PinkTulips · 07/07/2008 20:50

so sorry lulubai, good luck for ttc.

was just starting to think the MS had eased a little today when i puked in the kitchen sick.... lurvely

am so unbelievabley shattered i feel like i'm on drugs or something. it will get better soon right?! right?!

dinkystinky... i had to post my own referal letters as gp's are too cheap to contribute a stamp still haven't heard from HSE or hospital so fingers crossed all is good.

jelliebaby is it possible you're a week or so further along? at 8 weeks the baby is still only the size of a grain of rice but by 9/10 weeks it's an inch and a half long so definitely possible to feel it. i have been all this week, nothing strong but the odd twitch and rustle.

LittleMissNorty · 07/07/2008 21:02

So sorry LuluBai........hope TTC goes well...

pluto · 07/07/2008 21:17

I have my first appt with midwife on Weds. Will be 8 weeks on Thursday. Am I wasting my / her time? Receptionist at surgery said booking in and blood test appt wouldn't be until later. I don't want to tell work I'm expecting yet, so I'll have to invent a reason for needing time off which I feel a bit uncomfortable about.

littleboyblue · 07/07/2008 21:31

LuLuBai, I'm so sorry. Good luck. Xxx

pluto, I also have midwife appoinment on weds, I'll be about 9wks I think. You're not wasting their time a booking appointment is normally between 8 and 10 weeks. It'll last about an hour.

MarkStretch · 07/07/2008 21:39

Gosh I'm really quite worried about dd. She's just woken up and been sick all over my bed so I've had to change all the sheets and use the duvets off the bunkbeds.

She hasn't got a temp- that's good isn't it?

Quite a lot of sick though and she is as pale as a little ghost. She's asleep now.

Why does this happen just as DH starts nights!?!

LittleMissNorty · 07/07/2008 21:41

MarkStretch, if you're worried, ring NHSdirect....I always find they're fab with giving me sensible advice when I'm concerned.

littleboyblue · 07/07/2008 21:45

I love NHSDirect, I always call them when worried.
And my ds normally gets a bit under the weather when dp starts nights, which is tomorrow. Fingers crossed he's ok.

PinkTulips · 07/07/2008 21:54

as long as there's no fever or rash i wouldn't worry too much markstretch. kids do get tummy bugs alot and it's usually gone by morning. did she eat anything unusual today?

MarkStretch · 07/07/2008 22:03

Sorry it's just she's never sick and I'm just not used to it! She had school dinners today and she said she didn't eat it as she didn't like it. She hasn't eaten a thing tonight.

I can't believe I have been sooooo knackered today and now I am wide awake hovering with a sick bowl! Think I might sleep with my eyes open.

At least DH being on nights means I can have her in with me and keep an eye on her. I've already warned him he's going to have to sleep on the bottom bunk with a Barbie duvet when he comes in in the morning

PinkTulips · 07/07/2008 22:10

lol, i was like that last week with ds..... so shattered i thought i'd collapse all day but when he had a fever that night i didn't shut my eyes all night

don't worry about being a bit panicy, always better to be over cautious than not

McDreamy · 08/07/2008 06:10

Morning all! First of all, Lulubai I am so sorry and I wish you all the luck in the world for next time.

I am sat here waiting for the midwife to arrive for my booking in appt. All starting to feel a bit real. Not feeling too bad this morning. Had a great day yesterday, ms came back a bit in the afternoon but nothing compared to the weekend.

Think I am a bit sensitive at the moment. A friend seemed to have a real go a me yesterday (she doesn't know) but I'm not sure if it's me being over sensitive or her pmt (she confessed to getting it really bad) or a bit of both but it has really bothered me al night. She was a friend that I really wanted to tell about my pregnancy early on but every time I try and tell her it just doesn't feel right.

Pluto - I am 8 weeks on Thursday too. If you want to see a midwife go ahead, it has nothing to do with the receptionists. My mum is a dr's receptionist and she is astounded at the stories on here of receptionists deciding when patients need to be seen. I guess some of them have guidelines to follow but it is a bug bare of mine.

Anyway hope you all have a good day!

MarkStretch · 08/07/2008 07:14

Aaaargh the vomiting went on until 3am and we are up already. I'm so tired I can't seeeeeeeee.

dinkystinky · 08/07/2008 09:20

LuluBai - am so sorry to hear your news. Hope you enjoy that wine and stinky cheese and sky diving and rock climbing and horse riding and all of that other stuff while ttc.

