Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 12:30

Jellie what tablets are you on? I'm medicated for BP too and so far (fingers crossed) my BP has been fine.

Are you on Methyldopa?

nadssss · 11/08/2008 12:33

I found tea tree oil a bit harsh on my skin - it seemed to inflame the redness (but i know it is good for other people).

I am finding being 29 with spots very unfair.

MamaGoose · 11/08/2008 14:12

Hiya

Nadssss - I am getting the stretching pains thing too. It does really hurt! Mine feel like a stitch and they seem to be down quite low on the side of my belly. The other day I seemed to be having them loads but they've disappeared again now - maybe the stretching is over for now!?

The other thing I'm getting - and this I admit is really random - is that I seem to feel quite 'down' in the late evening. I'm totally normal and chipper in the day - whether I'm mega busy or not, but I almost seem to crash in the evening and feel down about the pregnancy, another baby etc. Do our hormone levels drop in the evening or anything? I genuinely feel quite miserable at night but upbeat and positive again next morning. It's all a bit strange....

x

nadssss · 11/08/2008 14:24

YES YES YES mamagoose! I am exactly the same. I am normal - even fun and happy - at work during the day but once I have got home and had dinner I often feel really low, physically and mentally.

I am tending to blame it on being overtired - I think you just have to try to ignore it and go to bed (rather than get weepy and morose if you are me). Every time I do this, I feel good again in the morning and can't understand why I felt so miserable the night before.

It is really odd though. I feel so reassure to know other people feel the same. Sorry to hear of your pains Mamagoose (but, again, quite reassured!)

Jelliebaby · 11/08/2008 14:54

Markstretch - I was on atenalol before i was pregnant and they have changed it to labetalol since being pregnant, they have had to increase it already too. Seems under control at the moment though. I managed to get through the whole of my first pregnancy with out the need of tablets though, they just kept on eye on it.

Nadssss - I am also 29. I never had an acne problem before i was pregnant they have just appeared with a vengence since i've been pregnant. It's obviously the hormones but it is very depressing and knocks your confidence quite a bit.

spottyshoes · 11/08/2008 15:52

Ha - well I knew my name would come and bite me on the ass one day! Spotty by name spotty by nature agree its defo not fair at our advancing ages! I didnt have them as a teenagaer (well the odd one here and there) and with DS I was positively 'blooming' throughout. Lovely hair and skin and now my chin is pizzafied and i'm getting through an indecent amount of dry hair shampoo as I refused to go through the palava of washing it everyday!

I get the pains nadssss! Also when I twist or sit up too quickly I get a huge stabbing pain which I presume is pulling a muscle or something?!

Have fixed my transport dilema. My mum told me today she want to buy us a double buggy

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 15:56

I too belong to the spotty chin brigade.

I am currently using two different foundations to cover them up and then DH says 'why does your chin look all crusty?'

FECK OFF.

nadssss · 11/08/2008 16:08

I know I know ? the problem of whether to cover up and look caked or let it show and feel awful. I know I should ?let the skin breathe? but I just can?t look anyone in the eye without cover-up on.

Spottyshoes ? sorry for you too about the pains ? but I am relieved! Suppose the abdominals are about to be stretched to the point of no return.

I would definitely take a stone extra in weight to have perfect skin.

TinkerBellesMum · 11/08/2008 16:18

Oogs, I only use a pushchair/ buggy when she's going out with someone else, most of the time she is happy to walk and has done for awhile. I think you will be fine without getting a triple. You could always get one with a seat on the front and a buggy board on the back lol.

spottyshoes · 11/08/2008 16:45

I'd go for the caked look everytime! 6 weeks ago I didn't even own foundation but now have 2! I have also have 5 different spot concealers. 1 in the car, 1 in my bag, 1 in the desk drawer etc etc - I will not be caught short Ooooo I get chills at the mere thought!

That said, you can have a stone of my weight and i'll take your spots!

Sorry MS but had to lol at crusty chin - the cheeky beggar. Mine looked at me getting dressed and said "You're not going to hide that stomach much longer" ..... I was about 8 weeks

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 17:38

WE NEED A NEW THREAD!

WHAT SHALL WE CALL IT?

Sorry for shouting- I had a burst of energy and cleaned the floors in my house and now it smells lemony fresh and I feel goooood...

lardybump · 11/08/2008 18:02

evening all.

Sorry but I lol at crusty chin. Men are the pits at times. My dp said last night "god you look fat..." no I am pg I reply "but your only about a week pregnant not 5 months"... What a bloody cheek....

