good news hatrick

RUMPEL · 02/01/2008 18:41

Evening All,

Great news HATRICK you must be feeling a wee bit better now and a blue one too!
Is anyone else going to find out if thye can?

SCOTTISHSUSAN/MUMMYWANNABE - I am currently doing my BATQFE at Uni. Started 2005 but been preggers 3 times, miscarried twice and now preggers again. Had to withdraw from several units as was so sick during pg and Uni used to be far away from us - we moved here in July though. I was a lecturer but gave it up to be STAHM until LO and new LO are a bit older. You still have loads of prep and marking to do with adult education and it does creep into your life substantially. I do love it though and will defo go back. We are very fortunate that we can afford for me to be at home and LO goes to nursery 1 day a week - which she loves. Must be major pressure with 5 kids, 1 growing, husband, house and job!!! Do you have a cleaner/au pair help at all?

PAULA - hope family crisis is okay and not too bad (akin to Easties or something).

MINKUS - LYCOPODIUM and yes I take Ipecac 30c and Nux Vom 30c for ms. You'll get Nux Vom in Boots but the others you will probably need to go to Nelsons home page for.

Been feeling rough re ms again - God I feel like I have been pg for about a year already - bleurgh. Booking in appointment tomorrow. Have to go to the hospital here for it.

My lower back is aching today (SI joint) I need to buy a new pump for my gym ball and start sitting on it - my muscles are obvioulsy gished!
I am soo thirsty as well but water is turning my stomach during the day and then I end up drinking all night and peeing all night!

Well am off to feel sorry for myself and see to my screaming wein!!!

Take care all
xx

ScottishSusan · 02/01/2008 19:41

Evening

No Rumpel I don't have a cleaner or au pair. I did have cleaner but gave her up when I reduced my hours to save pennies. I have a fabulous friend who child minds for my younger children. She has 13 children of her own and the patience of a saint!!

I just have to be organised and have routine - it's how I survive - it's so hard to maintain this though when you feel sick and it's Christmas hols - will get back into it next week.

Felt horrible this afternoon and then felt so hungry tonight that I devoured 2 bowls of stovies. Now I have terrible indigestion and a very uncomfortable stomach..
What are we like? Sick or hungry....thirsty, tired....emotional etc,etc... hee! hee! Good job we're all in the same boat!!

Night xx

Chocolatedays · 02/01/2008 20:05

Hello all - I'd like to join if that's ok! Had our 12week scan on Christmas Eve - all seemed ok. (we were nervous wrecks) - and starting to get used to the idea we will finally be parents THIS YEAR!!!

I've added myself too - it seemed to be the done thing!

Happy New Year to everyone.

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days but it's been hectic with a few dramas thrown in for good measure!

Sunday, DH left at the crack of dawn to go and play golf with his cricket club buddies so decided to take DS to Poole Park to have a play and go for a walk. Picked up my Mum and Dad for good measure. Arrived at the play area and as soon as DS ran onto the rubbery tarmac stuff he slid from one side to the other. We'd had a slight frost over night and the protective matting was treacherous!
Decided to take a walk around the lake and feed the ducks. Got 3/4 of the way around and I slipped on some algae covered concrete and went straight down on my stomach and boobs so quickly I didn't have time to put my hand out in front of me (my other hand was holding DS so I brought him down with me!) Luckily we didn't end up in the lake! Felt such a bloody fool. Mum was going like a demented chicken by this point. Got up and carried on walking although by this time my boobs were bloody agony. Went to the cafe for a drink and then had a ride on the train around the park for DS. Got home and luckily DH turned up about 1.30. Climbed into bed feeling very sorry for myself. DH did me a hot water bottle ( not too hot) to help with the aching muscles I'd discovered. Think I managed to pull every muscle from my groin right up into my shoulders!
Abandoned the idea of going to a party at SIL house that night. Just as well I did as DH & DS went and DS decided to choke on a marshmallow. Ambulance called which took 10 minutes to arrive as they are routed over a lifting bridge over Poole Harbour which was up at the time!. DH tried everything to remove the wedged marshmallow and eventually managed to tickle his tonsils to make him gag. By the time the paramedics arrived DS was sat on DH's knee feeling sorry for himself. Even the paramedics were panicking by the time they got there due to the length of time it had taken them. DS then managed to polish off a huge amount of party food and juice but apparently he doesn't like sweeties now!
Then to top it off one of the rabbits died NYE. They say things happen in three's don't they?
Congrats Kitty on your scan. You must be so relieved.
Hatrick Great you've had some better news re your test results. Fingers crossed for your next appointment.
Sorry this has been war and peace. Shows what happens when you don't come on for a few days.
And I'm with everyone else, MN IS ADDICTIVE. Why didn't I know about it when I was TTC DS or even pg with him?

libralady · 02/01/2008 20:07

Sorry just changed my EDD as the forms I had through with my combined test results had me a day earlier than I thought.

