Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

hopefully - I can definately see why you want an earlier scan reassurance is a wonderful thing, its so hard not having any control over what happens but sometimes it is just knowing that things are progressing well. I also know a couple of people who have had missed miscarriages (but think that is more to do with my job) but I do think this is rare. (At least I hope it is)

Sometimes all this researching doesn't help, you just hear awful things. I think I might stop googling every ache/pain/twinge and hope for the best

lockets24 · 04/01/2008 14:01

hopefully as i nanny i feel as if i have changed a life times worth of nappies before one of my own babys! But will be fun watching dh learn
we are thinking of telling the rest of our families..trouble is we are both of divorced and re-married parents with 2 siblings each so thats quite a lot of people

meglet · 04/01/2008 14:16

hopefully nappies are the easiest thing in the world after you've done a couple.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 04/01/2008 14:42

Thankas for all your well wishes.
I will not be back on that note.
Congratulations to you all btw.

hopefully · 04/01/2008 16:19

I am also from divorced/remarried parents
lockets, as is dp. There's also a few siblings to be told and one remaining grandparent! It's loads of people to be telling, and we just can't quite make up our minds who to tell before 12 weeks, with the exception of the two sisters.

ps, I am still scared of the nappies

meglet · 04/01/2008 16:31

Is anyone else sweating buckets?!

I had this my first pregnancy. I usually feel the cold, but not at the moment!

DebitheScot · 04/01/2008 16:31

nappies on a newborn are a doddle (apart from the chicken korma coloured goo that goes all the way up their back), just wait till they can stand up and run away in the middle of being cleaned up!

I've just been for a run! Its the first time I've been out for about 4 weeks so just did about half an hour and took it fairly easy. Felt fine running although I was a bit nervous about going. Now I still feel fine but am still having irrational thoughts about things going wrong even though there's no reason it should be a problem.

ALLwillBeRevealed · 04/01/2008 16:32

I am planning to hold out telling anybody until the 12 week scan. We managed it with ds, so will probably manage fine this time too. Still no symptoms here either, keep forgetting that i am pg as still haven't even phoned for a docs appointment yet. This one is suffering from NSC syndrome already compared with all the PFB jumping around and crying on getting a BFP for DS!

OP posts:
Biglips · 04/01/2008 17:14

we have to hold it out from everyone atm inc our parents and siblings as im only 3 weeks and 4 days ish so would liek to hold it out till im -6 weeks like last time (even though i didnt know i was pg till i was 2 weeks late for my AF!!)

Last night i had loads of sick burps but none today which is good. I didnt have this in my first pg. As all i had was completely tiredness and walking around like a boiler...but not sweating as poor meglet.

Gracie - fingers cross for you for your scan x x x

im over my shock now and it starting to settle in! i had to doublecheck my CB digital pg test stick to make sure i wasnt seeing things!!

Biglips · 04/01/2008 17:15

oops! we have decided to hold it out....

Excitable · 04/01/2008 17:38

Gracie I'm taking your doctors decision as good news for you. Surely if they had a reason to be really concerned they would have said, "OMG, get this woman to a hospital NOW!" and there would also have been some blue flashing lights. All the same, it's going to be a long weekend. Stay away from google. If it's helpful, I've had some worrying aches too, which my doctor pretty much dismissed.

I still don't want to tell anyone. Certainly won't be telling anyone at work as there's a job being advertised that I want to apply for so that I don't have to work with the dragon that breathes down my neck every day. Also, it really pisses the dragon off when people announce pregnancies, so I was kinda looking forward to that. As DH says, it would be so much better to go back to work for a department without her in it. Kinda hard to care at the moment, though, so I'm just trying to work up some enthusiasm for it. Everything else seems to pale into insignificance now.

I don't feel very well at all today. Every single smell in town today has made me feel sick. Except the burger van, which normally makes me feel sick!

DH's birthday today and have to look like I don't feel like crap. Not doing very well... Saw some friends in town and still didn't want to tell them. This is really weird, I thought I would have alerted the media by now, but really not ready to share this yet.

Dragonhart · 05/01/2008 21:04

Excitable- Dont think that was my thread, but have to say I am feeling a little 'wobbly' about having three so close. Esp now I feel so sick! Happy bday to DH. It is my dd2's bday today too.

Starlight- You dont have to have an induction at any point. It is your decision and they should offer you tests such as CTGs so that it is an informed decision. Also, my experience for my dating scan both times was totally different. You must have terrible sonographers near you! Both mine have been really exciting, over quickly yes, but lovely to see and hear heart beat and everything was explained, even the second time. Hope it is better this time if you do decide to have one.

Biglips- I am in Warrington to, so quite close!

Hopefully- the midwife showed me how to do it both times! First time as I had never changed a nappy, second time as I had no clue how to clean girls bits! Dont worry though, you will get plenty of practice!

Gracie- Hope all is well xxx

Still feel so sick. Even chicken supernoodles are not working. Had to make a choc cake for DD2's bday today and I was nearly sick!

lockets24 · 05/01/2008 22:00

oh no..people feeling sick already! the only thing that has made me feel sick was dh opening a can of tuna last night..i was really struggling with that
MIL for dinner this evening..now ALL of dh's family know! so we are going to make final calls to family tomorrow then have our jaws wired shut we figure if things go wrong we would want them as support anyway and would tell them anyway.
was in tesco today and bought a packed of jacobs crackers and gingernuts (just incase)
starlight i love the messages from people who were in our situation this time last year! excitable hope you feel a little better tomorrow

take care girls
xx

Starlight- it is interesting what you say about due date though. DH reminded me last night that when I had my scan for DS1 my due date was bought forward by almost two weeks. Then when I was overdue I got all the lectures about induction and decided to agree to it. Had DS the morning I was due to have the induction which I realised later was my original due date from my last period. Oh and did you have ahome birth last time? I have so much admiration for anyone who decides to have a home birth. I am too much of a wuse!

Hi all,

Well not a great weekend for me , ended up at A+E Friday night with cramps on my right side gradually moving across my abdomen. I was admitted with a suspected ectopic pregnancy and cramps had pretty much subsided after 20 minutes. They didn't have anyone that could scan me until midnight (went in at 6pm) and in the end did a hcg reading which was 13250 and he said that with those levels should see something on the scan. Had an internal scan and found a gestational sac (although couldn't see anything in it) but thought it could be too early as was only 5+4 days.

Anyway am at home now and still have dull ache occassionally on right side. They haven't ruled out ectopic as they said a twin could be caught in the tube. So at the moment I am absolutley petrified that something could be wrong. Still having scan tomorrow so have to wait and see whether anything can be seen.

Sorry just feeling very emotional at the moment
