Egg - I can understand you wanting to keep DS1s routine. Don't beat yourself up about a little bit of tv. He's probably aware that the babies don't have a set bed time like he does so it might be harder to settle him for a while. You sound like you're doing a fab job with them!

Egg - This is MY cotbed Yeah, not panicking about the time it'll take to arrive I just needed it to be in stock and I needed it to still be in the sale (which it was on both counts!) I imagine it will be used as a storage device too for the first three months, much the same as yours. But it'll be here and that's the main thing!
Thanks for mentioning about the arnica. I knew the theory and I know that you don't know if it's the reason why you haven't been in too much discomfort but the thought that it could be the reason is very reasuring for this first timer! I shall definately be taking mine! You sound a little distressed hun. I hope your fella can get home sooner rather than later and give the help you need and a very important cuddle. Lol @ Never having sex again! You will, eventually, but you'll probably be more protected than a mediaeval Knight going out to battle!

Ruva - Sounds like a lovely pampering session! I totally sympathise with the hormonal loss of temper (although I would have been pissed off at having to get out of a cab early and wandering around for 10 mins due to stubborness and lack of funds even if I wasn't heavily pregnant!)

Sarah - I have considered doing the dead to get things going (and for a little much needed bonding between the oldest man and I) but I kinda broached the subject gingerly with the old coot the other day and he didn't seem in the least bit interested! Think the idea freaks him out a bit!

mana - thanks for the hug! Dp has just got home and he's in good spirits so all is well again!

Rozzy - glad you're feeling better

alkar - DP has rather a large skull too! It does not fill me with optimism!!

violeta - I'm looking at the prospect of a later rather than an earlier birth too! I just don't think she wants to come out! And no hope of any nookie so lots of walking instore for me!

DS1 is bathed. He cried the whole way through. He is ok now as he has his Blankie (usually reserved for sleep time only). DH on way home so only an hour late, but has to work from home this evening and possibly in night so will not be able to help at all with feeds etc (I normally do all night feeds but he does evening ones at 9/10pm). At least it's the weekend, but if DH is up all night working he wont be much use tomorrow. Not managed to get in the bath today yet either . Think it is time to crack open some wine . Hehe, I guess that's one advantage I have over most of you, I CAN DRINK MYSELF SILLY - well perhaps not quite silly but a couple of glasses...... .

Hoping I get DS1 in bed before DS2 wants feeding. Can't put DS1 in bed too early as he slept til 4:30 earlier after a delayed start!

Anyway, PK your cotbed is lovely. I think nicer than my two .

Ruva, your pampering sounds lovely . I had a day at a health spa place for a pregnancy pamper thing before DS was born, it was sooooooooo lovely. No chance this time . Whereabouts in Mayfair? Was it the one down that little alleyway? I used to work in Mayfair and spent many an evening drinking round that way.

Have just ordered a Hug a Bub baby sling as my Baby Bjorn is not suitable until 3.5kg (think that is 8lbs plus) and it means I wont be able to leave the house alone unless DS walks, which is fine for a short trip but think he will be too jealous of babies in lovely new buggy to want to walk (he still sits in new buggy a lot stroking it...). Will HAVE to take all three out by myself on Monday as have to get DS to nursery, argh. Don't think sling will arrive in time, but it is near enough that hopefully he can walk.

Can you tell DS1 is watching tv at the mo and the others are asleep, I have verbal diohrhea (sp) again....

Hello everyone,

I haven't posted for a long while - am always busy with work and knackered in the evenings - but the end is in sight!! My last working day is Friday the 1st Feb!! V.Excited at the prospect of not having to get up so early for a little while before the LO arrives!!
I have been trying to keep up to date with everyone's goings on.....Congratulations to all the new mummies!! the pictures are all fantastic!!! can't wait to see what my little one will look like.

Violeta, Wotsits and Morningglory - you are my due date buddies - so it has been interseting hearing how you guys are finding things!

I have been back and forth to the hospital in the past couple of weeks, as the scan I had at 34 weeks showed the baby's tummy to be on the large size and the resistance in the umbilicle cord too high. Because of this I have had the glucose intollerence test done to see if I have gestational diabetes (thankfully tests turned out negative!!) as well as having to go to the day clinic twice a week for a CTG and doppler to check on LO's heart rate and cord resistance.

All seems okay - although the cord resistance is still a bit high - and I have an appt on 5th Feb with the consultant to discuss all these tests and whether induction will be necessary!! [GULP]

I am quite happy to wait till my due date before unleashing this LO on the world!!

Hope your sling arrives in time, but if it doesn't i am sure you will manage wonderfully, you seem to be doing really well.