Hi all

Good news Hatrick, i bet you feel greatly reassured by your scan results.

MrsHop welcome, I too am first time mum due on 21st July!

I know what you mean about worrying if everything is ok, last week i could definitely feel a small firm lump in my abdomen but this week it doesn't seem so firm and definite and am paranoid that something has gone wrong - more likely l i've just got an extra layer of fat covering it!! but can't help but worry.

Have my scan on Friday and then combined nuchal fold/bloods on Monday and can't wait to see baby for the first time, but very nervous too.

First day back at work today, which was no fun but had to get it over with some time.

HPG · 02/01/2008 21:53

Hi - I have just recently moved to N8 and am due on 13.07.07. Does anyone know of any antenatal classes in the area where I can meet other mums to be.

I am also having my baby at the Royal Free - all the other threads have comments about the Whittington - anyone had any experience with the Royal Free?

HPG · 02/01/2008 21:57

P.S this is my first baby and i am still waiting for my first scan (its on 15.07.08 buy which time i will be 14 weeks!) so am really nervous!!

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 02/01/2008 21:58

Oh gosh - welcome to all the new people and fab news on great scan results - I can't keep up!!

My scan is next week and I can't wait. Just got over a bout of tonsilitis and DD has been poorly for a week or so and is still not right.

libralady · 02/01/2008 22:55

Is anyone watching My Fake Baby on Ch4?

I am sat here in complete bewilderment!

MrsHOP · 02/01/2008 23:24

Oh wanted to see that but forgot about it! It looked quite sad though I thought - did the ladies who have the fake babies have real ones too, or were they lonely?
Feeling pretty sick this evening, just had a good old attack of the killer retching...

isaidno · 03/01/2008 08:03

I watched most of the fake baby programme (before being too tired !) and I found it just odd, especially the woman who was spending £300 in Harrods for an outfit for one. And she had about 4 really expensive white prams she took her dolls for walks in....She said it was the perfect baby, you could dress it up and push a nice pram with none of the dirt and crying. IMO the dirt and crying are part of the package!

Feel fine lately - I am def feeling little movements - I am absolutely positive.

Hope ms is easing off for the rest of you, and sorry to hear about your traumas libralady!

Minkus · 03/01/2008 09:04

OOooh Isaidno I am sure I can feel movements too! Just a little tiny "tap tap tap" if I'm in the right position, only really noticed it this morning. Last time I didn't feel ds until 18 weeks so am surprised that at 13+3 it's there.

Wow there are so many of us now! Hello to HPG.

LibraLady are you ok after falling over? Must have been a bit scary.

Will be taking ds to nursery in a bit then planning a day on the sofa (again), may call work to see how they're doing, not that I really care that much, I've been away for 8 weeks nearly because of this dratted hyperemesis but I supose I should show willing!

Have a good day all

Mikus
xxx

sweetkitty · 03/01/2008 09:13

isaidno - I have been feeling movements since Christmas Day only at night when I am in bed and all is quiet.

libralady - how are you feeling now?

HPG - welcome to the thread remember to add yourself to the stats

My fake baby was really strange, felt ever so sorry for the Gran who had brought up her grandson for a few years then he moved to NZ. Agree the woman with the Harrods dressed babies was bizarre.

libralady · 03/01/2008 09:36

Hi,
I'm fine now. Got over the shock of it. Just can't believe how bizarre that Fake Baby programme was.
Thought it was classic when the gran was on the webcam with her grandson saying look I have a new baby Harry and he replied, it's a doll you numbnuts! I must admit DH & I POSL. I then promptly went and threw up my dinner (sorry if TMI).
Bloody freezing here today!. Was planning on going for another walk with DS to feed the ducks, but the wind is howling and it is bitter. DS is lying on the sofa under my huge Welsh Fleecy Blanket watching Tom and Jerry. Can't believe snow is forecast later!
Really must get dressed in a minute. Feel like such a slob!

Jodiew79 · 03/01/2008 09:40

Morning peeps..

How is everyone and their bumps! I must say, mine is HUGE! I'm now revelling in it and letting it 'all hang out!' I know it's not post christmas blubber as i was really careful and did ALOT of walking/hiking over the festive period, as I put on a shed load of weight with LO and have promised not to do that again, I lost it all and an extra stone, so I'm not going to undo all that hard work!!!!

