Hiya SweetKitty - talking about strange dreams, I dreamt last night that I went to my French class (which is this evening) and when I got there, my French teacher had suddenly become pregnant and looked like she was 7 months gone!! Weird!!

I use babycentre.co.uk too for updates on how baby is growing. It's very good and thankfully I've got out of the habit of looking at it everyday - it seemed like it was taking ages for any of the developments to happen to me!!

sweetkitty · 13/02/2008 09:44

MissChika - DD1 likes looking at babycentre too to see how the baby is growing. She is now telling everyone she has 2 sisters, DD2 and one in my tummy. She gets all stroppy if someone says it might be a boy, apparently it is a girl called Rosie and that is it. Going for a 4D scan in 3 weeks so we shall see if she is right and if she's nto I don't know what we are going to do.

TJuice · 13/02/2008 09:52

hi ladies

i have the Weleda oil and the Palmers massage oil - that is really nice - its sinks in quickly. Also taking quite a lot of this Udo's choice oil in my morning smoothies. Hope it does the same trick of cod liver oil, which I can't stomach . . . .

i feel awful 'cos i ate a grilled goat cheese sandwich yesterday, THEN googled it and got myself all paranoid. hope i am not being too cavalier about the food thing (I have two cups of builders tea a day too)

i did though, make a giant leap in preparation, so in addition to bags full of look here

I bought it second hand here, but will get a new mattress from babymattressesonline. Can't you get mattresses cleaned though?

TJuice · 13/02/2008 09:53

whoops - that was supposed to be "bags full of pointless cute baby clothes, i have a cot"

legsy · 13/02/2008 09:58

Morning! I've had tons of wierd and vivid dreams. Some are baby related (dreamt I gave birth but then lost the baby - hope that's dream and not a premonition!) and others are completely random (dreamt I was in a film with Daniel Day Lewis and a bloke I went on a date with at college and haven't thought about for over 15 years). I think it's disturbing my sleep as I don't feel particularly refreshed when I wake up.

But the sunshine is helping

legsy · 13/02/2008 10:07

TJuice - I've been utterly paranoid about food since I found out I was pregnant. Driven DH up the wall at times, though I think I've got my head round it all now. If the goats cheese sandwich was from a supermarket or chain or reputable source it's probably fine - according to my sister, most organisations would only use pasteurised cheeses because it's too much risk for them not to. If you're really worried, go to your GP and she can give you a blood test if there's a risk of infection. I was so embarrassed when I went and felt like a paranoid idiot but my GP was completely understanding.

I think the current recommended limit for caffeine is equivalent to about 6 cups of tea a day so you're fine there. Though a more recent survey suggested two thirds of that was safer. Still fine.

The Stokke Sleepi looks brilliant - will definitely investigate further

JODIEhavingababy · 13/02/2008 11:45

Morning.

How is everyone today? Feeling better now the sun's out for the 4th day in a row??? I know I am....

Joescar - If you are worried, I would go see a midwife, as shortsafe said, she can easily use the doppler.

As for stretchmarks, I'm giving up! I lathered myself up to the eyballs morning noon and night last time and I still looked like a tiger once DS was born! Had them all up my thighs, back of knees, tummy back sides, Awful. couldn't go swimming or anything.. (well I suppose I could, but didn't want to!) They had only just started to disappear when I fell pregnant again. This time I am adament that I am NOT going to put on as much weight, (I fell into the horrible habit of thinking - 'oh well I'm pregnant, I'm only going to get fat anyway' and ate whatever the hell I wanted) That is so not going to happen this time, and with a toddler, it's a lot easier to keep active.

As for dreams, I'm very disappointed as last time I had ALOT of saucy dreams about everyone and anyone! Even Kevin Spacey, who I now love! and a few ex boyfriends! I was looking forward to them again, but I haven't had any (yet) and my libido has gone on holiday. I hope it's not gone too long, I thought with all the hormones racing it should be here!!!!

