Hi everyone

There's still some space in the old thread - Waddling Zombies and Dancing Babies so no need to start posting yet. Just thought I would get it set up before I go home tonight ready for all you insommiacs!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

HELLO sorry still no time for proper catch up (have not even managed to read leesmum's birth story yet ) but just wanted to let you know...

Gill just texted me to say she is having contractions and that, un beknown to her, her waters broke on either Weds or yesterday according to the hospital. She is back home coping with the contractions now but looks like we might have ANOTHER BABY soon!

Please send lots of good luck labour vibes!

Mum about to leave, no doula today so all alone for the afternoon, argh. Will prob get on MN more tho as no-one else here to tell me to go and lie down! Hope to be back later but am going to lie down now before 3pm feeding.

Pk616 · 25/01/2008 14:09

Jo - that is really pants news about your fellas wage cut. Are they allowed to do that?
mana - lol @ PG brain. Ya silly sausage! AT least you didn't go into your appointment screaming at the MW for making you wait so long!!
Poblet - Thank You! I am very pleased. neigh, chuffed as fc is the more appropriate expression of my joy!
Egg - Thanks for letting us know
Gill - GOOD LUCK hun. sending strong calm labouring vibes your way!

tyaca · 25/01/2008 14:21

OMG Egg! cheers for letting us know about Gill. woweeeee!

Egg · 25/01/2008 15:03

Skimming through quickly (gave up idea of lie down after DD decided 2 hours since last feed was long enough...), I used arnica tablets both times (got them from Boots) to help with internal bruising etc. Both times had v little pain afterwards despite having stitches, no idea if it was related but only had the odd paracetamol on the first day and then just took the arnica.

Egg · 25/01/2008 15:07

Slacker fab pic! You are v brave posing in your bra, although you look great so no need to be be brave really! Notice you are hiding your identity though just in case! Can't believe you look so good when it's your fifth!

ruva · 25/01/2008 15:29

Hi all,
congrats to beansprout, way to go sister,
Went out yesterday for my mother-to -be ritual i swear i was in heaven, its a 2hour massage and facial and lots of smoothies, i got it as a pressie from dh, i highly recommend its in Mayfair- went to selfrigdes and saw some six inch heels from miu, miu oh i was almost in tears oh well blame it on the hormones, met dp for a drink we decided to go for dinner, Until we took a cab told the guy we needed a cash point before getting to the restaurant -he stopped at a round about in hammersmith so we had to jump out and walk to the restauarant could not find it after walking for ten minutes in the dark by the thames dh would not ask for directions, was pissed off told him it was illegal PK not to have cash on you thats why he could not pay the cab (i did not have cash BUT thats different)finally found the restaurant my lo was on my knees like had dropped and was braxton hicking through out the meal. what a night. Then to top it off had a strange dream that the babies feet had come out first and were hanging from my fanjo told dh and he said some women dream of having given birth to cats (not funny)

sarahmikeandharry · 25/01/2008 15:37

Hi all

Midwife just left- so p*ssed off at waiting in all day why can't they make appointments!!!! arghh!!! its bad enough after having LO without waiting in before the birth!!lol

Anyway BP 120/86 so normal for me!!! trace of protein and trace of white blood cells- can be sign of infection- nothing to worry about apparently.

LO's head is free- after being 4/5 engaged for the last few weeks!!!! was hoping labour would kick in but DD seems happy where she is for now!!! have told DH to come home horny!!!!

CMW will call sunday to check BP again and thats all for now really!!!!

sarahmikeandharry · 25/01/2008 15:37

sarahmikeandharry · 25/01/2008 15:39

ruva · 25/01/2008 15:45

Hi sarah,
did i read correctly horny, am never doing that deed again i haven't done it in 6 months its what has brought all this - the meal was lovely though felt hungry again the minute i got into a cab on way home.
Its not fair that you get platinum service a visit from the mw you so lucky, i am not mentally prepared to have the lo now, you seem to be ready goodluck.

sarahmikeandharry · 25/01/2008 15:49

Ruva- yes you read it right- midwife said to have plenty of nookie and its sure to get things moving!!! lol- DH is pleased though!!!!

sarahmikeandharry · 25/01/2008 15:51

Whats you due date Ruva? couldn't see you on the latest role call!!

leesmum · 25/01/2008 15:54

Hi ladies

sorry to hear some of you are getting fed up, it's horrible, especially when you are ready.

Congratulations to beansprout and the family, love to you all and looking forward to hearing all about your lo when you get home and get time

Egg how are the twins? and send gill some big pushing vibes off us all, and lots of love as well xx

James is doing great i have put some pics on profile xx

manamana · 25/01/2008 16:00

Wow, lots going on today.
PK HOW EXCITING - I've been nesting this afternoon and playing around reorganising baby stuff - getting the perfect cot will be brilliant. Have alarmingly noticed that we kept hardly any 0-3 month babygros (4!) and they are all blue so gonna have to get dh on the case this weekend for some white ones - just in case its a dd and not ds!!! Have got plenty of newborn sized stuff so odds are it'll be too big for those Sending you a virtual hug after fallout with dh, just another reminder that we are no longer in charge of mind or body!!!
Egg, Thanks for sharing news re gill - how exciting. Have vision of you surrounded by all your children - all peaceful like some victorian nursery , if I visualise hard enough maybe they'll all be good as gold all afternoon.
Great bump pic i keep meaning to get camera out so dh can take one of mine for posterity. Last time never got around to it and one of my abiding memories of labour really kicking in is dh "quick, get your clothes off so I can take a photo of the bump" - me "grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" - needless to say, no pics!
Mum-to-be pampering sounds heavenly, mmmmmm.

sarahmikeandharry · 25/01/2008 16:00

Hi leesmum- James is gorgeous!!!!

