bigboydiditandranaway · 29/06/2008 17:18

Belcan are you going for a homebirth then due to not packing your hospital bag????

Know how you feel about had enough of feeling pregnant twilight, i suspect transverse is worse than breech, but i feel pretty uncomfortable too, felt like baby's head was under my ribs

ChaCha · 29/06/2008 17:23

Hello girls

Have to say that it is genuinely 'nice' to find somewhere to have a moan without feeling guilty - glad we are all in the same boat.

Bealcain - 5cms!! Ohhh...thinking of you and hoping that you have now packed your bag and are getting ready! Keep posting!

DD - Am really sorry to hear about your mum but glad to hear how well you are coping, you are keeping it all together. DDs sound adorable.

Ilana - WoW, just 3 weeks!! I can imagine that being at your mum's is a blessing right now. I am actually here at my mum's, just spent the night but having extra hands and someone look after ME has been lovely. We went out for Subway sandwiches as I was craving a steak and cheese minus the DC and then home where she looked after me and covered me up on sofa when i fell asleep. Very rare moments are these and ones that i certainly cherish. Was lucky that DS's were being entertained with DH and step dad as they always come first leaving me little time with mum. Back to the grind tonight though with DH out of town all week

Anyway, sterilising stuff, couldn't you just pop a milton tablet into some boiled water? I used to do that in Turkey when DS2 was just months old for anything that needed a good sterilising and worked fine. Hospital bag - like me DC3 and a c-sec, think my list will include (and hope to make a start next week) - 4/5 babygrows and vests, muslin squares, nappies, cotton wool, infacol in case, PJ's/dressing gown/nighty, pads, toiletry bag with usual essentials and flip flops (big must), something to read, hmmmm...anything else?
Thanks for SPD tips. Am sure needing them.

TS - Feeling exactly like you these days, it's really hard especially with DC to look after - hoping you're having some sort of rest and feeling better anyway.

Buckets - Hope you're day is going better too.

Miamla - Wonderful last day at work, bet you felt great - really lovely and thoughtful colleauges

Sorry for anyone i may have missed. Think my quick post is turning into mammoth essay, apologies in advance.
Best get the bags ready for the off x

bigboydiditandranaway · 29/06/2008 17:34

I feel a bit embarrased posting this but has anyone checked in a mirror down below? I did the other day as felt a bit uncomfortable and noticed some bobbly bits of skin sort of inside, has anyone else?
Seeing midwife this week so will ask her but just wondered if i was on my own with this?

TwilightSurfer · 29/06/2008 17:48

Bigboy I don't like horror films so likewise have no desire to see my undercarriage. If nature meant for us to see it we'd have spines that were flexible like dogs and cats.

OP posts:
bigboydiditandranaway · 29/06/2008 17:55

thanks for that twilight, can anybody else help

LadyOfWaffle · 29/06/2008 18:04

bigboydidit - you mean inside or in the flaps? Were they white? I am sure it's nothing to worry about {{hugs}} - scanned the past few posts, what's this about someone being 5cms ??

HazieDazieandBaby · 29/06/2008 18:14

Hey girls! Hoping everything's okay with you all today, everyone seems to be a bit down at the moment We're almost there so not long to go with the uncomfortable-ness (is that even a word? ), although it sometimes feels as though it's all miles away though...

Unless you're bealcain that is! OMG! Will they just leave you be until things happen naturally or do you have to go back soon for a check-up? I'm going to echo everyone else and say 'pack your bag now woman!'

Sorry to hear about your mum dizzy. We're all here for you if you need to talk, look after yourself.

How nice are your work colleagues miamla? You're obviously going to be missed before they're spoiling you like that! I would have been in floods of tears, but the free food would have helped me through it, I'm sure!

bigboy, I think a few girls were discussing this on one of our previous threads (goodness only knows which one it was, there have been loads!!) and the general consensus was 'DON'T LOOK!' I haven't myself, but a few of the others had and mentioned that thing said look a bit different downstairs, so I don't think there's anything to worry about tbh. Personally, I feel like I have been kicked square on in that region today! Ouch!

HazieDazieandBaby · 29/06/2008 18:21

lol oops, you should have heard how casual bealcain was the other night when she was telling us about the contractions happening after she fell down the stairs, oh and her husband's blind because of his conjunctivitis! I'll have whatever she's on that's keeping her calm!

