Oh yes - the wind! Horrible.

Sorry - forgot to say hi there Beattie. I'm hoping that your 2005 is much happier than 2004. Glad that you have a supportive GP. I'm sure it makes an enormous difference.

franch · 13/01/2005 20:38

DecafArabica, got that last time, sure it's only a matter of time ...

Yingers, what dosage of B6 are you taking? The stuff I read on the web said it only works if you take a dose larger than the recommended maximum for pregnancy.

Feeling truly awful today. Managed to take DD out this morning for a thing she had to go to but it well nigh killed me. She's at her aunty's tonight so I get a break all day tomorrow, except I have to get up at some ungodly hour to go to a morning meeting - really not sure I'll manage it but don't want to let on that I'm pg yet.

mummyhill - are the children's ages on your list all the ages they'll be when our current batch is born? DD is currently almost 12 months but you're right if you're listing September ages.

Hope you're all feeling a lot better than I am!

franch · 13/01/2005 20:52

Ugh ugh ugh. Home alone, know I need to eat dinner and go to bed, can't think of any food I'd be able to stomach ......

franch · 13/01/2005 22:17

Just had dinner of chocolate almonds. Know I'll feel worse waking up with an empty stomach but really can't face anything else. Have cancelled tomorrow's meeting - still haven't said it's MS - my career is well and truly scuppered, I guess I have to accept that!

Yeuch, I hate this. Bed now. Will concentrate on my blessings.

yingers74 · 13/01/2005 22:19

Decaf, am with you!

franch, don't know as I get it via the pregnacare pill I am taking, I also seem to be drinking a lot of diet coke (decaffinated). Hope u are okay for the meeting tomorrow. Wish I could be more help.

franch · 13/01/2005 22:24

Thanks yingers (yes, I know, I said I was going to bed). I'm on pregnacare too - apparently the B6 dosage in that isn't high enough to help but obviously something's working for you, thank god. I spent so long last time round looking for remedies, I think I just need to lie back (literally when possible!) and let it happen this time - just hope it ends around 12 weeks like last time. Half a week down, 5 and a half to go .....

Kiwicath · 14/01/2005 06:04

Morning oh pregnant ones!!!

Anyone else still bfing #1. Jake is 12 months and I was planning on feeding him until he gave me up. I assume it's no probs continuing. Wouldn't have a clue how much cow milk I should try to give him if I wasn't???

Arabica, I've cut down to 1 morning cup of instant coffee - not decaf I'm afraid. There should be no worries there ... should there??

OK, I've got to say that I'm a wee bit worried. Not feeling remotely sick and can still change pooey bums and clean out rubbish bins with abandon. What's the deal on "the sicker you are, the healthery the pregnancy". I'm hoping it's bollocks and just a way of making pukey mums-to-be feel better. Wasn't sick at all the #1 and he's as fit as a fiddle.

Going to get my first scan in Cairo mid/end of Feb. A lot more anxious than the first time as there have been so many friends around me who've lost their little ones early on and only found out when they went for the scan . Ho-hum, here comes the paranoia again!!

Hi, me again. Sorry if "the pukey mum-to-be" thing sounded a bit off. I really do feel for you guys and I hope that in your cases it does mean that all's going famously

Tallbird · 14/01/2005 07:11

Have updated my stats.

Maretta 16/9 (no.2 dd 19m)
Yingers d/d ? (No. 2 dd 22m)

Still not feeling at all sick - though am sleeping really badly (loads of really weird dreams), so am very tired - hence still need the odd cup of real coffee or diet coke to get through a day at work. Seem to have developed compulsive eating too, so will probably end up absolutely huge !

pooka · 14/01/2005 08:10

Kiwicath. I wouldn't worry about not feeling sick. I didn't last time, and wsa convinced I couldn't be pregnant as a result. My mother wasn't sick with her 3. This time I do seem to be feeling rather more queasy and certain things make me feel quite nauseous, but they were generally things that made me feel nauseous before (litter tray for example - so thankful that don't have to deal with that anymore).
What an cosmopolitan life you lead - scan in Cairo! WHere would you actually give birth?

