I have already done 3 tests today and am only on cd24, 10 dpo. Both First Responses were positive and then did a Boots Digital which isn't supposed to be used until the day af is due and that came up with a BFP too! Am stunned as last two times I have been pg, haven't got BFP until I was at least a few days late......anyone else experience this?

DecafArabica · 05/01/2005 12:44

Yay! A very very excited and overjoyed Arabica is now switching to decaf blends...DS or DD2 is due around 16 September...I am 43 and it happened at first try, so I am especially delighted. DH was a bit shell-shocked but says it's due to Viking Power (he's Scandinavian).

Sallie · 05/01/2005 13:12

Am feeling very stupid and upset. Got two BFNs from predictor tests today after having 2 BFPs yesterday from FR tests, and two BFPs from Boots digital.

hana · 05/01/2005 14:26

congratulations to all the september mummies to be! My dd is a sept babe - fantastic time to be born! Lots of luck

yingers74 · 05/01/2005 14:44

I am sorry Sallie, when is your AF due? it could be that the predictor tests are wrong so it might be worth checking with your GP.

Sallie - fingers crossed. I would say that the two predictor tests I used showed nothing while the FR, clearblue and boots digitals were all postive (albeit faint in the case of the FR's). So there's still hope. Good luck. Maybe wait a couple of days, see if AF arrives, if not use different tests (I'm a test junkie, though).

Congrats decaf arabica. Think am due either 3rd or 10th September (some of the due date calculators take into account longer than average cycles for some reason).

Sallie · 06/01/2005 09:34

Just done another Boots digital and it came up with a BFP very quickly so I guess I can just put the upset of yesterday down to Predictor being useless!!! Thanks for all your messages. The anxious feeling isn't going to stop until I am another few months on because of the mc I had previously. CD27 today.....
If this pregnancy lasts, I am due on 16th Sept. Fingers crossed. So hope it does. Really couldn't face the prospect of another mc, albeit that it was early on last time. Best of luck to everyone else on this thread for the next few months. Can't wait to get to 12 weeks although even feel cautious about saying that. This thread will, I am sure, be a good source of mutual support.

zubb · 06/01/2005 10:32

Sallie, really pleased that things are looking OK. Good luck for the next few weeks.
Now I am used to the idea I really want to start telling people, but will hold of for a little while longer I think.

Sallie · 06/01/2005 10:46

AF due tomorrow so fingers crossed. Hoping that the next few weeks fly by. Need to be busier at work to take my mind off it all. Been getting a small amount of tummy ache but so far hasn't been the same as those I get before af arrives.

pooka · 06/01/2005 11:05

Hi Sallie. Glad that it may only be the completely useless predictors rather. I've also been getting stomach aches, kind of like period pain, but not exactly. I'm also desperate to get to the nuchal scan, for all to be well and to e able to relax a bit more. Also desperate to tell everyone. Have told my mother, and also friends from my post natal group. But not my father or PIL yet. But I'm torn, because if all isn't well, I'd almost rather have the support than have to pretend to be fine IYSWIM.

Sallie · 06/01/2005 11:09

We aren't planning to tell anyone else until after the nuchal scan.

pooka · 06/01/2005 11:24

I am ust the worlds worst secret keeper. Really - I'm absolutely crap. I should carry a warning round my neck.

Sallie · 06/01/2005 11:31

Given my record on early testing, I am not the world's most patient person either. I suspect I will have to tell someone before the 12/13 week scan but will try and keep it a secret from most until then. Really helps being able to chat on here actually!

yingers74 · 06/01/2005 12:01

morning all, sallie, glad to hear your news. i have heard that it is nearly impossible to get a false positive whilst a false negative can often happen. fingers crossed for you
I tested again this morning to check again before I went to the doctors, the doctor thought it was very early for me to come in and tell her but someone else i knew lost out on a 12 week scan because she told her doctor at 6 weeks so am taking no chances!!!

i am also terrible at keeping a secret, i have not told my mum yet but will when i see her at the weekend. have told some friends though, they know we are 'trying' so when i saw them they asked 'are you pregnant yet?' and I am such a poor liar that i ended up just telling them!!! i am pathetic!!!!

I have an appointment with my GP next Tuesday. Remember my last one - she said no need for her to test, to take it easy and that was it - no need for a double appointment really. I didn't see her again until dd was 8 weeks old, but she rang me and my mother the day after dd was born (how lovely is that! She's fabulous).

Sallie · 06/01/2005 12:24

Pooka - when are you due?

zubb · 06/01/2005 12:30

hadn't thought about seeing the doctor yet - think I'll phone the midwife and book an appointment for 8 weeks or so. I think I'll get away with minimum appointments this time as its number 3 as long as everything goes well.

pooka · 06/01/2005 12:34

Think 3rd September, although if taking into account longer than average cycles, nearer the 10th, I think.

DecafArabica · 06/01/2005 12:43

That's great news Sallie. We may have the same due date. One website gave me 10 September and the other, 16 September. I've got an appointment with the nurse at my doctor's surgery this afternoon for a repeat test.

Sallie · 06/01/2005 12:45

zubb - its my 3rd time too. I will also think about making an appointment in the next few weeks.

pooka · 06/01/2005 13:15

So...
to recap, so far we have:

Pooka 3/9 or 10/9 (No. 2 dd almost 18m)
Zubb 8/9 (no.3 - ds 3y8m, ds2 1y10m)
Decafarabica 10/9 or 16/9 (No. 2 dd ?)
Sallie 16/9 (no.3 - ds 2y4m, dd 10.5m)
Tallbird d/d ? (no. 2 dd ?)
Yingers d/d ? (No. 2 dd 22m)

Is that right?

zubb · 06/01/2005 13:18

for me thats the age ds1 and ds2 will be when the baby is born - at the moment ds1 is 3 (this week), and ds2 is 14 months.

Sallie · 06/01/2005 13:18

thanks Pooka, my details are correct. Have a bit of tummy ache today (cd27 out of normal 28 day cycle). Has anyone else experienced this? I am paranoid because of my mc in sept...

zubb · 06/01/2005 13:20

Saliie - I've found that each time I have had heightened period symptoms the first month, this time and last I was convinced that my period was starting and had to keep checking. Not sure why it happens.