Buckets · 29/06/2008 18:27

Bigboy, if they're the same colour as everything else I shouldn't worry. With all the pressure and extra bloodflow down there, things are unlikely to look as you remember them from non-pg times. Are you planning a vaginal birth? If so, it will all be under inspection soon enough. I'm far too chicken to look myself.

LadyOfWaffle · 29/06/2008 18:28

Well, have caught up on about a day anyway - TS {{HUGS}} Leave your legs, or get a veet cream to de-hair them - I look a wally trying to do mine, bending in every position trying not to pop my hips out! Take your wedding band off and put it on a chain around your neck, I gave up with mine and put it away months ago. x

Bealcain - eeeek! Hope you are ok. My bag isn't packed either, you have spurred me on to thinking about it again! {{hugs}} Fingers crossed everything is well with you.

Miamla - we are in the middle of decorating also, well done for all the work your doing - I have now resorted to a supervisor position. I tried to do skirting in DSs room, it was so so so awful - we are getting someone else to do it this time. Total panic as to whether it'll be done in time, esp. since DH quit his job today so everything is going to have to slow right down. Your leaving do sounds great, hope you had a great time I'd be drunk as a skunk too on one glass now

Buckets - Yep, was Quootiepie - seems ages ago! Everything alot better now thanks.

Dizzy {{hugs}} and best wishes and hugs for {DizzyMummy} and all the dizzies xxxxxxxxxxxx

Captain Caveman - I think it's illegal to stop a pregnant woman going to the loo anywhere, not 100% though... pretty sure.

alittlebitshy · 29/06/2008 19:09

bealcain whoah!!!!! Is all I can say. I know why you're so calm though - I guess because after all your begging they didn;t seem willing to help you get this baby out earlier - so at least you're doing it yourself!!!!

DizzY sorry about mammydixie. Hope you;re doing ok and that it's ok at your aunt's.

ilana like oops we just used milton in a big tupperware thingummy.
Paying lots of attention to the c-section hosp list cos I've just been thinking about my own.

Tell me about anrnica tabs. Why do I need them and where does one get them from??????

dd and I went doe my parents for the weekend .T'was nice. I abused their availability as usual and spent a lot of time in bed reading resting. Saw a school friend last night with her six week old little boy. V cute!! Was my mum's birthday today - we went for a meal and dd's wobbly tooth fell out. No idea when exactly though, I think it got hoovered down with her spaghetti .

I've just ordered pizza again for dh and I .

35 weeks today . 3 weeks 4days till c-section

oopsacoconut · 29/06/2008 19:15

Is anyone else feeling very full all the time - I have for the last week or so - i ate 3 bites of a pasty at 2pm and had a glass of juice at 3.30 i feel as if i have eaten a 4 course meal with a bottle of wine and snacks inbetween. Dh now wants dinner and the thought of anymore food is making me sick. Starting to worry that i'm not eating enough to keep us both going. I can't carry on like this for another 6-8 weeks!

Buckets · 29/06/2008 19:16

Oof, just gagged at thought of a tooth in the spaghetti!

bigboydiditandranaway · 29/06/2008 19:22

thanks for your messages, i'll just run it by the mw but seems normal after what u have all said, wish i hadn't looked to be honest!

i'd be interested if anyone knew when to take arnica tablets, it's supposed to aid healing i think.

Would u still take raspberry leaf tea tabs if u were having a ceseraean?

alittlebitshy · 29/06/2008 19:29

I'm not bothering with rasp leaf tea as I'm having section. In my opinion it's main use is (correct me anyone if i'm wrong) is the strengthen uterus to make contractions mroe effective, and as i'm not intending to have any contractions it seems daft.......

pregnancy1 · 29/06/2008 19:36

Evening everyone.
I can't believe what you've all been up to - Miamla I can't even pick the post up off the floor easily. I can't believe you are fixing skirting boards.....
Any more news from bealcain? bigboy - no harm in asking the mw, but to be honest even looking at the mirror face on shows that my bits are swollen [slightly freaked emicon], so I'm certainly not looking in detail....

