Oh thank goodness you're back! M2b2BR - I've seen that programme ... it's a dead cert for tears.

Sorry to hear about sore tummy's

StealthPolarBear · 19/03/2008 17:00

jumping in from April 07
How many babies so far? Are there any?

northeastmummy · 19/03/2008 17:02

Phew VS. My cousin was bridesmaid to me 5 months after she had her first LO and that was pretty stressful so I'm maybe over cautious. Everyone's different.

VictorianPASqualor · 19/03/2008 17:06

We have two babies so far SPB.

Mollyfloss · 19/03/2008 17:59

NEM & VS: thanks for the advice but don't worry about me feeling the pressure. I'm not the type to feel presurised. I didn't even diet for my own wedding to be honest. I'm not the type to worry about a dress size when I have bigger things like a baby to worry about. Right now though, I'm just sitting around waiting for that LO and hence can waste my time on wondering what size I will later be bla bla bla. When this baby pops out it will be the last thing on my mind. I've told them everything I think about the size and they've made the decision. If it doesn't fit, tough luck, it's not may fault!

NEM: Why was it stressful when your cousin was bridemaid to you 5 months after she gave birth? for you or for her?

Mum2B: Pass me one of those cupcakes please!

chipmonkey · 19/03/2008 18:30

You could always cut 2 holes in the dress for bf, Molly! I'm sure your cousin wouldn't mind!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 19/03/2008 18:41

passes around (chocolate with left over cream cheese icing and blueberries topping) cupcakes help yourselves!

Mum2b2BabyRoo · 19/03/2008 18:41

hmm that was meant to be in italics...

ThePFJ · 19/03/2008 19:00

Mmmm thanks M2B2BR

As usual am way behind with all the threads, have been trying to read back but am now even more confused.

Went to see the Dr at the hospital today to talk about VBACs. She said the baby is 2/5 in relation to brim and well engaged. She seemed quite positive about the VBAC and thinks the baby is more likely to be early than late. She also thinks it will be an 8lb or so baby so that is not too big. Last night I was in agony with back pain and pressure around my back passage (sorry if TMI) it really felt like the babies head was pressing against it as if it was trying to come out. DH was having palpatations that I was in labour but as soon as I laid down the pain was better.

Anyway tomorrow is my last day at work hooray!!!!! and I am looking forward to a whole year (hopefully) at home.

One day I will keep up with these threads but hope everyone has a good Easter Weekend with lots of real chocolate (especially the dark stuff - so good for iron levels!)

northeastmummy · 19/03/2008 19:55

Oh Molly - it sounds like you're completely realistic about the whole thing. Certainly no need for me to be worried or sticking my nose in!!

My cuz is just quite stressy anyway, and had all sorts of issues about the dress which i did everything I could to accommodate. Then she got stressy about how she would feed, look after, attend to her baby while she was being bridesmaid (despite her DH, Mum, Dad and brother all being at the wedding too). She eventually told me that she couldn't do it without about a week to go - and i accepted that and got one of my friends to do it instead. But then she changed her mind again ... well, it's all a very long story and not very interesting, but that's the crux of it.

Needless to say, I wish I'd just asked someone else because she was less than useless in the run up and on the day.

northeastmummy · 19/03/2008 19:56

Ugh - I've been SUCH a winge today.

ThePFJ · 19/03/2008 20:09

nah. You've been fab. We all have. As always -preens-

Here.. have a miniegg

northeastmummy · 19/03/2008 20:11

Thanks PFJ - can always count on you

Mollyfloss · 19/03/2008 20:36

NEM: you're right to point it out. Reality checks are needed anyway now and again. God, your cousin was really stressed. My cousin who's getting married was also my bridemaid. I didn't really ask my bridesmaids to do much as they were nowhere near Dublin and my cousin is not asking me to do much either now, just turn up on the day and that's it. She keeps thanking me already for just that. I feel bad I can't make it to the hen-night though but it's only 3 or 4 weeks after the bay is due in the Southwest of Ireland. On the day of the wedding we are getting someone to look after LO in the hotel where the reception is (we have a room booked there) but DH and I will be popping back and forward all the time and of course I will have to feed her. I'll do that in the hotel room so it doesn't really matter what the dress is like. I figure it's easier to feed her myself than express because then I'd need all the sterilising stuff and expressing sounds like a pain anyway. God, the things you have to think about once you have a baby!

Chipmonkey: LOL to the two holes! In a way it would be quite nice to be too big for a dress because I have massive boobs

Mum2b: Did you make those cupcakes yourself? they sound delicious! Are they American style cupcakes? Could I have the recipe? I had a chocolate one I bought today in the supermarket and it was really tasty.

Lori: 8lb is a great weight. If mine continues growing averagely they think she will be a 7lber but she could have a growth spurt or not grow as fast so who knows. Is there anything you can do to help the LO grow in the last few weeks before birth? Eat more cupcakes?

EllieG · 19/03/2008 20:58

I have had a sad day and feel blue.

Feedmenow's little girl being still born has made me want to cry whenever think about it.

Plus went to see my friend who went into hospital with chronic nausea a few days ago and she told me the consultant told her this morning that they think she might have a brain tumor

Carey87 · 19/03/2008 21:31

oh ellie, im really sorry for you.

and im sorry for posting this completely selfish post, but, DP SIL has just gone into labour

EllieG · 19/03/2008 21:39

Ooo from me too!

Mollyfloss · 19/03/2008 21:53

Oh Ellie, I'm very sorry to hear that.

Carey: Exciting about your DP's SIL. I guess you'll have some news in the morning if her labour is not too long.

chipmonkey · 19/03/2008 21:58

Oh, Ellie! Your poor friend! And feedmenow's thread is very hard to read when you're pregnant, I'm selfishly trying not to read it because I know I will be a blubbering wreck if I do.
Molly, you're right in that it will be easier to feed the baby rather than express but bring loads of muslins in case she throws up on you! ( Baby, not cousin]}

Carey87 · 19/03/2008 21:58

yes, she will probably have a perfect labour, and it will probably just pop out

chipmonkey · 19/03/2008 22:00

Actually, Molly just remembered my cousin got married a few years ago and the bride's sister had given birth 2 weeks before. You honestly coudl not tell that she had just had a baby. Maybe she was wearing magic knickers but she was a size 8-10, I'd say, with a flat stomach. Maybe you'll be as lucky! if you are!

Mollyfloss · 19/03/2008 22:04

Feedmenow's thread is heartbreaking and selfishly it is so hard to read when you're pregnant.

Good idea chipmonkey, lot's of muslins I will have! It's a bit nuts to think I will have a LO by then

Right I'm off to bed. Ellie: hope you manage to get a good nights sleep, after such a tough day you need it.

Carey87 · 19/03/2008 22:06

oh

however, I must point out that we should all be very grateful for the lo's we have and will be having very soon

Mollyfloss · 19/03/2008 22:07

Just read about your cousins sister, let's hope I'm like that. I'll definitely be prepared with magic knickers in any case! G'night!
