Well doesn't the weekend fly by? Hoping that the next few months pass by quickly too. All is well with me although had headache from hell yesterday accompanied by dizziness/blurred vision. Was very odd. Feel quite bloated all the time too....how is everyone else? My due date (all being well with this pg) is 16 Sept. Hope I am not early as my ds will be 3 on 28 August and would prefer to avoid having another late august baby!!!
Was 8 days late with ds and 1 day early with dd

DecafArabica · 10/01/2005 10:49

I fel really bloated and sick today. Just feel like hiding under the duvet, but am at home with DS who's enjoying a thankfully very long Noddy video.

zubb · 10/01/2005 10:59

DA I'm with you on the bloated feeling. Had a really tiring weekend, and am off to US for a work trip tomorrow so think I'll be in bed at 9 tonight! Not feeling ill though thankfully. Luckily work trip is with all men so me not drinking / feeling rough won't register with them!
Think I'll book my midwife appointment soon, so that I can get a date for the 12 week scan - want to check that its not twins (family history)!

Sallie · 10/01/2005 12:47

Have had a slight amount of brown spotting this morning. Didn't get it with my other pregnancies - is this normal and should I be worried?

zubb · 10/01/2005 12:49

not an expert sallie, but if its brownish then its old blood, so may be implantation bleeding which is quite common - I'd start a thread if I were you and see what others say.

DecafArabica · 10/01/2005 13:24

My spotting was brownish too and looked like old blood. I was told it was quite normal to get it shortly after conception (implantation bleeding) and also when your period would have been due, but with DS, the bleeding didn't fit into either category. Had a scan at the EPU and everything was fine.

yingers74 · 10/01/2005 13:42

good afternoon!

can't give any advice about the spotting, sorry, could be implantation bleeding as mentioned.

I am surprisingly well, with first I was sick constantly for about 6 months, got dehydrated and ended up in hopital with a drip - nice, but so far so good, fingers crossed it stays this way!

have been having more vivid dreams though! Anyone else and feeling more picky about things! Anyone else?

Hello all and congratulations! Can I join in? Not sure exactly when I'm due but let's say 5 Sept - I didnt have a LMP because I was breastfeeding - hopefully the first scan will give us a better idea of dates - I'm telling GP 7 Sept (the latest possible date according my calculations) for the time being to minimise my chances of being induced! Could be due in Aug but unlikely I think.

DD is currently nearly 1, so will be 19 months when #2 is born.

Had 6 weeks severe MS last time round, from 6-12 weeks - I've got a feeling it'll be the same this time as it's starting to kick in big time

Vivid dreams .... hmm, I had a bizarre one about Hugh Grant last night - why can't I have dreams about someone I actually find attractive sometime?

maretta · 10/01/2005 18:17

I wrote a really long post earlier - but ds came and unplugged the computer just before I could send it - grrr

Hi Franch, congratulations . Hope you're not feeling too sick. I'm getting symptoms already, I'm feeling queasy, I keep going to the loo and my breasts are getting sore. Hopefully that's the first sign that I'm getting my breasts back. I'm so looking forward to that.

Not feeling at all bothered about not drinking after Christams excesses but this is also my fattest time of year so maybe not the best time to start getting fatter.

I had a bleed with ds1 at 6 weeks. I think it's quite common and if the blood is brownish that's a good sign.

maretta · 10/01/2005 18:19

Was it a 'Bridget Jones's Diary' type of Hugh Grant or '4 Weddings and a Funeral' type of Hugh Grant.

The Bridget Jones type isn't too bad.

franch · 10/01/2005 18:25

Ew, not 4 Weddings, that would've been even worse! More Bridget Jones but still creepy ....

pooka · 10/01/2005 18:52

Hi there Franch, Maretta and Mummyhill. The list is getting longer. When I have more time I'll update the stats
Feeling pretty much the way I did last time - headaches, bloated. But not sick, wasn't last time either. Also not as tired yet, but maybe that's because I don't have time to feel tired now!
Still have occasional cramping, like a stomach ache, but maybe that's just wind
Saille, if the blood is brownish, it sounds most likely to be ok. Maybe when you get to see your GP just mention it?
I'm seeing my GP tomorrow afternoon as I want to get into the system for nuchal scans and booking in appointments as early as possible.
Out of interest whereabouts is everyone in the country? I'm in south east london, so would go to Kings for the nuchal.
Am feeling really nervy (I think I did last time) because it feels so momentous, but don't want to jinx myself by getting carried away.
Anyway. Looking forward to reading about everyone's progress.

