Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

i dont know about lemsip..try the leaflet as i am sure they have to write about its suitablility for pregnant women.
starlight thats a much quieter line than mine, although i travel off peak, the worst part of my trip is the victoria line at 6.30pm!

All these commutes sound just awful! Clearly, everybody needs to move to Lancashire to keep me company

If you feel uncomfortable about taking Lemsip, Lockets, you could take one tonight and get yourself some honey and a lemon tomorrow. Put it in a mug with some hot water - it's just fabulous when you've got a cold - it smells of getting better and everything! They think I'm insane in my office but my colds rarely last more than a day or two and that's worth a lot when you're asthmatic. A cold going to my chest just isn't funny. What's in Lemsip? Isn't it just paracetamol and some lemony flavour?

I seem to be super allergic to everything - it's not exactly an increased sense of smell, more like a really sensitive nose. The toilet cleaner aisle in Sainsbury's made me feel a bit funny today.

hopefully I had to get a new bra today as well. But used vouchers from Xmas and got it in the sale so no money really wasted if I only wear it for a while.

My dp did not quite understand my need for new bras meglet, but managed to refrain from saying anything. Which is good, as am feeling insanely hormonal today! Nearly cried when I accidentally banged my hand and when my dinosaur boss was a bit mean to me. Am so brave.

Will be sure to write section on non-impact of working from home on my performance starlight. Am quite scared about applying in case they say no and I've told the dinosaur early for nothing, but have to bite the bullet!

good luck from a sept 2007 thread member. I now have a 3 month old DS and can't believe where the past year has gone.
all I can say is that to those of you who get bad MS - it does pass - I promise!

Morning all,

Lockets - Hope you enjoyed the film

Well have been having a dull ache on left hand side since yesterday on and off (not painful but still worrying) so I'm going to the doctors this morning instead of Monday not that they will do anything I'm sure but need some sort of reassurance I've been googling '5 weeks and dull ache' and ectopic keeps coming up so really need to know that this isn't whats happening As you can see neurotic lady is still hanging around

Hope your all well

Good luck at the docs today gracie, I'm sure it will be fine, but good to have your mind set at rest.

I am feeling less ridiculously tearful this morning, and in fact had a completely hyperactive period at about 6:45 when dp thought I had gone mad.

Nearly the weekend. Am determined to work hard today (and perhaps not spend the ENTIRE day on MN) so I can have a relaxing weekend.

Lockets and hopefully - Thanks for your thoughts.

I have been to doctors, she felt my tummy and has booked me in for an early scan on Monday afternoon she said for reassurance really rather than thinking it could be ectopic. Although she did say that if pain becomes severe that I should go to A+E. So roll on Monday I so hope they can see something and its all in the right place!

lockets - your DH sounds so lovely

hopefully - MN is so addictive I can't get off it either, not good news for work though but makes me feel better

Kirstygem what do you teach? I'm a teacher too. Secondary, science. Only working 3 days a week though which is nice.

The stuff about the drugs is interesting, I will look at that website. The reason I decided to take sudafed (apart from being in pain) was that although it said 'don't take when pregnant', the max strength cold and flu tablets (supermarkets version of max strength lemsip) I also had in the house said 'if pregnant seek advice of doctor'. That suggests to me that they are ok to take but they are covering their backs. The phenylsomething hydrochloride (or something like that) quantities were exactly the same in the 2 medicines and then col and flu things had caffeine and paracetemol too.

I've told 1 person at work and am itching to tell a couple more. There's someone else in my dept who is pregnant and she knows my mn name so she might know too!

Thats good that your doc has arranged an early scan Gracie, I can imagine a lot of docs just reasuring you that you're fine and sending you away. Hopefully the scan will go fine.
I'd like an early scan to convince myself that there is somethign in there! It's still not sunk in as I feel no different at all apart from not having a period.

Meglet- I'm in Farnborough and work in Fleet

Hello all!

If I get a BFP, which I am sincerely hoping I do as we have done the right thing on the right days , I will be due on the 28th Sep 08.

I might be back, I might not. If not good luck to you all and have a lovely time being 'with child'.

That sounds like good news Gracie - at least they're making the effort to set your mind at rest etc.

Last night I actually seriously contemplated (for some insane reason) paying for a private scan at 9 weeks. Despite the fact that it would make absolutely no difference whatsoever and not give the baby any greater or lesser chance of survival. I know 2 people who had missed miscarraiges where the baby died and they didn't know until the 12 week scan, and I am terrified of the same thing happening! I'm sure that only happens in a tiny percentage of cases though, so I'm worrying for nothing.

£150 is obscene. Probably I should spend it on something more sensible. Like nappies. Am I the only one who has never changed a nappy before? I have absolutely no idea how to do it!

Am going to tell my sister the news tomorrow, am really nervous. Have told dp's sister, but no one else, and I knew she would be supportive as she has a child. My sis will be thrilled, but am still nervous as she is the first family person I'll be telling!
