Aww McDreamy feeling like a rubbish partner atm too as im just soooo tired all the time - god knows how you cope feeling sick too - hope you get your scan this week though as that is always a lovely moment Have a scan at the hospital tomorrow so fingers crossed its alright too its my second and they did see a little heartbeat two weeks ago so fingers crossed. Tink i thought they did maternity too but i asked and apparently they stopped recently but are bringing out a new range in Sept - cant wait to get some proper maternity jeans - i went into mothercare yesterday and they do these early term jeans which are still the best part of 30 quid i think and only fit you for the beginning bit [hmmm] bit expensive for just a couple of months wear so i thought i would just get some bigger ones when Asda bring out their range in a couple of months. I know there is probably no 'legitimate time' to start shopping for your Lo ( think thats right - means baby right? still getting used to these abbrieviations ) but i have so much stuff to get as am basically starting from scratch that i am going to wait for my 12 week scan and start picking up little things here and there for the new arrival. I left it really late with my others though. How about anyone else - when do mums to be start shopping?

TennantbellesMum · 06/07/2008 12:20

LO is little one, so you're right.

As I say, ASDA have done maternity clothes for years, but you have to go to Walmart stores. Nearest for me is a long way so have to wait till we borrow my dad's car next week!

rosieposey · 06/07/2008 12:30

Ohhh really? there is a big wallmart store in Bristol which is only about 40 mins for me so i might have a mosey down there next week The woman in my local one seemed to be quite adamant that i couldnt get any till Sept - even though id seen some for sale recently on ebay and stuff so i knew they had been doing them quite recently but if the big Wallmart stores are doing them now Tink then i will try and get some jeans from there next week - god knows i need them as my jeans are way to tight! thanks for that

I got some early pregnancy jeans last time for £7.50! Walmart have always got them when I've been, I've never seen them in the ASDA stores. I'm told Tesco do materinty clothes, haven't found one yet though.

rosieposey · 06/07/2008 12:45

Ive been to quite a few Tesco extras and ive never seen them either Tink - anyway they only go up to a size 18 i their ordinairy range ( their plus range is pants and designed for 80+ im sure! ) so wouldn't be much good for me. Am definately going to go to Bristol during the week though cause if they do those early term jeans for that kind of price then ill get two pairs!

MamaGoose · 06/07/2008 21:26

Hi all,

Has anyone been prescribed progesterone in pregnancy before?

I saw the doctor on Friday who confirmed I was 9w+4d. Saw baby on scan - big head, small body, two arms, two legs and a strong beating heart - lovely. But I've had some bleeding and he thinks it's coming from a patch of blood on my uterus, maybe a fibroid, so he's prescribed me progesterone twice a day to reduce the risk of miscarriage until I'm 16wks. I've had bleeding in all my pregnancies (this is my 3rd) but no-one's ever done this before - maybe no-one else spotted it. But my first child was born at 32wks and there was never an obvious explanation for it. As I'm now living in Spain it's very hard to get a 2nd opinion and the language barrier is an issue. It would be good to hear of similar experiences!

x

TennantbellesMum · 06/07/2008 22:00

I'm going to be using it from 16 weeks (using it as in an internal gel) until it doesn't stop baby coming any longer.

chilledmama · 06/07/2008 22:05

hey mamagoose, Don't know if this is any use but found it anyway progesterone in pregnancy

chilledmama · 06/07/2008 22:14

I'm so pathetic...I am such a chilled mum and a nightmare pg woman!!!

I am so impatient and so up tight about nothing being there at 12 week scan that I've booked an early dating scan...haven't told DH as he will not see funny side of my impatient nature

Somebody slap me!!!

TennantbellesMum · 06/07/2008 22:28

Tesco Mum2Be range is only available in 56 shops and I have no idea which ones!

McDreamy · 07/07/2008 06:16

Morning all!

I feel fabulous this morning! No sickness at all, hoping this is just a reprieve and nothing more sinister has happened , trying to look on the bright side and enjoying the symptom free morning after a shocking weekend of sickness but it's always in the back of your mind isn't it?