I have my scan and bloods tomorrow so really looking forward to seeing the peanut.. Wont get the results until Friday though....

herbgarden · 11/08/2008 18:03

Ooh dear,no spots here but yes, feel miserable in the evening (in part due to ds suddenly being scared of the dark and screaming blue murder when he goes in) so not much sleep later on as he randomly wakes (not used to that either - he's a good sleeper as a rule....

Also getting the stretchy stitch like pains which are quite uncomfortable which is quite annoying.

Only plus side is that I def have more energy (despite not much sleep) and don't really feel sick anymore which is such a relief....

Am hopefully moving house in a few weeks so once we exchange we'll be packing so its a good job I do seem to have more energy otherwise it'd be hopeless.

DS asked if I'd been attacked by a bicycle pump if that's any consolation to the rest of you with less than polite dh/dp's....he's charming.

herbgarden · 11/08/2008 18:05

lardybump - my dh asked how something so small could make me look so fat......

mslucy · 11/08/2008 18:34

slaps herbgarden's dh v.hard for being so ungallant

I hope he was joking!

I had the last laugh today because I went to see the midwife and they measured me and I am indeed 5 foot 3.

DH has always accused me of lying about my height.Yes I am short but who would lie about being 5 foot 3?

All was fine and the mw seemed very nice, but this awful student sat in our meeting. She gave me the most enormous bruise when she tried and failed to take blood and had trouble spelling even the simplest words.

She was the size of a house and started to offer me advice on diet - I am not Kate Moss but have been a 10/12 for all of my adult life (apart from a thin period in my late 20s when I was depressed).

I found it very hard not to laugh out loud.

Hope this doesn't make me sound really horrible but if you'd have seen her you'd know where I'm coming from.

spottyshoes · 11/08/2008 19:44

Mslucy but I bet she dreads getting to that part of the appt!!

What are the options MS? I'm crap at thread titles. Do we keep 'fab feb' as a running theme?

Seeing as we will all be over the 12 week mark by this Saturday how about

'Fab Febbers announce their preggers!' Sorry told you I was shite

Oh well, we have 58 more posts to figure it out

spottyshoes · 11/08/2008 19:46

they're of course. Not their

LittleMissNorty · 11/08/2008 19:50

Or....bring on the blooming.............

I spoke too soon about not being sick

herbgarden · 11/08/2008 20:00

Mslucy....I distinctly remember a hideous blood taking experience with a trainee midwife after my c-section with ds. She literally leaned over me to get to the vein I was in chair by bed and she left her "tools" on the bed and leaned over from that side- She then sort of left the needle hanging out whilst she took that band thing (I know it prob has a technical name but I have no idea what)off my arm...at which time I politely asked her to get on with it before I passed out... I did mention to the more experienced midwife after that I wouldn't be offering my arm up again if she came in and could I have someone who know what they were doing please.....

I am hopeless at thinking of a witty thread title so am happy to accept whatever comes next !

mslucy · 11/08/2008 20:06

how about "pregnant not fat - ok?"

TinkerBellesMum · 11/08/2008 20:15

Fab Febbers Going Into Second Trimester?

Bit lame really.

I realised today I'm half way to my target to keep pregnant till (minimum, I'm not wishing myself an early baby, but I'm being realistic).

BTW, the move I was trying to organise wasn't doable. He wants a two bed off this estate. Spoke to HA today and they're sending me out the paperwork for a transfer, they said with medical support I'm band 1 which is first priority transfer. I told them about the man on my estate so that's something they'd keep an eye out for me for. They also told me to register with Home Swapper. Been searching through the site and just found a two-bed flat with our HA on a no children estate, wanting a flat that mine fits the criteria for! Going to call HA in the morning and see if they can help me with it. I hope I can pull this off!

MarkStretch · 11/08/2008 20:21

How about 'The Ever-Expanding Fab Febbers enter the Second Trimester Spots and All!'

TinkerBellesMum · 11/08/2008 20:24

Tourniquet is the name for something tied around a limb to cut off the blood supply.

PinkTulips · 11/08/2008 23:00

grrrr.

dp was trying to be all techy and fix the crappy internet and he's made it worse

am shattered, dd will have to wait ages to get ito ENT clinic so the gp has given me iron for her and suggested next time she has a bad bleed head to a&e to get bumped up the ENT list.... great, 8 hours in a&e with 2 bored toddlers..... really looking forward to that

am in a shitty mood, my ear is permantently popped and fuzzy and i can't remember when that ended with ds and i feeel sick again.

sorry about the move tink... hope something else comes along soon.

PinkTulips · 11/08/2008 23:02