EEC · 13/02/2008 11:53

My libido disappeared too. Alright for me as I don't feel like it. I think poor DH getting desperate!

lovely sunshine!

sweetkitty · 13/02/2008 12:15

Libido - mine has been MIA for a while too

Tjuice - please don't worry about the grilled goats cheese sandwich, the milk would have been pasteurised and the chances of it becoming infected with Listeria at great enough level I would say is

JODIEhavingababy · 13/02/2008 12:21

Oh yeah, the food thing! I take it all with a pinch of salt (well for the most part, I obviously don't go around binge drinking and smoking crack!) But I'm a bit more careful. On the whole, I only eat unpasterised/blue cheese if it's cooked, althogh I know in France and Germany, they say it's OK to eat these. And I still like my steak Medium - Rare, but I don't eat it every night, I don't eat alot of shell fish anyway, but again it's ok if it's cooked. Although I do have a penchant for Smoked Salmon. I have been known to nibble on a bit of Pate too! I think the health 'officials' have to tell you about every little thing that might cause 'damage' but I think everything is OK in modereation. A healthy happy mum leads to a healthy happy baby!

I do say all this with great hind sight, I was a lot more careful with my first!!!

Sorry for long post!

TJuice · 13/02/2008 13:11

thanks - reassuring news.

i have eaten it once or twice before and not thought, but its when you get going on google, if can do your head in with horror stories.

now eating the biggest cinammon roll ever - its the size of a plate. I wish cakes were high risk . . . then i wouldn't be such a piggy.

what am I talking about?

sweetkitty · 13/02/2008 13:30

Mmm cinnamon
Mmm grilled goats cheese
Mmm food

I can't stop eating either I'm not a breakfast person normally but I am starving hungry in the morning now. Also having a 4pm snack and a 9pm snack now which I never used to. Weighed myself this morning and I have put on another pound which is 3 so far should be a lot more as I can't stop eating.

We are coming up on the 1000 message mark ladies, anyone got any witty thread titles for our new thread? I can't think of any, I think I lose about 20 IQ points per baby I'm so dumb now.

MrsHOP · 13/02/2008 13:43

I am so hungry at the mo too - I am really bang on the carbs as they are the only things filling me up. I do an 11am and 4pm snacky. I think our little ones must be growing lots at the mo so need lots of energy food (that's my reasoning anyway).

Going to see Juno at the cinema tonight, anyone seen it? My girlfriends have stopped acting weird and are now trying to think of things to do which don't involve me watching them drinking...bless em

MissChika · 13/02/2008 13:49

Definitely must be when you get to a certain stage. My appetite has been pretty constant up to now but over the past few days I've been so hungry - pretty much as soon as I've finished eating!!

MrsHOP - haven't seen Juno but really want to! Btw, did you see the link I put on this thread re nappylady?

mummypig · 13/02/2008 14:02

oh I love goat's cheese too!

I have to say I have been far less careful about my food than I was in either previous pregnancies. I went out for a wonderful meal with dp where I drank some wine and even ate some liver . I ate some brie this morning... but it did say on the package it was made with pasteurised milk. I generally feel that if I haven't become ill from eating these things before, why should I suddenly be more likely to just because I am pregnant? (I do know that the liver/vitamin A situation is different.) I am, however, trying to avoid the blue cheese I bought for dp's birthday which is sitting in the fridge tempting me .

As for the weird dreams, I had lots of horny ones in early pregnancy which never seemed to be at the right time i.e. when dp was in bed with me and no kids in there too and recently I dreamed that the head at our school was expecting a baby too and we were going to do a nanny share . Not sure where that came from at all, as she has adult children and is probably menopausal.

Loving the sunny weather

JODIEhavingababy · 13/02/2008 14:08

What about new thread title

Due July 08 - half way through and dreaming about what we can eat when it's all over?

Food is all consuming at the moment, I too am hungry like never before. I never get full, there is always some room for a litle something else!!!

It must be the babies. Think of them when your craving ANOTHER ice cream. (it's the calcium)

Poledra · 13/02/2008 14:14

Mmm food! Currently consuming Sugar Puffs before bed each evening - DH rekcons I'm going to give birth to the Honey Monster. Idon't even like Sugar Puffs that much when I'm not pregnant, but have always wanted them when pg.

legsy · 13/02/2008 14:16

Yes, definitely seems to be something about food and this stage of the pregnancy. I've just polished off a large jacket potato for lunch and then someone offered me a huge piece of bread and butter pudding. Well, would have been rude not to....

sweetkitty · 13/02/2008 14:16

Glad it's not just me then, every time I am in the fridge I grab a handful of the DDs chocolate buttons (they will give them sugar rushes and rot their teeth anyway better me eating them)

sweetkitty · 13/02/2008 14:18

Crunchy Nut Cornflakes here

JODIEhavingababy · 13/02/2008 14:24
