Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

Symptom wise just bit tired and eating even more chocolate than normal - more of an excuse than a symptom really
Going back to work tomorrow and know will be real struggle not to tel people I close to.

There's nothing like pregnancy for worrying. My first pregnancy was trouble free right up until my waters break and then it was dreadful. I won't go in to details but I am now feeling really worried that this will happen again. I'm really keen on not having a c-section again but I feel that I'll have to make sure that they rule out that I have the same condition again or I just won't be able to relax and trust my body =/

Is anyone else grappling with worries because of how previous pregnancies were?

Report
lockets24 · 02/01/2008 17:49

sassafrass this is my first so i am just in the situation of worrying about EVERYTHING as i have nothing to compare it but try to relax and stay positive

So i went to see the Dr this evening, i had my reservations cause i did not like him last time..he was not so bad this time anyhow, he asked a bit about me and dh, drinking, smoking, past medical history then weighed, measured and blood pressured me and told me that the midwife would be in touch around 10 weeks and then i would be booked in for my scan left the surgery floating on a bubble
ooh and i was desperate for wee so saved it up and i didn't have to give a sample so was busting by the time i got outta there

kirstgem good luck back at work tomorrow!

xx

My doc was very nice to me. He basically just congratulated me, asked if I was in good health and told me to come back in 2 weeks so he could refer me to the midwife. So I win on the number of useless doctor's appointments that will have to be endured before I see mw! Will be something like 7 weeks when I go back the second time, so will probably still be a couple of weeks after that before I get to see the mw. Can I please go to sleep and wake up at 12 week scan?

Sassafrass · 02/01/2008 18:06

Lockets24, I'm glad you got on better with your doctor this time. I found last time around that I saw a lot more of the midwife than my gp. At the start it seemed like lots of appointments but as you get going it feels like endless time in between seeing someone. The 12 week scan is definately exciting, but you get the same full bladder problem. I was so bursting to have a wee because the letter said to have a full bladder for the scan, I could hardly think of anything other than getting to go to the toilet afterwards =)

We told our parents yesterday and dhs sister. They were quite excited (well my mum wasn't especially excited, she said she knew what i was going to say) and complained that September is a long way off! My best friend also knows, she knew within about 5 seconds of the line showing up on the stick!

Back to work tomorrow , will be interesting to see if I feel more tired than usual after a day working.

Decided it was silly of me not to put where I am from on the list as it's on my profile page. Doh! Have also added my age but again, I understand if people don't want to divulge that!

Meglet are you from anywhere near me?

Looks like we're spread far and wide. That's going to make meet ups a bit tricky, isn't it?

I've put my age on too, but completely agree that there should be no pressure.

Sorry you were all busting at the doctors, it seems everyone has a different experience with the doctors. Everyone else should be prepared to be asked to perform cartwheels and made to cry as these experiences are still up for grabs!

Evening all, glad doctors appointments have gone well

Well after first day at work fell asleep on the sofa when I got in and only woke to the dog licking my face (lovely!!) So its definately taken it out of me. I've had a few twinges on one side on and off and trying to convince myself its nothing to worry about. And waking up at 12 weeks would be lovely right now, my DP has said today he wants his girlfriend back as I have turned into a neurotic nutcase!!

Is it ok if I join too? I think I am due beg of Sept or very end of Aug (depends which website I do the dates calculation).

I have a nearly 2.5yo DS and a DD who's first birthday is on saturday so things will be fun in our house in 9 months! Happy about it apart from dreading all the smark alec remarks about how close they are.

The dreaded all day nausea has started for me. I havent been sick yet but all I can eat is chicken super noodles and salt and vinegar crisps!

welcome Dragonhart.

I have not been to drs yet... i know last time i called as soon as i was pregnant, and they did nothing until 10 weeks so have not bothered yet this time.. its strange how different they all all.

Still no sickness here so fingers crossed it will stay clear a while!

Lockets24, is the cramping a bit like period pains? I got that both this pregnancy and my first, for the first couple of weeks of the pregnancy. It's kind of like growing pains as the uterus grows.

Sassafras, I know what you mean about worrying because of previous pregnancies. I won't go into detail either because it might identify me as I've talked about it on MN before, but there are aspects of my previous pregnancy which will still be current with this one. It hasn't really sunk in yet because I still have no symptoms and visitors staying so not a lot of time to think and worry about it.

Feel like I am moving through treacle. No other symptoms except that. Really really want to invent an illness and go home, but am running on a deadline and no one else can do it. I am actually going to fall asleep at my desk. 90 minute commute both ways doesn't improve feelings of exhuastion.