The brothers look so cute together, Lee looks so happy to be with his new brother!!!

How are you feeling?

Hope all is well,

ruva · 25/01/2008 16:05

Sarah,
i am not on the roll call as i don't know how to do it, i am due on 27th feb and i live in west london so if anyone out there knows how to do it please add me on.

Egg · 25/01/2008 16:14

DH has called and they have an emergency incident at work (he works in IT) and he might not get home tonight until v late. My first night without my mum here .

When I burst into tears on hearing this he said he would do whatever he could to get home by normal time of 6:40. I was perfectly ok thinking I would be alone for a few hours, but was counting on him bathing DS1 while I feed DTs. Bad enough trying to get supper for DS1 when DTs are here, esp considering they have fed at 2:40 and 3:40 respectively so will need food again around 5:40 and 6:40 or earlier, right when DS1 is normally being bathed etc.

Oh well. I guess I might as well get used to it.

No news from Gill so guessing things are happening .

Have had the contraceptive talk from various midwives and the HV. No-one believes me when I say we will never be having sex again. Not only do I shudder at the thought, but when on earth will I ever think "hmm, I think I fancy a shag now instead of trying to salvage some sleep". The midwives all nod knowingly saying that everyone says that and then they fall pregnant 4 weeks after giving birth.

It will not happen.

If you fall pregnant within a year of having a multiple pregnancy you are twice (I think) as likely to have another one.

I will never, ever, ever EVER have sex again.

Leesmum. Your boys are adorable. As with the other babies, James looks nice and rounded and not all runty like mine! I think mine are getting bigger though, but still got matchstick legs etc. Your DS1 looks so very cute with his baby bro .

Anyone heard from Ladle lately? Hope she and her lovely girls are ok.

manamana · 25/01/2008 16:43

aw egg, sending coping vibes. can you give bathtime a miss to help reduce the workload or would that mean ds might be harder to get to sleep?
off to look at leesmum's pics

manamana · 25/01/2008 16:45

gorgeous

rozzyraspberry · 25/01/2008 16:50

Just on quickly in the middle of making tea.

Congratulations pk on getting the cotbed you were after. Won't matter if lo is here before cotbed if you have moses basket.

Gill - good luck - hoping everything goes well.

Leesmum - James is gorgeous!

Egg - won't matter if ds1 doesn't get a bath tonight. DH does night shifts 2 nights a week and I remember trying to juggle ds1s bathtime with ds2 feeds etc. It does get easier (although I had only one baby!).

After a few crappy days of feeling tired and emotional I'm feeling a lot better today.
The boys have been good as gold so I'm no longer thinking 'why am I doing this again?' and am getting more excited about meeting this lo again. Cleaned the oven today and got some healthy meals in the freezer for the boys so that's another couple of things of the list. Have had a lot of tightenings round the bump today (not painful) and pressure low down so think baby has maybe dropped but will find out on Monday at my appointment. 38 weeks tomorrow so suppose it could happen anytime now although based on past experience (ds1 3 days late and ds2 5 days early) I think ds3 will probably arrive between 39 and 41 weeks.

Take care everyone! Looking forward to more baby news soon!

alkar · 25/01/2008 17:13

Leesmum the pics are really good, James is gorgeous and the one of both boys so cute!

PK - glad you got your cotbed, hope it arrives in time.

I am 39 weeks tomorrow and LO's bum is still firmly lodged in my ribs I dont think he's gonna make an appearance anytime soon. Bit concerned as DH has a big head, worried this one cant make it out!!!!

Good luck Gill...

Egg · 25/01/2008 17:18

Can miss DS's bath but he was a nightmare to settle at lunch, has been a bit of a nightmare for a few nights esp at getting settled initially (keeps shouting for mummy or daddy - think he knows we go to babies when they cry so he wants us to go to him too) so he really needs his bath to keep him in his routine as much as poss.

He is eating his supper at the mo (fish fingers, beans and peas, another culinary masterpiece a la Egg, but didn't want to be in the middle of cooking and a DT woke up crying...). Hence I am on computer as it is on dining table. DS is also watching tv while he eats , it keeps him happy .

PK glad you got your cotbed ordered, what did you go for? Will be fine without it if you have the moses basket (as everyone else has said already so I might as well shut up!!). Our second cotbed is being very useful for keeping clean dry blankets, muslins etc in, and for stashing my sleeping bag and pillow in during the day. The other one has about 20 packets of nappies under it!

violeta · 25/01/2008 17:44

Good luck Gill! How exciting!

Leesmum: Lovely photos. James is absolutely gorgeous.

Slacker: your bump looks very similar to mine!

Had appointment with m/w this afternoon. Baby still 3/5 engaged (am 36 weeks now) but m/w didn't think that this would necessarily mean lo would be early (which is what I'm hoping!) as she very reassuringly said that this often happens and then you go overdue. Grr. The family on both sides have been giving us their predictions for dates and they've all been early - I do hope I'm not here twiddling my thumbs at the end of Feb!