A scan later this week should confirm all is well (I hope, really trying to be positive)

I have some mat clothes from Tesco from DS's pg 3 years ago. I lived in York then and there's a fairly big Tescos on the ring road. I am def going to pay Asda Walmart in Swindon a visit when I come home - only 11 sleeps to go and I will be flying back to the UK for a month - I can't wait

McDreamy · 07/07/2008 06:21

Is anyone ebaying for mat clothes?

rosieposey · 07/07/2008 07:42

Morning all
McDreamy i am looking at ebay for maternity clothes and am finding a few pair of jeans on there but am worried about which type to get - tbh i didnt use jeans in my previous pregs ages ago but want to use them this time trouble is ive a small bum (in comparison with the rest of me) and jeans tend to fall down my rear that arent maternity so im not really sure which type to buy. Think that 'over bump' ones look the most secure but i dont think ill be able to wear them for a while because i think you need a sizeable bump to. Dont worry about not feeling sick this morning - enjoy it! it will be back with avengence no doubt. I keep having period pains as if im going to come on alot ( was awake at 5 this morning with them ) but have a scan today at 9.20 am after the school run with DP so am keeping my fingers crossed that everything is ok and its just womb growing pains so to speak. Hope you get your scan later in the week McDreamy - will make you feel alot more reassured - i know if i could have one a week i would as its so hard to relax about stuff at this early stage isnt it?

littleboyblue · 07/07/2008 07:44

Morning all. I found all my old maternity clothes yesterday whilst packing for our move. Gonna get them in the wash as I feel sick when waistband is across my belly!!
It's dragging already isn't it?

Jelliebaby · 07/07/2008 09:02

Morning all. My MS is 'slightly' better. I'm not spending all day every day in bed now so thats an improvement.

I am going to wash all my mat clothes after my 12 wk scan and get some jeans/trousers off ebay. Newlook do a mat range too that you can get online so i will be getting a few tops from there - they are cheap and cheerful.

My tummy is growing already. I'm only 8.5 weeks. Is it true that you show sooner with your first? I didn't show with DD till i was about 16 weeks and managed not to have to get too many mat items, i just got a size bigger. Don't think i'll be doing that this time.

dinkystinky · 07/07/2008 09:32

I know what you mean - I've definitely reached the looking-like-you've-eaten-too-many-pies stage of preganancy much earlier this time round than I did with DS... am trying (though the exhaustion is much worse this time round) to keep exercising and going to the gym for a couple of classes a week, a pilates session and a personal trainer session though seems to be having no effect whatsoever on my rapidly expanding body. Ho hum...

Anyone got their 12 week scan dates through yet?

laidbackinengland · 07/07/2008 09:34

Morning all. I am 11 weeks today and I don't feel so sick today either. Had a good weekend, with a friend over from Norway who is due 3 days after me with her 5t DC. Jellie - I think you show quicker with subsequent babies as your tummy muscles tend to be less efficient at keeping it all in. I certainly look pregnant from certain angles !

I bought some great Isabella Olver stuff from ebay wit DS3 and then sold it on ebay for more than I'd paid for it !ALthough I wish I'd kept it now. Will have to buy some more

Cocodrillo · 07/07/2008 11:37

chilledmama have you booked a private scan?

TennantbellesMum · 07/07/2008 11:55

rosieposey, they have buttonhole elastic so you can wear them anytime. I never put my jeans away as they are easier on my scar.

supersteph · 07/07/2008 12:36

Hi all, I am 10 weeks today and feel really bad. The sickness this am was that bad I have strained my tummy muscles. I am so glad that this time around my sickness really is just m/s, as I work evenings and I feel great at work.
I have my 12 week scan booked for 24th of this month at 2.40pm. I wish it was in the am as I will be worried all am.
I will be 12 weeks 3 days at the time of my scan. xx

TennantbellesMum · 07/07/2008 12:42

My 12 week is on 25th, I'll most likely have a scan every 4th Friday as that's when the Immunology clinic is and at the moment coincides with the 4th week of my pregnancy - the dates may change after the next scan meaning I'll end up with a scan and a hospital appointment

rosieposey · 07/07/2008 13:01

Tink never worn those type before so will give them a go - really need some comfy jeans though as everythings too tight and im sure its not just the baby as am only 7 weeks 3 days lol every monday i promise myself ill put the eclairs away and start slimming world healthy eating plan ... Hmm i dont think its gonna happen this week. Scan went great this morning - NHS quick in and out at the GW in Swindon. Apparently i measured exactly right for dates and the sonographer showed me and DP the lo on the screen with its lil' heartbeat going again cant wait till 12 weeks as am gagging to buy stuff even if its a pair of socks!

WarmFuzzy · 07/07/2008 13:18

I'm living in my Next boyfriend cut maternity jeans at the moment - got them on ebay and they are truly fabby.

Last time round I managed without buying anything - just wore loose tracksuit type stuff from when I was ttc and MUCH bigger. I looked AWFUL the whole time but didn't care .

TennantbellesMum · 07/07/2008 15:09

Is a fancy for banana with strawberry jam edging towards a craving?

For some reason I always get a taste for strawberry jam (Gregg's jam donuts, "cream tea" croissants with half a jar of jam etc) when I'm pregnant
