Hi everyone

There's still some space in the old thread - Waddling Zombies and Dancing Babies so no need to start posting yet. Just thought I would get it set up before I go home tonight ready for all you insommiacs!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
manamana · 01/02/2008 18:59

ohmygod - just had a wave of really wanting my baby to come! AM SO EXCITED, its the first time I've been really looking forward to this!!!! Gonna go and look at little clothes
Sorry v brief - just wanted to share, am grinning like cheshire cat now

aren't hormones odd...

CountTo10 · 01/02/2008 21:01

Hi guys, just wanted to pop on quickly to say we've hatched!!! Woke up wed morning with tightenings and jack arrived weighing 7lb 10oz at 4.24pm. We'd only got to the hospital an hour before so we were lucky he wasn't born at home!! We're home and he's doing so well. I'll come back on at some point over the weekend to give you the full lowdown. xxx

sarahmikeandharry · 01/02/2008 21:15

Congratulations counttoten,

Wow you did well with timing!!! hope all is well,

Look forward to hearing about it!!!!!1

ayrshirelolo · 01/02/2008 21:20

Oh congratulations Countto10!!!! Welcome to the world Jack! Looking forward to hearing the full story Countto10, let us know when you're up to it!!!!!
Well nothing much to report here either, Joosey it's a bit frustrating, isn't it? I'm getting so bored with being pregnant and having tightenings, dodgy tummy, mild pain, then it all stops again! It's been going on like this for a week or 2 and i'm fed up!!!!! Thanks for all the sympathy, though, ladies! There's only 3 or 4 of us left on Jan thread, so we keep on making comments about watching the tumbleweed roll by and being the last one left to stack up the chairs and sweep the floor...... think it's gonna be me though, as everyone else due to be induced before my next hospital appointment on 13th Feb (i'll be 41 +6 by then... and truly demented!!!)
Sorry i'm being rubbish at individual posts too, i'm not ignoring anyone though!
Lol at Manamana being excited, i was in Tesco earlier (must be the day for it!!) with dd and just happened to walk past newborn range.... Awwwwwwwwww!!!! and couldn't make up my mind whether i wanted a boy or another girl..... i suppose i just want a baby!!
Pk i know what you mean about the Mil, mine is a lovely woman adn we're normally pretty close but thank f*ck for caller ID.... as she phones constantly to see how "things are" and it's driving me a bit nuts!!! Mind you, preg hormones, my own mother is driving me up the wall too... mind you nothing new there!!!
Anyway, big waves to all.... and yeah, Tyaca, it's not just first timers who are obsessed..... my dh drove to Edinburgh and back today to pick up his dd (as he does every couple of weeks) which is about 140 miles on motorway and as usual i was not happy until he got home, i think i always feel like that but pregnancy makes you very vulnerable!! Sort out some Life assurance though, it's relatively cheap and you can do it online in about 3 mins!
Ok, off to drink more ruddy raspberry leaf tea...... or i might be a rebel and actually have a coffee!!!!
Wishing us ready / overdue ladies good labour vibes (race you Sarah!!!)and a peaceful night to the rest! lolo x

Egg · 01/02/2008 21:48

YAY YAY YAY countto10!!!!!!!!! Massive congrats. Jack is a lovely name, I wanted it as it was my granddads name but we stuck with Jacob instead. Oh another baby before I go to bed how lovely .

beansprout · 01/02/2008 21:58

alkar · 01/02/2008 23:00

manamana · 01/02/2008 23:39

woweeeee - just thought I'd check in before i went to bed and 2 bew babies!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations ladies!!!!
countoten - well done on getting to hosp on time!
alkar - are you posting from your hospital bed???? Hope you feel OK, sounds like it must have been pretty rough going.
Am off to bed now grinning even more - wow!
Good names

Jo9977 · 02/02/2008 01:12

Fantastic news on the two new arrivals Countto10 and Alkar!! I'm so pleased for you both! Yay, bop and stuff! Take care of yourselves and looking forward to hearing more details - great names btw, especially Daniel which is our chosen name too!!!

Pk616 · 02/02/2008 07:08

Good morning ladies,
Alkar and Count - CONGRATULATIONS to you both. you have cheered me up!
It appears that DP may have solved the MIL phonecall situation (we'll find out for sure next week!) She rang for a third time when he got home and he told her that I was rewally tired and when she rings me she usually wakes me up and he thinks that I need my rest more than I need to be checked up on! Yay, he actually did something!
Had a good nights sleep, well as good as it gets these days, and I'm looking forward to erecting the cotbed just as soon as I can persuade DP that he does have the energy to do it!

Gill79 · 02/02/2008 08:04

Now it's Feb the rush begins! Congrats countto10 and alkar - great news. Alkar really hope you're not at home already! Keep taking the painkillers even if it doesn't hurt (yet)....

Egg you asked a few pages ago about formula quantities. It recommends on the back of our sma tin 21 fl oz a day in the first 2 weeks (7 of the little bottles!!!) whereas te community m/w said two of the bottles should do - so about 8 -10fl oz? Anyway you're past that stage but it seems that the manufacturer wildly overstates the required amount!