Glad everyone is getting positive results from scans and things, it's such good news!! No twins yet though???

Any one any thoughts on fake tan while pregnant as I'm starting to look abit blue????

Minkus · 03/01/2008 11:29

JodeiW am a little jealous of your bump I must confess- I have absolutlely no sign of one and am desperate to start feeling preggers rather than just sick!

Have you all got the beginnings of bumps then? I've lost 1.5 stone through the hyperemesis though so maybe thats why I don't feel like I've got a bump- maybe it's there but I'm not used to seeing myself with this lack of flesh (relatively speaking of course!) I even have collarbones now, don't think I've seen them for about 10 years

Libra it's really cold here too, would be lovely to think we might get a bit of snow the country would grind to a halt again and oh dear dh wouldn't be able to get to work from out here in the sticks how awful
Really miss him now he's back at work.

Well my excitement for the day will consist of washing my hair. Have not done it since Monday and it's like an oil slick, had to put a hat on to take ds to nursery. I know how grim is that! I just couldn't be bothered, my lazy tendencies are happily creeping back in again

Jodiew79 · 03/01/2008 11:45

It is nice to have a bump to show off, but I'm dreading the long hot summer we are bound to have when I'm heaving around the biggest bump ever and everyone else has tiny neat things, like what happened to me last time!!! DS was born in the September of that hot hot summer, and the final 2 months were dreadful! I was hospitalised when I was 37 weeks for 3 days, and put on 4.5 stone (alot was water retention), so fingers crossed it won't happen again....
Been to docs and he says there is a high chance, but depends on weather! so youcan bet your bottom dollar it will be 35 degrees again!

ScottishSusan · 03/01/2008 11:45

Hi everyone!

It is snowing here in the east of Scotland and cold. Not a lot lying yet and dd keeps asking "when will it be ready to play in mummy?" She is so excited! Bless!! I am not so thrilled about it as was hoping for a trip to Edinburgh to Ikea sale but too risky.

I have got a definate bump but as it is number 6 it is probably not suprising. I have been feeling movement for a week or so now - very reassuring!

Well I am away to sort out some lunch for the masses and hopefully dd will get her wish this afternoon and will get to play in the snow!

isaidno · 03/01/2008 11:47

I have a little bump - but it depends what I'm wearing. Tried on my smallest pair of maternity trousers this morning and immediately looked huge! Decided to squeeze into my jeans, and now look a bit podgy.
I don't think it's a real bump until it's still visible when you lie on your back!

sweetkitty · 03/01/2008 12:03

I definately have a bump not just fat now. Haven't weighed myself in a while though. I honestly don't care how much weight I put on, I know it will come off after the baby is born so am not going to stress about it (having 3 under 5 and BFing a newborn will be the best diet ever).

With DD1 I was 10 stone and a size 12 before I got pregnant, was 12 stone before she was born, was 9 stone 8 weeks after and down to a size 10.

DD2 (9 months after DD1 was born) I was sitll 9 stone and a size 10, put on 3 stone so ended up 12 stone again but it was all bump whereas with DD1 I seemed to put on weight all over. Day after DD2 was born I was in size 10 jeans and I ended up 8 1/2 stone and a size 8.

This time who knows but I am not that bothered about it, I have a friend who has weight issues all her life and struggles to keep her weight down (she yo yos) all she said when you asked her about her pregnancy was "I'm huge" I saw her a few weeks agoa when her baby was only 7 weeks and yes she still looked big but she was already doing WW, which I think is sad really as she had a section so had major surgery I think she should have given herself a few months to get over that but I uppose in her mind getting the weight off is the most important thing (she told me she was only BFing as it made you lose weight).

Minkus - poor you the HE sounds like a total nightmare, I always feel when I moan about feeling sick a lot, it's not great but manageable nothing like being hospitalised and on a drip. I hope it leaves you really soon, when did it go with DS?

libralady - I went out this morning although not snowing her it's freezing.

Jodie - I know what you mean about the weather thing, I had DD1 in London in July and it was horrible, I think all she wore for the first 6 weeks was a vest. I'm in Scotland now so no chance of 35 degs although am hoping for some nice weather, I have visions of baby lying out in the pram in the garden (all sleeping and content of course ) and the DDs playing around him/her. Let's hope for a cool July and a nice hot August (but not too hot).

ScottishSusan - am of your snow don't think it will reach across West today. Would love the DDs to be able to play in it.

Oh one final thing - is anyone really tired in the afternoon, i'm fine in the morning, get chores done and usually go out for a bit but by about 2pm I am crashing, it was fine when DP was at home as I could have a nap but not now. Really need to find something to perk me up a bit.
