HUGS Ellie!!

I am so sorry about your friend babes, I really really am. There is nothing I can say to make you feel better other than please remember we are here for you and we have cake!
Also try not to think about the sad thread, get some sleep and remember you have your own little baby on its way into the world shortly, and we just know your baby will be fine.
I really think I need to ban you all from reading sad things for the next 4 weeks until after babies are born, unless its here in support of eachother here on this thread!!
-looks stern-

If you remember my old school friends are coming over on saturday to stay, one of which hasn't met my DP. So DP has decided, bless him, to BAKE. Yes, you did hear right. He is going to bake a cake and whip up a bacon and egg pie for them to enjoy in order to look impressive. All totally unsuggested by me. Bless his cotton socks eh?

I'll save you girls a slice of them!

xxxSleep tightxxx

northeastmummy · 20/03/2008 03:26

Urrrrrggggg ... bloomin insomnia!!! Mmmmmm, bacon and egg pie

Big hugs from me too Ellie. I hope you're getting some sleep. I really hope that your friend has better news soon and that their suspicions are wrong. Do make sure you let us know how she gets on.

And with the sad thread, it's just unimaginable isn't it? Try not to let it pray on your mind. feedmenow will hopefully get lots of support through this horrible time. I know a couple of people through a friend who've gone through something similar and things do get better with time.

I wonder how your DP's SIL is getting on Carey??

Oops - 2 posts! Hmmmm, will try not to start speaking to myself seeing as everyone else is hopefully snoozing away just now ...

northeastmummy · 20/03/2008 03:30

I wonder how many pages I could tot up before you all get up in the morning??

wibbleymum · 20/03/2008 03:59

Hello northeastmummy. Another insomniac here. Just got up to get myself a bowl of cereal and sit around for a while till I get sleepy again...

Carey87 · 20/03/2008 08:32

Morning all. No news so far. I presume that they were either false or that theyve just died down a bit.

I really dont know why I'm getting so jealous when there are so many more important things in life at the moment than to be getting like this. I am very very pleased that they are having a child, and I do wish them the best of luck, and DP is so excited about being an uncle, therfore I should be happy for him.

Sorry, babbling on, again .

Ellie: when will they know?

On another note, I was woken up last night by a particularly uncomfortable braxton hicks and i cant shake this sick feeling off, am hoping im just in sympathy for DP SIL

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 09:43

Hi Guys,
Ellie, so sad to hear about your friend. and please let us help you if we can.

Am determined not to read feedmenow's thread... really don't want to know the details till after my LO is here.

MW says LO is 1/5 and has made me an appointment for next Wednesday '..if the baby doesn't arrive before then'

Nnnoooo haven't finished DS's room yet...

Have killer sore throat, catarghh (sp), cough and funny tummy. Keep thinking LO is going to make an appearance everytime I cough! Thank god it's my last day or you can bet I wouldn't be here. Throat is so painfula nd can't take drugs.

Sorry to whinge but feel crap.. oh and have protein in my urine so possible UTI.. hurrah

northeastmummy · 20/03/2008 09:51

Sorry I missed you wibbleymum - would've been nice to have some company! I went on to read the NCT magazine cover to cover. That soon sent me back to sleep .

Sorry you're not feeling any better BR - what rubbish timing.

Carey87 · 20/03/2008 09:55

oooooooo!!!!!!!!

(passes butter croissants and cuppa around for all those on their last day of work!!!)

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 09:56

NEM, just feeling sorry for myself. LO is going mad as per usual so I doubt I'm gonna pop just yet. I hope not, don't fancy this cough etc during labour! Ruining my last day though.

Anyone any experience of baby still moving lots when going into labour?

BR

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 09:58

OOooh yummy. Thanks Carey. Think I might get a RL cup of tea. COUldn't face one first thing as too hot and bothered.

BR

Carey87 · 20/03/2008 10:00

Does RL actually work?

Mollyfloss · 20/03/2008 10:03

PFJ: I am seriously impressed by your DP. As much as my DH really loves food, I cannot see him baking ever. He can do good omelettes though and that's about his limit.

Carey: It sounds weird to be jealous when your own baby is only a couple of weeks away but I know exactly what you mean. When my friend who was due 2 weeks before me had hers early I was jealous/shocked even though her baby was born prematurely. It's very strange but after a couple of days I realised I was crazy because it is best if the LO can stay in there until term at least. Pregnancy hormones are plain weird...

Oops haven't had any raspberry tea since Sunday, must have a cuppa today. Also must do perineal massage... or DH can do it because I don't thinkI can reach down there

and now ladies, get cracking on those kegels!

Carey87 · 20/03/2008 10:09

The rational side of me is telling me to shut up and get on with it and to stop being so childish, but then I've got a terrible jealous streek in me anyway, and I suppose at least I can admit it. My mum is flying in tonight so at least that will take me mind of things. Her contractions are now 6 mons apart so I preume baby will be here by end of day at least (and she's 4 days early!!!)

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 10:10

eeek I meant real life not raspberry leaf... I haven't had any yet... bad bunny must go to Holland and Barrett on Saturday.

Tossing up whether to go to the DR or not. Actually starting to hurt when I breath now.

BR

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 10:11

Hey VS what happened about the telly interview thing?

Carey87 · 20/03/2008 10:11

LOL - sorry, my fault!

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 10:18

Oh I don't know. Good question. 'does real life actually work?'

LOL

Carey87 · 20/03/2008 10:25

BR - LOL!

bunnyrabbit · 20/03/2008 10:32

Off to Boots to see if they'll let me buy anything that'll make me feel better... although I doubt it!

TheMaskedPoster · 20/03/2008 10:39

Hi all!

Just come back from MidWife ... Still head down but not engaged - so she has told me to do some 'swaying moves' etc. Blood pressure fine (which is good as it was high last pregnancy and I was forever at the hospital day unit getting it measured) but still measuring 36 cm (am 38 weeks tomorrow), however when MW felt belly she said it didn't feel like a small baby - so perhaps it is the way I am carrying (no kidding).

Have commenced the Raspberry Leaf tablets today too - YAY.

Can't believe it is only 11 days til April! Seems to have whizzed by since these threads started. Saying that - can't believe that this is another nearly full thread!

Right - now I will endeavour to read back over some previous posts and see how you all are (don't mean to be rude and not mention things - but I have only limited time on MN lately .... 'snot fair!)

x tMP

EllieG · 20/03/2008 10:40

REALLY GOOD NEWS!

My friend's MRI scan came back clear! They are treating some swelling round her ears and think it may be an inner ear infection.

Can't believe the bloody doctor who told her he 'had a hunch it was a brain tumor'. She was so scared. Shouldn't say things like that unless they are sure.

Also is my last day today!!! As it is carey's! And my team took me out for a fab breakfast - I had waffles and bacon and loads of other things - and though I now feel so full I think I may die I am very content. And they gave me the tommee tipppee steriliser I wanted so hurrahs all round