franch · 10/01/2005 19:12

Hi pooka, I'm in N1. Hoping for a homebirth this time - will probably have scans etc at UCH. Booking appt tomorrow so will find out more then.

zubb · 10/01/2005 20:28

I'm in Wiltshire, and after an unplanned homebirth with ds2 will go for a planned one this time. Actually I think the midwife will insist on it! Got a booking in appointment with her for when I'm 9 weeks, that will get me the 12 week scan booked in.

yingers74 · 10/01/2005 21:00

am in acton, west london. Am waiting for queen charlotte's to write to me telling me when my appointment is, we don't really get a choice. dr writes to them and then they tell us when to come, changing the date often means losing out as they are so busy! London for you!

maretta · 10/01/2005 22:05

I'd really love to try for a home birth too so it would be good to hear any advice that you have.

I'm in Manchester by the way - although originally from the South.

mummyhill · 11/01/2005 08:53

Sallie
Could be implantation bleeding but with a previous mc i would get it checked out with the GP just in case, they may refer you to EPAU for a scan just to be on the safe side. I am currently chasing mine for an early scan and blood tests to check my thyroid levels (my thyroid disease caused my mc and they are supposed to be monitoring it closely but so far no one has been near me with a needle) as i am paranoid it will happen to me again. If you have any worries call the GP or MW, I intend to!!!! After all they are there to reasure us and make sure we get through this in one piece. Am feeling lousy today had migraine all weekend and threw up most of yesterday. Good luck let us know how you get on.

mummyhill · 11/01/2005 08:57

I am in Birmingham and will be going to Good Hope in Sutton Coldfield. We are going to eurodisney in march for a short break, going by tunnel, not sure if i really want to travel that far at the moment as am feeling crap most of the time. Any travel advice?

Sallie · 11/01/2005 09:13

Thanks for all your messages - no more brown blood and there really was only a tiny amount so hoping all is ok. I am in SW London and will probably book in at Chelsea & Westminster again (thats where I had ds and dd). Was under domino care last time and very happy with it. Would have liked to have a home birth this time but am Group B Strep positive (or was a few months ago) so may not be possible.

DecafArabica · 11/01/2005 12:09

Hi everone and welcome new people. I am in London N16 and will probably go to the Homerton as it's nearest, even though the cafe is crap. Last time I went to the hospital for all my appointments but I think I'll choose to go to the GP surgery this time only because it's a lot nearer. But I may have to go to the asthma clinic as well just for a check-up or two. although I will be arguing against this as had no probs with asthma last time.

franch · 11/01/2005 13:34

DecafArabica, didn't realise we were due at the same time when I was chatting to you on my Stoke Newington thread - you're definitely going to have to show me around if we move there

Feeling ROTTEN today - had to miss out on a great job opportunity this morning My parents are here at the mo but going home tomorrow so I'm on my own with DD for a whole week (other than DH who's always at work) - really worried about how I'll manage as the all-day MS is really debilitating. Have started vomiting now and I know it'll only get worse before it gets better.

yingers74 · 11/01/2005 14:08

franch - I really feel for you, I had all day MS with my dd and it is not nice. Is there anyone that can take DD off your hands for a couple of hours here and there so you can get some rest?

OP posts:
Tallbird · 11/01/2005 14:48

Hi everyone.
Sorry to hear about those of you suffering from MS. I have been really lucky on this front (touch wood) and have never really suffered other than feeling really tired (and that could just be recovering from Xmas !).
I am in Surrey, and probably planning to go to the Royal Surrey in Guildford. Had dd at St Peters, but not planning on going there again. Currently thinking of going private for scans etc at the Fetal Medicine Centre - either that or trying to see if I can be referred to Kings in London, as I was really impressed by them when I had my CVS there last time. Really must get around to making an appointment to see my GP.

franch · 11/01/2005 16:44

Thanks yingers. I'm going to see if DD can maybe stay with SIL for one night next week, which would help a bit. Yingers I know you from the multicultural board - I've changed my name because I don't want any of my RL MN friends to know I'm pg yet! Will CAT you because I'm on the London/multicultural meetup thread - would be fun to meet as it looks like we're both expecting our 2nd mixed-race babies at the same time

Saw GP this afternoon - referred me to UCH for scans etc - looking forward to finding out which midwifery team I'm with and what they're like - if I have any doubts I may go for an independent MW. It's all starting to feel official

Still feeling crappy though. Bought some organic ginger beer on the way home which seems to be mildly soothing - although I know once this thing is in full swing nothing will stop it. Yingers, I really hope you escape the worst of it this time. Last time round I was in tears most evenings. Poor DD won't know what's come over her mummy.
