Hi everyone

There's still some space in the old thread - Waddling Zombies and Dancing Babies so no need to start posting yet. Just thought I would get it set up before I go home tonight ready for all you insommiacs!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Woweeee! big congrats to CountTo10 and Alkar and welcome to Daniel and Jack. Take care of yourselves everyone.

tyaca · 02/02/2008 17:08

cosima - lol at "fanjos to freedom finale" after feb babies come on down, and snap, cracking and popping, i think we now have the title for the end of the month thread

samsmam · 02/02/2008 17:12

Congratulations on the new arrivals. Lets hope that is the start off to many more arrival announcements very soon!

I seem to have, today, developed a roundness and am miserably uncomfortable. Does that happen at the 36 weeks stage? Can't sit down, can't walk, what is that all about- feeling today useless. Feels like baby is going to explode out of me.

Still no closer to chosing a baby girls name. Boys name was always going to be George but I am having a girl so any suggestions- I was thnking Georgia.

beansprout · 02/02/2008 18:42

Ruva - how are you getting on? Have been thinking about you loads. Let me know (either on here or at sproutingbean at hotmail dot com if you fancy a mini meet up (if you are still playing the waiting game). I could come to the cafe at the front of the hospital. I chatted to a few women who were being kept in for various reasons and I can imagine how difficult it must be. Hope you are ok.

Alkar - congratulations!! Fab names!! Daniel is ds2's middle name and Joseph is ds1's middle name!! Hope you are ok and recovering well from the section. I am now 10 days post section and you will feel much better, very soon. (My top tip is to get some Arnica!! )

PK - hope the phone calls are slowing down (although I suspect they aren't). Some people just have to know first. I got sooo fed up with people "calling to see how I was" which was just a lie as they were calling to see if I had had the baby yet. I used to say, very firmly, "we will tell you when we have had the baby" and then there would be silence.... Very, very tedious though. You have my full sympathy.28/01/08 - Jooseyfruit - (35, York, boy) DS 10yrs,DD 7yrs

Evening ladies, Congratulations Alkar!!!! Daniel is a lovely name too, hope you're home soon!
Well i'm a bit fed up today, had really painful heartburn / indigestion all night and was drinking tea with dh at 2.30am, then went out with dd and dsd today to garden centre and Asda for a wander, felt some twinges (yeah!!) came home for lunch, a bounce on the ball and then it all stopped again so went for a sleep and was woken up by crappy heartburn again at 5...... can you tell i'm getting fed up now? Sorry, what a long whinge!!! just had too many "how are you?" phone calls today, and it's difficult not to get annoyed with no sleep!!
Anyway, hope everyone is ok, don't know how those of you with teeny ones keep on posting so regularly, but it's lovely to have the support and i promise to try and emulate you all for it when this one finally finds it's sat nav and negotiates an exit!!(assuming i won't actually be pregnant for ever!)
take care all, and delighted to hear about the new arrivals! lolo x

beansprout · 02/02/2008 21:29

Lolo (and everyone else who has had twinges which have then stopped) - that must be really frustrating. I know that this time 2 weeks ago I was walking waddling around saying "I am so over being pregnant..." to anyone who would listen!

Sarah, Lucy and everyone due now/soon - good luck!!

Just wanted to ask everyone - at the moment we are one big newborn/pregnant thread but if anyone who is still waiting would prefer us to start up a post natal thread for baby related chat, please do say.

rozzyraspberry · 02/02/2008 21:42

Hiya beansprout.

I thought to make sure those due later in Feb are not abandoned we could just keep one thread going until we've all hatched. What does everyone else think?

I know that I would miss all you ladies who've had their babies if you went to a separate thread. It really helps to get excited about your babys arrival when you hear from those of you who've already had theirs! Makes you realise that all the discomfort, lack of sleep etc is worth it .

widgetsmummy · 02/02/2008 21:59

Congrats on the new arrivals - we are a bit boy biased so far, wonder if it will even out a bit!?

Had lovely couple of days with my mum around and can't wait to see her again when babe is born. Was hoping her coming would tempt fate to bring on labour but no such luck. Do think I am going to drive myself mad before LO arrives. Having more braxton hicks but nothing to suggest anything is starting and sometimes LO feels really high up again, bum lump that makes bending in the middle quite difficult.

Slept badly last night and am slightly impressed I'm still conscious so hoping being extra tired will help tonight.

Anyone else find maternity leave messes with your head about what day it is? Getting very confused, could have sworn it was Mon tomorrow.

Waffling now as DH on his Xbox with headphones on so no chance of communication. I figure I should let him while he still can but sometimes it drives me nuts! I have a special whistle though if I need his attention - seems to cut through the gaming noise!

Ladies with babes please stick around for now. It is good to hear what you are up so and I guess we'll naturally transform as we get to the end of Feb/beg of Mar.

Hope everyone sleeps well. Sending strong labouring vibes to those overdue/due now! We want some girls! x

tyaca · 02/02/2008 23:51

samsman - i love georgia and georgina actually. but if you set on it for a boys name then maybe save it for the baby after

beansprout (et al!) please hang around.... and while we're on subject, v nice to hear from you leesmum and glad all is going well.

widget, i can barely work out what time it is, let alone what day . i feel out of sync in general.... lots of afternoon kips and then always up at 2am...

yoga birth rehearsal today. have not really done any antenatal class, so this was DH's first group based thing.... within 10 minutes, he was spooning me in a roomful of other spooning couples while practicing golden thread breathing as i visualised the journey from the "pregnant island" to the "having a baby island" via the waves-stroke-contractions (the golden thread helps you find the quickest way over the waves BTW )..... heehhee..... he did a great job actually, the class ran over and he missed the first bit of the rugby and didnt even get twitchy and check his watch ...

sarahmikeandharry · 03/02/2008 08:07

HAPPY DUE DATE TO ME- SLACKER-AND Pia03hj!!!!