Tyaca boobs started to become malleable yesterday as strugglimg to keep up with his appetite. You mentioned life insurance - currently trying to get this sorted and really stressed as dragging on and all on hold until cardiologist at hosp sends my results through nothing i can seem to do to hurry him up and it's imoprtant! Anyway reason i mention is was watching bbc breakfast news today and was report about the online no checks needed medical insurance - quick and easy to sort out but in reality well dodge because ANY medical prcedure (inc letter inviting you to a test) can invalidate it and you don't knw till you come to claim. Was thinking the same may well apply to life insurance so might be worth going through the pain with a proper real world ins co. not forgotren your cd but life intervened somewhat!

right got to go we're both hungry and i'm trying to juggle baby and keyboard little feet keep hitting the keys :-)

BTW life is absolutely great and we are completely in love with our little boy.

Wow two more babies!!!

Apologies for not being on much but Ds2 wants boobie butties all day long im shattered and have just about enough time to get dressed never mind put computer on !! we are fine though and James is now 7lb4oz and we have been discharged from mw.

Alkar and Count well done you two, more boys for the gang! Take care and looking forward to hearing all about the births xxx

Hope everyone else is fine, if not a bit fed up i'm sure

mymissus · 02/02/2008 08:39

Well done Alkar and Countto10. Fantastic news - two more gorgeous babies!!

Now we are properly in February - how exciting. Sorry overdue Jan ladies - you must be really frustrated.

Hope everyone has a lovely day today - blue skies and cold here so going to go for (another) long waddle.

Take care
xx

Egg · 02/02/2008 09:12

Congrats Alkar!!!!!!!!! I saw your post in the middle of the night and desperately wanted to respond but couldn't quite face coming downstairs and putting computer on. Welcome to Daniel. YAY again for more babies.

Today is my due date .

Drank a bottle of champagne last night. To myself .

morningglory · 02/02/2008 09:39

Wow! 2 more babies! Congratulations Countt010 and Alkar! Seems as if we are having a preponderance of boys so far. Hope you enjoyed the champagne, Egg. Can't wait to have a glass myself!

I've been away from here for a few days because I have had some really bad nights of broken sleep (I know, I should just get used to it!). Was able to catch up on rest yesterday, as nanny/housekeeper was here, so I now feel well rested.

I am getting everything ready for DS2's arrival on Monday (still don't have a name though!). Turned on the heat in his room, just put together breast pump and made sure it was working, opened packet of wipes to put in the wipes box, got the baby bath out, and FINALLY packed my hospital bag. Hopefully, the induction will be straight-forward and DS will be easily pushed out without any intervention, and we can go home same day.

Been afraid of going to the loo because I tried to go 2 days ago, and I could palpate his head...he's that low right now!

Waiting to hear news of more hatchings...looks like there are a couple of possibilities!

Egg · 02/02/2008 09:55

morningglory I never DARED to have a feel of the head, I was pretty sure I would be able to the morning I went into labour but it was too scary.......

Glad you have managed to catch up on sleep.

We do indeed have a LOT more boys. The only girls we have are twins I think. Ladle has two and mini and I have one each, and the rest are boys.

Ladle, are Orly and Leo home yet? I know it is normally around the due date and you have a week or two still until then but hoping they might have come home early. Hope to hear news from you soon .

Egg · 02/02/2008 10:31

Keep meaning to say to all of you yet to give birth. DO NOT GET YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO CALL YOU ON THE PATIENTLINE PHONE IN HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is much cheaper for you to call them, and is something like 50p a minute for them to call you. I am reminded about this as we just got our phonebill. DH made just over an hour of calls to me in hospital and it cost nearly £22!!!!!!!!!! BLARDY HELL. It was only cos my mobile packed up the morning I went into labour .

Thank you. Warning over...

Lucyand2 · 02/02/2008 10:34

Egg - Will do my best with the citrus curry, it is the last resort though At the moment I don't care how much squirting goes on as long as I get to give birth ASAP. I can count on one hand the number of nice comments I've recieved so far, I bet you get some crackers out and about with twins!

Joosey - LOL at the bouncing with a breast pump, I may have to try that one later when DP takes DD out for a walk (don't want him choking on his coffee!)

PK - ah, the wonderful world of the helpful phonecall! I've got caller ID but feel like I have to answer or people will worry! I'm just going to answer the phone and say 'Hello, I'm not in labour'

CountTo10 - Congratulations, that is great news! Sounds like a fairly speedy labour which is always nice

alkar - Congrats, hope you're all doing well!

Happy DD Bristols and VictorVictoria!

SallyInYorkshire · 02/02/2008 13:21

Congratulations countto10 and alkar!!!!! I really can't wait for my baby to arrive now!!! a bit optimistic tho cos am STILL only 37 weeks - the time is really dragging now!!!!!

jooseyfruit · 02/02/2008 14:29

congrats alkar and count, that's great news.

Egg- re: champagne, you go girl!!

Lucy- hope you had time for pumpin' and jumpin', it's ace.

pk-did your cot arrive?

I'm 40+5 today, and will mostly be drinking cumin tea, which is actually really nice, read somewhere it may help.

thought i was in labour this a.m, just needed a huge poo

cosima · 02/02/2008 15:43

Well done to all you pushers. Its definately a fanjo to freedom finale now isn't it. And do you all know what to do with them once they arrive? Did you have another meet up last week? I daren't leave my house anymore. hope there's some more babies today. I've added to the list.

Hi all!

So pleased when I logged on to see 2 new babies! Congratulations countto10 and Alkar - lovely names - so pleased for you!

39 weeks today - mum and dad have taken boys for the day so I think I'll go and have a lie down as I've never had a chance for a daytime nap during this pregnancy yet.
