There are too many posts to comment on now!

So I'll just tell you my news

The doc today wouldn't try the ECV because of the way the baby is positioned, said it would be too stressful for him. So I'm booked in for a c/s on the 27th. THAT'S ( DAYS AWAY!! Help!

KnitterInTheNW · 18/03/2008 17:01

Ummm, 9 days.

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 17:04

LOL Ellie!!!

And I'll get ready with the catchers mitt for imminent baby arrival.

Have fun Sagitta. Good Luck VS. Mmmm burger.

Raspberry leaf is ok after 34 weeks.
I was reccommended the tablets. They sometimes give me period like pains though.

Laundry is now completely done. If DP shows me one more piece of dirty clothing I WILL SHOOT him.

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 17:05

Do you ever get one of those days when you want to give person asking you silly question that 'demented cow look' and say 'I WILL kill you WITH MY BRAIN'?

moominsmummy · 18/03/2008 17:07

ooo knitter that's so definite and real isn't it?

when I saw MW today she agreed that my contraction at 4.45am was a real one and not BH - said I'll probably get more in the run up to the big day - makes it seem so real! (am v pleased as I didn't have a single contraction last time without horrid induction stuff so am glad my body getting ready to do it's own thing - hopefully before they start talking induction again!)

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 17:08

Wow moomin!
I want a real contraction!!!

Or do I?
YES I do!!

-hopes baby wont wait-

moominsmummy · 18/03/2008 17:12

oh my god you don't! - was in agony lying in bed -c ouldn't move onto all fours which was what i wanted to do -just had to pant through the thing - lasted nearly a minute and it hurt! all into my back etc - MW said it's trying to shift the baby down into the pelvis (so I can then start getting more of the knitting-needle-up-the-fanjo pains - so that's something to look forward to!)

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 18:19

awwwww... nice description. Am terrified now!

Peachy · 18/03/2008 18:52

LOL at killing people with brain- my family have A Look (known as The Godfrey Stare, second only in infamy sadly to The Godfrey hips )- poeple don't usually mess with Godfreys LOL (funnily I used to keep my maiden name on teh rougher estaqtes where I worked LOL).

For dinner we had caesar salad and home amde pizza. I ahve a box of Thorntons chocs stashed for tonight if the boys settle- BIG if!.

And no you don't want contractions LOL! I was desperate foe this one to come out, now I'm not so much- starting to remember too much!

Confessional time: I have never ever smoked or even been offered a drug of any kind, I was such an embarassingly uptight person that if I met me as a teenager now i would probably smack me. I'm glad I never did the addictive things but- gawd I was awful - a real nightmare.

moominsmummy · 18/03/2008 19:02

Peachy - LOL at you as a very pure teenager!

on the good news for those of us doing this second time around, MW said 2nd babies aren't necessarily any bigger than your first as you already have a child to run around after. Big relief really as DS was 9lb2.......

PortAndLemon · 18/03/2008 19:03

Presumably "40% of women who smoke still smoke during pregnancy", given that only 21% of women smoke -- or else it would mean that nearly one in five women take up smoking specially when they get pregnant...

9 days... .

OP posts:
chipmonkey · 18/03/2008 19:20

Ds2 was lighter than ds1 was at birth. Ds1 was 9lb 1oz, ds2 was 8lb 9oz.
But ds2 gained weight while still in hospital, and was a total boob-monster! By the time he was 6 weeks old he had really chubby legs!

SuzeM · 18/03/2008 19:27

Sagitta, have a great holiday.

Peachy, my dh is already worried about our dd when she turns 16 and she is not even born yet ... I hope she is as well-behaved as you were!

Knitter, at least you have a date now. It's the not knowing when that gets me.

I am off to my last NCT class, it feels like another milestone before The Big Day.

moominsmummy · 18/03/2008 19:32

chipmonkey - that's v reassuring - DS was also a boob monster (LOL) he was 9lb2 at birth and 13lb4 by six weeks - hence why it's important to eat so much cake when bf

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 21:13

yeah PAL I meant 40% of women who already smoke continue to do so. :P

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 21:19

Enough about smoking though.. its bad enough trying to ignore my cravings!!

Baby has been squirming and moving SO MUCH today. It's almost like he is trying to punch his way out!

Well, hoovering is done. Only the kitchen floor to mop and the house will be perfect. For 5 minutes. Harhar!
I am so proud of myself for managing to get it the way I want it finally though.
-keeps looking over at the moses basket-

Sigh. Not long now.. not long...

Night girls. Planes Trains and Automobiles is on Film4, so I may veg out and watch it.

xxx

EllieG · 18/03/2008 21:58

No, I think women start smoking. I myself have given up tobacco, but have started using hard drugs instead.

knitter! 9 DAYS OH MY GOD! We're gonna have another baby!

Woo!

I don't want any contractions, have decided.

Went to breastfeeding workshop thingy and learnt less than in an afternoon on MN. Was completely useless and had already heard everything on here. How do all these non-MNing women survive?

Mollyfloss · 18/03/2008 22:12

Just catching up after a hectic day. The baby curtains are finally up and although everything is covered in the room it is all there except for a few pictures for the wall that I have coming.