Very surprized to have met my due date as DS was 3 weeks early!!!! just shows how different it can be each time!!!!

Hope everyone is well and those who are overdue not to fed up with waiting, (i must admit i cannot wait to have my body back!!! and baby to hold- Very bored of preg and all the bloody phone calls!!!!)

Please all feb ladies that have hatched, stick aroung its great to hear how everyone is doing and managing, it would be lonly without your input!!!

Anyway, i have had a strange nite, woke up fair few times just feeling odd!!!! i also think my waters have been leaking as my pj's had to be changed in the night!!! So heres to hoping again!!!!!

Have got sore hips today though- not sure what thats all about- unless DD has dropped into pelvis a little more!!!!- i am eating pinapple for breakfast and bouncing on ball- anything to help her find the exit!!!lol

Will speak to you all later,

Have a great sunday everyone!!!

sarahmikeandharry · 03/02/2008 08:10

oh SAMSMAM- i had George for a boy too!!! WE are calling DD Rosie Olivia - Rosie beause its the one name we both really like and the only name DS will let us have!!! and Olivia after my grandmother who passed away when i was a little girl!!!!!

i am sure you will hear a name and it will just be the one!!! Good luck with choosing!!!!!!

beansprout · 03/02/2008 10:26

Excellent - that's what I was hoping you would all say!! One big thread it is then!!!

And... I had a total of five hours sleep last night!! Woo-hoo!!!!!
Hurrah for ds2!!!!

Lucyand2 · 03/02/2008 10:45

One big thread sounds good as it is really nice to hear about all the babies, it gives everyone hope that the babies will arrive eventually!

I had a lovely evening with the inlaws last night, they treated me to a curry (citrus all the way) and I had a few sips of wine. We had a good laugh & I had lots of braxtons but nothing else, this morning as usual I've got random tightenings and nothing else. As the front of my pelvis is hurting so much I doubt I'll be doing much today, may make it as far as the garden centre to show DD the chickens there. I honestly can't believe I am now past my due date as I never expected to get to it!

gingermumi · 03/02/2008 12:37

Big congrats to alkar and count and welcome to newbies.

Am feeling really tired and emotional today, toby has been really unsettled all night and having gone shopping with dds1 & 2 yesterday my c-sect really hurts. I wanted them to feel that i hadn't forgotten them in the excitemnt but am regretting it today. It's made worse by fact that dd2 (just a reminder - age 19) went out last night and got rat-arsed and is now languishing in bed which is where i would dearly love to be right now. Havn't had baby blues at all but feel quite down today.

Soz to be miserable just had to get it off my chest.

Have to do internet shop now or no-one will eat next week!

jooseyfruit · 03/02/2008 13:04

sorry you're not feeling great ginger. i'm remembering the up and down days with my two, it's tough but you will feel better.

I was thinking after reading your post that it feels like yesterday that i was 19 and out on the lash, and i must admit i don't miss it one bit!!! (do miss the lying in bed 'til 2 o'clock tho!)

I'm still here, no signs and nearly a week late.........fkety fk f*k. so pissed off.

Hi to all the overdue ladies and our reluctant, and far too comfortable, uteruses!!

gingermumi · 03/02/2008 15:28

thanks joosey

perhaps i'm just bitter cos i cant do it! Still i have got a gorgeous baby and the dds too!

mind you i'm still pissed off, house is a f**kin mess, no-one seems to care except me and dh has decided to make a new guinea-pig run - i'd rather he put the hoover over and emptied the washing machine. oh well, at least the hv isn't due or i'd be really stressed out! This is the worst thing about c-sect, the growing frustration at not being able to do things

gingermumi · 03/02/2008 15:30

looking at number of posts we might have to start a new thread - can we make it ante and post natal so we don't lose touch? i don't know how to do it, perhaps one of you super-technical ladies could do it? i guess we need some suggestions for titles too

SallyInYorkshire · 03/02/2008 15:32

Right am fed up with being preggo and have got one of those birthing balls - Can someone remind me what I'm supposed to do with it to get the baby into a good position for birth? can i just sit on it and watch TV while bouncing up and down gently every now and then?

samsmam, I love Georgia as a girls name. There were 3 Georginas in my class at primary school!!!! one of them had her name shortened to George (a la Famous Five) - Think this is less likely with Georgia as it's shorter anyway.

ayrshirelolo · 03/02/2008 16:21

Afternoon! well i'm still here and still pregnant, and still nothing much to report other than the odd random twinge..... oh well, no point in whinging, it won't help!! Just wanted to add my vote to staying as one thread, January ladies split into 2 some time ago (pre and post natal) and it's got very quiet and very lonely on the pre one now (lots of tumbleweed!! only a couple of us left!) some of the hatched ladies are very good about posting the odd supportive message, but i miss the banter so although i still feel like a newbie on this thread and therefore cheeky to be commenting, i would vote for staying as one!
Anyway, sending Sunday hugs to everyone who's pis**d off, whether pre or post natal!! lolo x

tyaca · 03/02/2008 16:22

new thread here guys... just thought i'd start it to be safe!

widgetsmummy · 03/02/2008 16:38

well done tyaca - keeping us organised!

hope you are all keeping warm on this dreary Sun afternoon...

ginger - sorry you feel down, focus on that little angel faced LO of yours and know that however you feel, most of us are dead jealous of you right now ;)

sarah - hope the waters are going and something is moving for you!

take care all x

blondiep14 · 03/02/2008 17:15

Still here, still pregnant - thought i would share my mantra with you all, is my standard greeting as soon as i pick up the phone. i don't even check who it is before i launch in to it. That'll teach the pesky sales people for calling me!!
