have been away since Friday to posh hotel with one of my lovely friends who is getting married in 7 weeks.....we ate and rested and were pampered ! Not my usual thing, bt very lovely all the same

Now back home and we have a dishwasher that my mum kindly bought for us as 'you'll need one now you are having a 4th!. " A very thoughtful gift.

Now , those of you with 2 children close together. Do I really need a double buggy ? DS3 and DC4 will be 22 months apart and I was hoping to get away with a sling/buggy or buggy/buggyboard combo. Am I being totally unrealistic ???

Hope you guys are all doing well ? I was 16 weeks on Friday and no more bleeding. Hooray !

PinkTulips · 10/08/2008 20:18

glad your ok... was a bit worried after your scare last week

i had an 18 month gap and never bought a double buggy. i had a sling for ds and by the time he was too heavy to go in it much at 5/6 months dd was so used to walking she could manage really long distances without needing a break in the buggy. we rarely use the buggy for ds anymore as it is so definitely won't be getting one for this baby!

i knew a woman who bought a phil and ted's when her ds was 3 and her baby was 6 months biggest waste of money i ever saw! she used it as a shopping trolly mostly as her older ds never wanted to be in it anyway.

spottyshoes · 10/08/2008 20:35

Good question Laidback. I have been wondering the same thing (same age gap). We walk miles everday so had been thinking that buggy/sling might not be too practical but am loathed to buy a double.

MarkStretch · 10/08/2008 20:38

My dd has been begging me for a double buggy!

I had to explain to her that they weren't really designed for a baby and a 6 1/2yr old!

She is much happier now by the way and having a lovely time. She rang me tonight to demonstrate her Irish accent. It's coming along nicely.

herbgarden · 10/08/2008 20:40

What about buggy board ? they can then walk but at least they have an option of being pushed when tired. My ds will be 2 years 7 months and already likes to walk quite a bit. We don't go that far just the two of us so I suspect if we wanted a longer walk we'd be with dh so could each take a buggy or dh could put dc2 in a sling. My sil has a double buggy (sit one in front and one behind) which I can have off her but I don't think I'd have bothered to buy one.

spottyshoes · 10/08/2008 20:41

Lol bless her! glad she's having a better time.

I'd love to be able to do an Irish accent

spottyshoes · 10/08/2008 20:47

Laidback I think it's something best decided nearer the time. Atm DS is 16mths and would not be able to stand up on a buggy board for long. But i forget that 6mths down the line he will be sooooo much bigger and able to do much more.

My ideal solution would be to get one of those toddler seats that fit ontop of the pushchair. Wonder if they do one for Silver Cross........

TinkerBellesMum · 10/08/2008 23:30

Thanks winemakesmummyclever, she loves it in there, you can probably see how happy she is in the pics being thrown around.

PinkTulips does your GP not do them? I used to have them regularly as a kid, but when I was about 20 it bled worse after each one so I stopped and put up with the constant bleeding.

spottyshoes, I get scar pain quite a bit. Anything from discomfort to rolling in pain I think it's the scar stretching and being pulled around and scar tissue isn't designed to stretch.

laidbackinengland I'm not getting a double buggy (Mum offered me one someone was getting rid of) I'm going to buy a travel system and thinking of getting a buggy boot, but TBH I'm more likely to have the baby in the sling (did you see my link?) anyway. Tink will be 2 1/2 when baby comes. I'm going to try double slinging occasionally.

PinkTulips · 11/08/2008 00:38

nope.... gps here do very little beyond routine checks and prescriptions.

winemakesmummyclever · 11/08/2008 08:12

Oh no, stretching scars - I hadn't thought of that yet! Bugger! Feeling much better today, but still losing weight due to ms, so loads of time before I have that to deal with.

Probably going to get a double buggy as we do loads of walking (have a v energetic lab), and there's no way I could manage the dog, a buggy and a walking toddler. Always take the path of least resistance, that's me .

oooggs · 11/08/2008 09:08

haven't had time to catch up but dts will be 22 mths when db born and I will have to do with my current double/sling/walking/sitting on pushchair hood - no way I am getting a triple!!!!!!!!!!!

Jelliebaby · 11/08/2008 10:20

Hi all. I haven't posted for a while. Still feeling quite sick and have bad acne on my chin. I am 13 weeks so just praying the good times are around the coner.

My tummy is huge and there is no hiding it anymore. My CS scar is starting to itch and get a bit sore - didn't expect that tbh but it makes sense that it's stretching.

My DD will be nearly 4 when new one comes along so thankfully won't have to bother with double buggy. My SIL has one and i found it incredibly hard to push around.

I ordered a baby heart monitor so waiting for it in the post, can't wait to have a listen. Should keep me happy till I have my 16 week apointment.

nadssss · 11/08/2008 11:10

I got one of the heart rate Doppler things and it is pretty amazing ? I could hear the baby?s heart beat over the weekend (apparently you should only do it a couple of times a week so you don?t get obsessive about it and worry unnecessarily if you can?t find it). It was amazing though and I thoroughly recommend.

Is anyone else having stomach pains? I imagine they are growing pains as the uterus expands etc but it is quite alarming as they are quite sharp sudden pains which make me gasp out loud (and worries my poor DH to death which I hate doing). Anyone else having this experience? Would be great to hear I am not the only one!

My skin has flared up again Jellie ? totally depressing. Have fashioned a weird hairstyle which covers the half of my face which is affected so I just look really bizarre. I am trying miracell oil which is meant to be really good (and natural etc) ? I?ll let you know how it goes.

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 11:15

Hi all

Went in to work for my team meeting this morning and my team sent me home 'because I looked like shit'. Thanks guys!

In truth I feel rubbish today, my head hurts, I feel knackered and I keep having this weird thing where my heart keeps racing for no reason. It's really scaring me. Last night I was just lying watching telly and my heart starts pounding away really fast for no reason.

Any words of wisdom?

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 11:16

Ooo and where did everyone get their dopplers? I am tempted....

nadssss · 11/08/2008 11:19

yes - totally agree with the heart racing thing - it is so weird. it is like it is coming out of my chest!

got my doppler here:
www.babymad.com

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 11:31

I'm glad someone else is experiencing it. I was starting to get really worried.

nadssss · 11/08/2008 11:56

it is mostly when i am trying to get to sleep - so you would think i would be relaxed.

I looked in one of my preggo books and it does say it is normal so don't worry too much!

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 12:09

Thanks Nadssss.

I have ordered a doppler- let the obsessive checking begin!

Jelliebaby · 11/08/2008 12:25

I have the heart racing thing too, It's always at night when i'm in bed, it almost takes my breath away sometimes. I use to sometimes get it when i wasn't pregnant and always put it down to the blood pressure tablets im on.

I've not really had any sharp pains in my stomach, unless i've eaten too much and get quite bad indigestion.

Let me know what the Miracell oil is like nadssss, I've just been making do with tea tree oil from the body shop, without much effect.