You are all very brave with your HB's. I have to say it never appealed to me at all even though I have a friend who recently had a fantastic experience and highly recommends it. I'm just too paranoid and would rather be in a hospital.

BR: You're definietly not being too fussy about the moses basket. I'm a bit surprised anyone would have smoked near it.

Sagitta: Thanks for being so honest about holding the baby straight away etc. Apparently tons of Mum's & Dad's don't bond for a while but don't admit it.

Carey: i wouldn't feel bad. Even in our NCT class the lady said at least give breastfeeding a try but then if you really can't/don't want to for whatever reason then don't because the most important thing is to love your baby and nothing should get in the way of that. Same goes for skin to skin. It's not absolutely necessary. It's such a personal thing I can't understand where some people get off putting pressure on new Mum's.

I can't say much about the smoking as I have never smoked and it seems I don't really have an addictive personality so would not dare to judge. I thought giving up wine would be really hard but I haven't really missed it much at all. I was so nautious during the first 3 months that I didn't feel like it anyway and then just got used to not having it and almost 9 months later I haven't even had one glass which is unbelievable for me. I do have a sweet tooth that I never had before and that has got the better than me throughout this pg.

I'm having champagne after the birth - only I think it will take me a day or two to actually want it because by all accounts I'll be too wrecked, overwhelmed etc.

TLSM · 18/03/2008 22:18

Hi All,

P7L Thank you so much for that info funny how you worry about things!

Sagitta I always think its amazing that they seem to know when to use the words! My DS stumped his toe the otherday and I heard a FFS when i said what did you say he told me he couldnt remember - he is nearly 4

VS glad the tv thingy went well

Daftmoo what a lovely story hope mine goes like that - I mean the cs bit not he having the baby early bit!

Gem My thoughts are with you xxx

Ellie I was thinking that last week about the lady garden thing so i went at it with a razer not a good idea when you can see what your doing DH thought it very funny after (have used a mirror and sorted it now)

Scorpio so sorry about your Nan one comfort should be that she will see Milly my Nan died just before Max was born and i really wish she had seen him and this one x

Well the last few days have been crap! my boss is a nightmare I dont know why but he is being so horrible and he keeps adding to my work load I am leaving on the 4th April and am no where near really so he gives me something else to do! thus i will only be able to pop in now and then until then I hate the fact that I cant enjoy this part of the PG I am so tied when I get home and my Max has a cough with his asthma means he is coughing all night! I cant wait to leave work I just hope I get everything done! Is anyone else worried that their work wont pay them their MAT money I really think he will hold it back but dont know what I can do about it I would so much prefer to get it straight from the Inland rev but dont know if I can?

Enought of me moaning x

ThePFJ · 18/03/2008 23:41

sympathy TLSM! I wish I could say more to help you.

Ellie... ROFL.. you have me in stitches all the time. You get extra mini eggs for helping me keep my spirits up!

Ok.. I think I may be having the first part of my show.
(sounds like a dramatic musical starring moi singing badly being wheeled into the labour ward when I say it like that haha)

Will keep you all up to date tomorrow, if any more appears. At the moment its clear coloured and theres definately a lot more of it than I normally would get.. in that 'region'.
Sorry about the TMI.

xxx

chipmonkey · 19/03/2008 00:21

I have never had a show!
I think this baby will have violent tendencies judging by the visible movement across my bump. It really feels like two octopuses having a punch up sometimes. Oh, well, with 3 big brothers, he's going to have to be able to fight his corner!
Scorpio, sorry the news isn't better about your Nan.

Carey87 · 19/03/2008 08:29

Morning all!

PFJ!! How exciting!!!! Tell more tell more!!!

I went midwife yesterday and she said that baby wasnt engaged, still.

Im 35 weeks now, first child, is this normal?

Im only going on the fact that DP SIL was 'engaged' at 33 weeks apparently.

Also, I have to post this joke. YOu can all tell me off later, but it made me smile

A woman was helping her husband set up his computer, and at the appropriate point in the process, she told him that he would now need to enter a password. Something he could remember easily and will use each time he has to log on.

The husband was in a rather amorous mood and figured he would try for the shock effect to bring this to his wife's attention. So, when the computer asked him to enter his password, he made it plainly obvious to his wife that he was keying in...

P...

E...

N...

I...

S...

His wife fell off her chair laughing when the computer replied:

PASSWORD REJECTED....... NOT LONG ENOUGH

TheMaskedPoster · 19/03/2008 08:43

LOL at joke Carey

I wasn't engaged at 36 weeks (last ante-natal visit) so we will see if that has changed as I have midwife tomorrow (38 weeks).

Am tired and have blocked Sinuses ... yuck.

This LO is extremely active of late and my right hand side has been kicked and stretched to billio! btw - where has my ribcage gone?

Hope all are well and trying to keep rested (ha ha ha!!)

TMP x

EllieG · 19/03/2008 08:55

I can't remember having a rib cage. Or a waist.

Last full day today! Only in tomorrow morning! Woooooooooo!

TheMaskedPoster · 19/03/2008 09:02

oh YAY for you Ellie .. relax and enjoy your last full day

waist - ha! yes, what is that again?

... I can't even put socks or shoes on with any dignity these days ... everything I seem to do is a comedy act for the rest of the TMP clan
