I had this breast pump, it was great, no problems with it, just make sure you use the right size nipple thing with it, I got the really small one stuck

Sagitta: That thread on pregnancy is hilarious! I feel so thankful now that I don't have hald of those problems

NEM: Thanks for the reassurance on the weight. I'm just a moaner, compared to the problems of the ladies in the 'I hate pregnancy' thread my weight seems like nothing at all. When I went swimming I tried to do breaststroke arms and normal kicking legs, sort of weird but felt good. Actually just treading water is nice.

VS: Where's your thread on the joys of pregnancy? i'm crap at finding all these threads...

Ooo molly I meant to tell you - the physio said that cycling legs in water is VERY good for you, plus using a float board thing for arms and just kicking with straight legs to move also good.

She said yoga, even PG yoga, is bad for people with pelvic girdle pain but pilates is good. I am booked in to yoga so might re-evaluate.

Where is scorpio at the moment? It's supposed to be her hen do tomorrow.

Evening ladies, have any of you seen the Jan thread someone on there baby delivered by husband on bathroom floor, not enough time for MW or ambulance to arrive - thats the way to do it.

Going swimming tom - the first time since xmas so went to shave legs, becoming some what of an impossibility getting to the outside bottom part of my legs. May go hairy from now on.

Bump pains, anyone else getting pains over their bumps at the end of the day? Got it first time news years eve after afternoon of bowling so fairly explanitory, now started getting it more frequently almost like baby is pushing really firmly from the inside iyswim.

Ellie - Ive had to stop nannies knitting, i have 18 cardigans (had lots from prev DC) its like a manic obsession with them both, with that and my obsession for sleepsuits I dont think ill need to wash anything for the first couple of months

That's funny about the cardis. My MIL who hasn't knitted since she was 15 has knitted a jumper, hat & cardigan so far. I think it's really cute how excited my in laws are. it's their first grandchild. My Mum is very excited too even though it's her third. I'm the only girl in the family so I guess I ask her much more questions about baby stuff than my bro did. My Dad sadly passed away 2 years ago. I really miss him especially at this time. He loved kids so much and was nuts about my niece. He would have enjoyed all of this so much.

My FIL's girlfriends Mum (who is lovely but I have met twice) is knitting too LOL_ think she never had grandchildren via her daughter (1 of her 2 sons has children) so we're filling a gap- we're quite happy to adopt an extra Granny though, Dh's Grandad is a perv (when we married he laid down on the red carpet to look up bridesmaids skirts, then accosted Dh in the speeches for being boring and getting amrried and not being a chip off the old block- Gret-grandad has 8 kids by 7 women!)

Wheres Scorpio is it too early to start drinking yet?

Arnt these knitters funny, and they all do new born size, nothing bigger. Actually to be fair to my mum she just knits constantly - dosent care what size it is so most of kids and my jumpers are hand knits. Think DD may start refusing to wear them in a few years but will make the most for now - saves me a small fortune.

The newborn outfit my Mum knitted for ds1 swam on him for ages but I kept dressing him in it for her sake LOL- I bet she thought I was nuts (Mum and sentimentality don't mix)

I seem to be getting MS back again, have been queasy for af ew days and thought it might be that bug but its not its damned MS On the plus side, MW was going to call me of my iron levels were low yesterday adn she ahsn't which is amazing for me- last time at 30 weeks they were talking about a transfusionas they dropped low. So really about that!

Denny185 · 11/01/2008 09:18

I had apt with MW yesterday and all is well, LO kept kicking her whilst she was listening to his heartbeat, obviously he doesn't like being woken up

I didn't feel the baby move yesterday so nipped over to ante natal this morning - they put me on a trace and her heartbeat was lovely and strong

She also started kcking like a good 'un cos of the ultrasound, was such a relief. And they said she had a really good trace for 26 weeks, which is nice.

Hi Scorpio, happy virtual hen day. We had oriental lilies at our wedding - dh chose them.

Having trouble deciding what to drink at our virtual bar. Is it too early to have a beer while I think about what to have next?

Its just my friend has a random night off on saturday, and my dad said something about a hen night andthen backtracked. it is also rare for dp to suggest a date, he likes dates but lacks the thinking iyswim?

peachy, regarding this sling, aren't babies supposed to be transported horizontally in the beginning? because they can't hold their heads or so?
my literature is limited to pre-natal and birth books until now, guess I should start on baby books too

sagitta · 11/01/2008 10:45

Maybe dp knows about the hen night and is helping to plan the surprise? Can you go out with DP tonight or Sunday?

Ellie - I hope it doens't give you wind. I woke myself up farting this morning. I am windy enough to power a turbine today

don't know anything about hen nights but couldn't your friend make it after your dinner with dp?

Report
scorpio1 · 11/01/2008 10:48

i think dp does know, and has said to get dolled up on saturday night, is pretending to arrange money with me to pay for meal, etc. but he has said when i found out (sort of) that a hen night may be in question what do i do?, because i said i would prefer to be with him (we are v lovey at the mo), and he looked uncomfortable.

i hope its a nice meal booked somewhere and not loud loud music in a pub.....complete with veil and plastic l plates.

A sling suitable from newborn will give head protection- you can get slings from 3 or 6 months or newborn ones that can be adjusted for head support.