DecafArabica · 14/01/2005 08:34

Kiwicath, apparently it's safe to have a small amount of caffeine every day. I used to be on about 5 or 6 full-strength mugs of the stuff so have cut down to just one a day--the rest of the time it's decaf for me! Here's the source of my info.

zubb · 14/01/2005 09:28

Kiwicath I don't feel sick at all, and haven't with the other two either. Been very lucky really.
As for the breastfeeding, I have given up feeding ds2 this week as I have been away for a couple of days and it seemed like a natural stop. He's 14 months old, and I don't think that he would have stopped on his own, but I wanted to have a break between him and the next tbh.
I'm impressed with you all giving up tea and coffee, I have just spent a couple of days drinking more coffee than I have in the last two years in an attempt to keep myself awake in work meetings - but then going to the US for just a day of meetings does strange things to your body clock, not helped by having pregnancy-tiredness on top of the jetlag.
Have a family party at the weekend and haven't told anyone yet, so will spend the time holding my stomach in as I feel quite bloated at the moment.

DecafArabica · 14/01/2005 12:34

My DS will be 4yrs 4months when no. 2 arrives (still not sure of dates BTW)

Sallie · 14/01/2005 12:41

I have made a doctor's appointment for next Tues to make it all official and get the paperwork in progress. DH rang up the hospital to book the nuchal scan and they said they wouldn't take a booking without a doctor's appointment. After reading on mumsnet about several people who missed out on the scan because they were too late seeing their GP, I thought it best to get the wheels in motion now. DH is a radiologist working for the same trust but don't get any perks!!!!

Kiwicath · 14/01/2005 14:19

I'm a bit spoilt in that respect. I'm living in Egypt and have been to the same gyny/obst. for the past ten years. Because it's all private, I can ring on the day and get an appointment. Delivered my little boy in Cairo and had the BEST time of it.

Big decision time for me and dh. We think we might pack up and head back to New Zealand for keeps, having the new babe there. Just waiting for these crucial first months to pass trouble free before we make our minds up.

Sallie · 14/01/2005 16:00

Its very quiet on here today - everyone ok?

franch · 14/01/2005 17:12

Hi Sallie, I think MN in general is a bit quiet today due to the WigandRobe frenzy. I'm surviving - still only throwing up once a day so far, but feeling on the verge of vomiting pretty much constantly and therefore not much into food. Also shattered - DD spent last night and all day today at SIL's so I stayed in bed till after 10 (amazing!) but have still felt like lead all day.

Sorry to use this thread to moan so much - you'll be hearing much more of this over the next 5 or 6 weeks so brace yourselves!

Sallie · 14/01/2005 17:15

Whats the WigandRobe frenzy - have I missed something

franch · 14/01/2005 17:21

Here. Happy reading!

maretta · 14/01/2005 17:25

Hi everyone.

Know what you mean about the sickness. Each time I feel a little wave of sickness, I find it reassuring but I don't feel them nearly often enough and so I'm forever worrying. I should be thankful really that I'm not like poor Franch being sick all the time.

I've been getting hot flushes today too - is that normal. Don't remember that last time. I've also been very emotional and I'm not usually like that. Currently manicly happy bacause it's Friday

By the way, can I change this again, just to make my dd a ds! 19mo is his age now - is that right.

Sallie - WigandRobe was dishing out legal advice but wasn't in fact a lawyer. It all kicked off.

franch · 14/01/2005 17:35

Maretta, if it's current ages on the list, can you change my dd to 12 months? Thanks!

Oh, and yes - don't wish all this puking upon yourself - I'm sure you're fine without it!!

Hi--DS is 3yrs 9months at the moment.

zubb · 14/01/2005 20:04

If its current ages then ds1 is 3y and ds2 is 1y2m, but ages when babe is due are quite useful as we won't have to update each month!