Is reassuring to hear that other people have GPs who are as useless as mine!

McDreamy - I tend to go rather emotional and hyper-sensitive when pregnant (infact, twigged to the fact that I may be pregnant when I spent an hour making dinner for me and other half and then threw a massive hissy fit that he'd been sat doing work for the entire hour I had been slaving in the kitchen - not quite sure where that came from!). Hormones have a lot to answer for! Try not to get to upset by your frend.

Markstretch - really hope your little girl gets better soon. Make sure you get lots of fluids into her. If you're really worried, speak to your GP and see if you can get an emergency appointment. Hopefully she'll have several naps during the day, which will give you some downtime too.

MarkStretch · 08/07/2008 09:28

Our thread is nearly full. Can we think of a good title for the next one?

I have updated my due date, its now Valentines Day!!

Had a scan this morning, i am 8+3 wks, it was an early scan to check for twins. Saw just one baby with a strong heart beat. Was such a relief to see all was ok, i was a complete mess before hand.

i know its still early days but from now on i am going to be as positive as possible, no more 'what if's'

LittleSarah · 08/07/2008 11:46

dinkystinky - oh yeah, I forgot to mention, when I did speak to midwives they said a letter would be sent confirming booking appt date and of course it still hasn't arrived...

Thought my weight had stablised but went on the scales this morning and was 8st 12Ib, another 2Ibs gone. Sheesh.

TennantbellesMum · 08/07/2008 11:53

Jellie, it is early days but you've just halved your risk of miscarriage, so that's a good reason to breathe!

Singingintherain · 08/07/2008 12:14

Hi, back again. Hope all is well with everyone. [smaile]

Hi to MamaGoose - I notice you live in Spain. Where abouts? I am in Spain too.

Anyway, just had my 6th scan last night. Since 6w had loads of pain and different types of bleeding. They were struggling to find the hb last night on the internal scan but found it on the external one. My dh was pacing around the room behind the curtain. Here they do not allow anyone other than the patient in the room to see the Consultant, so your dh/dp does not know anything until you leave with room with either good or bad news. But, as I do not speak the local language and my dh does, they allow him in to translate.

I had to sit in a waiting room with other expectant mums, including one in actual labour with contractions. It was very strange as there were some of us with threatened mc's and others in labour all in the same room. They were pushing mums and babies in beds past us whilst we waited to be seen.

My haematoma apparently mesures 1cm which is quite small but it the cause of my bleeding. I was told last night that the bleeding for me coiuld mean that the haematoma is getting smaller. I am not sure how to take that though and I do not know too much about them.

I am now unable to walk for more than 10 minutes without getting some pain. Now I have to stay in. Dh is enquiring about getting a wheelchair so I can get out the house, but I feel stupid as I am not ill, just pregnant and unable to walk. They have given me some tabs you insert that will stop the pain. I do hope they work.

TennantbellesMum · 08/07/2008 12:34

Just thought I'd remin people to email me if they want to be added to the map. tinkerbellesmum at ymail.com

McDreamy · 08/07/2008 14:07

Met my midwife today - she was very nice and very thorough. Gave me loads of booklets and information. I m going to miss my nuchal scan and will come back too late so she has arranged for an early scan net Tuesday and I think DH and I have decided to pay for a nuchal scan while we are in the UK. Anyone know anywhere in Wiltshire that do them?

Feeling a bit sick today but absolutely shattered, can't even begin to think what we might have for tea and it's ten past four

McDreamy · 08/07/2008 14:09

I quite liked the Fabulous Februaury thread from before?

McDreamy · 08/07/2008 14:10

D'oh just realised this thread is also called the Fab Feb thread - just ignore me!!! Mad pregnant woman alert

MarkStretch · 08/07/2008 14:28

I have finally persuaded dd to lie down on the sofa and watch a DVD. She's was detirmined not to becuase she says sleeping during the day is boring. I ended up pleading and begging.

I am seeing my midwife on Friday, am quite excited about that. Hopefully she will then book me in for a scan.

God I can't think of anything god for a thread little.

I had birthday cake for breakfast, bleugh.

Singingintherain · 08/07/2008 14:34

What about something about the fact that we should be heading into the second trimester and we are looking a bit more pregnant.

I thought to include "The Secrets Out" or something similar as it becomes harder to hide it and the bump. So many of us are talking about having to buy maternity wear or dealing with MS etc.

MarkStretch · 08/07/2008 14:36

Go for it Singing.