Nothing new here. My friend is coming down with a car full of baby stuff that she no longer wants this friday and my JL delivery is booked for next Wednesday - so excited! Will mean that I have to pull my finger out and get all the other bits and bobs that aren't so exciting though...

yuch - footie is just starting although I have presuaded DH to polish the silver whilst it's on . Not that 2 photo frames and a clock will take him too long....

pregnancy1 · 29/06/2008 19:37

Oh Albs, Miamla will probably be in contact, but we're meeting on Friday am/lunchtime in Woodford if you are about and interested.

miamla · 29/06/2008 19:38

bigboy hmm we had a chat about undercarriages and mirrors a few months ago. what i personally learnt was that i should have listened to the other girls on here who had already sneaked a peek (of their own not mine!). I was quite shocked by what i saw but obviously if you're worried, get the mw to have a little look during the week

LofW i was taking a supervisor role until the poo poo hit the fan the other night. DP had had enough of decorating and took his rage out on the skirting boards with a hammer . sounds worse that it actually was but it was time for him to be banned from the room until i've finished it all! i've done double the boards i was planning today so feeling quite chuffed!
so you need to put new boards up? i've become quite an expert in the last 24 hours! its all down to the preparation (deary me, i sound like my FIL!) What bit did you have trouble with?

albs hello! keep meaning to email you and forgetting! preg1 and I are meeting for lunch next friday (4th july). would you like to join us? its going to be near Wfd station or possibly at mine if carpet fitter comes at lunchtime. let me know and i'll email more info to you

seems to have gone quiet from bealcain. i hope that means she's busy packing her bags!

my legs are particularly amusing at the moment... i put a dress on for work and realised it was too short so put leggings on. then realised that the leggings revealed far too much of my legs to get away with not shaving them so, yup, you've guessed it, i just shaved the bits that were on show! very very fetching and having a 3" ring of hair just below your knees is going to be all the rage this time next year! you heard it here first!

miamla · 29/06/2008 19:40

oops, cross post with you preg1!
which reminds me..i owe you an email...yup, it was the same st joes! i was year above you!

pregnancy1 · 29/06/2008 19:50

No way - I do remember that there was one very tall girl in your class. Was that you? (long brown hair with a fringe and 2 ponytails and glasses) I know we are the same height now, but I wasn't ever particularly tall at primary school. Ah, you've started me reminiscing about the school dinners and St Stanisclaus squashing your peas with her fork to stop you knocking any on the floor....

bigboydiditandranaway · 29/06/2008 19:57

anyone being subjected to football this evening? have to say some of the german side look quite fit

bealcain · 29/06/2008 20:21

bigboys....me....i am!! except he cant even see the bloody tele so i'm having to commentate...grrrrrr.

ok so update.....have started contracting fairly regularly again perhaps 2 in 10. just walked down the shop for coke (the drink) supplies before football, didn't help ,definately should have driven. um....that's about it...still no bag packed, i just can't be bothered. i'll only have to send H home after i've given birth to get things, so not too much bother, hadn't really planned on having one.

miamla - howd the crib restoration go? what did you do about lead paint?

regards how long they'll leave me, if nothing happens, then till 40+12!! won't let them stop it again though i'll just plough on through.

just one thing though, they did say how have my bowel movements been (sorry if tmi) but i've diahorea(?) you know what i mean, for about 36hours so that amy have helped!!!

oopsacoconut · 29/06/2008 20:29

Bealcain - Try and take it easy - just remember to tuck a pack of knicker bricks under your arm - our hospital told us they do not provide them under any circumstances! Apparently the diar poops are a sign you body is clearing itself out before the birth (according to our NCT lady) NO DRIVING ETC whilst having regular contractions - Yes 2 in 10 is regular. Hope DH not too uncomfortable

No footie for me - I get to watch Jeremy Clarkson and his cronies

CaptainCaveman · 29/06/2008 20:32

bealcain it doesn't sound like you will be waiting too long to meet your lo!! Glad you are feeling calm about it.

miamla am very excited about your leaving gifts - how kind of them all to do that! Although I'm now on sick until my mat leave properly starts, I'm meeting my colleagues for lunch on weds so who knows.....although I'm not going because I expect a gift from them!!

ts yes I did buy a change bag, a Bababing one...hang on I'll find a link.

I'm feeling bloody huge now. Jerry's head pressed right up into my ribs giving near constant rib pain which feels like a really bad bruise. Ouch. Still, I don't expect it is anything nearly as bad as SPD so I am not complaining (much!).

Dh watching footie too, I am about to go and join him as I agree, there are some fit looking fellas on the pitch. German captain for starters.....(assuming the same fella is still captain!)

CaptainCaveman · 29/06/2008 20:42

ts here is the bag I have purchased. It's £10 dearer in the shop so got a bit of a bargain buying it online.