If i manage half as well as you when DD arrives to join our family of 3 i will be happy!!!!

Yes am TOTALLY ready for my MAT leave now - Although they are letting me work from home at the mo, I still have to start at 8.30am.

I am looking at getting a sling, but have NO IDEA which one to get - there seem to be so many available and I don't actually know anyone who has ever used one... even though they sound fantastic to me!! Sounds like you are doing a sterling job with your Little bundles of joy!!

Evening ladies! Have put myself on the list, as it's getting very quiet on Jan thread, only a very few of us left so think you might have me for company for a while!
Very of those contracting / labouring etc just now, feel like i've been pregnant for EVER!! Just having a bit of a pants day, feeling sick, tired, weepy, sore, hormonal and keep snapping at dh, who's been lovely! Am very impatient to meet my baby now, but this could go on for another 3 weeks or so, only 39+1 today! anyway, sorry for whinging, just one of those Fridays, feeling too sorry for myself to reply to everyone individually , but sending you all female solidarity vibes, whatever you're doing!

wow PK thats the same cotbed I've got, very good choice lol I was so impressed with price and quaility and that it turns into a sofa, even if DH did say well where would we put it when its a sofa (still not sure where going to put all the kids!)
Egg glad Rebecca and Jacob are doing well and you seem to be copin wonderful, I hope DS settles himself back into his routine once he gets use to havin the babies about.

Well I'm still here (needless to say) I shall be 38wks on tuesday, I wake up feeling miserable and go to bed the same lol life just great and bless DS he now has a cold so not feeling well at all. Just hoping he'll be better soon as I worry what he will be like poorly without me here and such a change in rountine with me in hospital!
I'm going to mat unit on moday for my presentation scan growth scan and check up and they are going to make a decision on whether to start me off or a c-sec (depending on if twin a still footling) within a couple of days the appointment. DH keeps going 'not long now, only a few days now, are you feeling nervous' lol I think personally he's brickin his pants but won't admit it
I hope everyone is doing well, and that Gill well on her way to havin her baby if not already had lo

hello all!!!

Egg - when your hugabub arrives let me know how you get on with it... I have been lent a hugabub for when my LO arrives, but with a 36wk pregnant belly it's kind of hard to practice tying properly! It comes with an instructional DVD with all these ladies looking happy in the Australian sunshine, walking along the beach with their LOs etc... with the awful weather we've been having this past week it makes the prospect of motherhood seem even more unreal to me!!

I am going for a goodbye meal with work colleagues (and some of their partners) next week, DH amazed me by saying he would come but not have any alcohol... "Why???" I said astonished. "In case you go into labour, of course," he said. "But you just had a pint in the pub yesterday!" I said. Honestly I really can't imagine DH going for a week without a drink, let alone 3 weeks. It's not that he's an alcoholic or anything he just likes his beer! (as do I when not pregnant )

Yep, they can reduce DH's salary...he's not the worst...some in his department are facing 7K!! It's the single status stuff but I'm hopeful we can salvage something now we know how the scoring works - could have done with that information at the beginning but hey ho

Egg, you are doing fab! Really impressed that you can still come onto MN...I have already lined up my friend to announce my news as I have no confidence in surfacing much for the first week! It's just the not knowing what to expect!

BABY ALERT BABY ALERT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received a text a couple of hours ago from Gill (well I think from her DH) saying she had her baby at 3:30am this morning by c-section weighing 7lb 4. Mum and baby doing well.

YAY OH YAY OH YAY!!!!!

Now there was a name mentioned on the text, and at first I thought it was baby's name, but actually think it might be baby's surname so don't want to broadcast it on here just in case... (sorry Gill for being so vague .

Anyway, fab news all round and hope she didn't have a hard time before they decided on c-section.

All ok in Egg household. DH working a lot so bit manic but not too bad. At least he is here for moral support.

Baby crying so have to run.

Leesmum - finally read your lovely birth story . Glad James was ok after the meconium, can be quite nasty so lucky he didn't inhale any .

Hi everyone!
First of all - congratulations Gill!!! How are you?!

Thank you so, so much for all your good wishes. Dh has been telling me about them - means a lot!

Ds2 finally has a name! We have called him Theo Daniel, otherwise known as "titch" . So far he has just fed and slept. He has seriously had his eyes open for a total of about 5 minutes since he was born!

Queen Charlottes in Hammersmith is the child free zone. Didn't find out until I was in theatre, so everything was about to start and I was suddenly told I couldn't see ds1 for 3 days. Not good. Also, there are women in the hospital with various pregnancy complications who haven't seen their other children for weeks. Not good state of affairs.

Will catch up properly soon but just wanted to say "hi" for now. Have been thinking of you all loads!
