Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

Mawbroon - let us all know when you hear something, I keep wondering how you are doing!

I went to the Drs this morning, things seem very different here in France to how I remember them the first time around in the UK! Sorry to upset the list, but it seems I mis-calculated & am actually due on 01 or 02 September after all, but won't know until the 12 week scan for sure. The Dr here doesn't do ANY urine/blood tests etc, a nurse is coming to the house first thing Monday morning to do all that (!)

Excitable · 12/01/2008 20:14

How exciting Jenpet a home visit already! That sounds very civilised to me. I want somebody to come and see me - no fair!

Let us know about how the advice for pregnant ladies differs over there. I've being dying to know if they tell French pg ladies not to eat Roquefort and Brie...

SazzaK · 12/01/2008 20:35

Good luck Mawbroon - fingers crossed for your scan at EPU tomorrow. Thinking of you... and Excitable, hope you are holding up ok and getting plenty of rest.
No new BFPs today, there must be some more Xmas holiday activity due to generate some more joiners to the board anyday! Roll up!

BabyFever · 12/01/2008 20:43

I got a bfp today!!!

Hello!

jenpet · 12/01/2008 20:52

Hi Excitable - hope the ms is not too bad for you - when I had DS I suffered with it & chewed those natural liqourice sticks, they're not nice, but did help....I asked the Dr about do's & dont's this am & she said don't stress too much about anything as that is worse for the baby in the long run (?)then I dropped my bombshell that we were booked to go skiing for the 1st time in Feb (expecting a grave shake of the head) "oh, you'll be fine" she said, "don't go too high" (no oxygen) "or too fast" she advised. I was slightly stunned & think I will spend most of the week chalet-cleaning! It's all quite an experience....

Excitable · 12/01/2008 21:03

Babyfever congratulations - I think I remember you from my ttc thread?

I must say I was expecting to be wrapped in cotton wool much more than this. I expected to say I'm pregnant (not that I have, officially speaking!) and people would leap into action getting me a chair and nice things to eat that won't make me feel sick and taking my work from me and saying "Don't worry about this - we'll do all that..." and it hasn't happened - bloomin' cheek.

In some tribes in native America, women were sent to a hut to have their periods and I always thought that sounded kinda nice. Husbands and children would have to fend for themselves for a while, and in the meantime you sit in a nice comfy hut, which I imagine to have lots of cushions and chintzy girlie prints, and you having a kind of Steel Magnolias experience. I must ask my friend who's studied native Americans what they did for pregnant women - it must have been fabulous...

BabyFever · 12/01/2008 21:15

Yep - i'm a ttc graduate.

Its not sunk in yet.

Haven't stopped all day...

Excitable · 13/01/2008 10:18

Mawbroon any news? What did the doctors say? Are you okay?

MimisMama · 13/01/2008 10:41

Just wondered - when are any of you planning to tell your DC?

Would it be mad to tell our DD (5) just before the first scan and bring her along?

Dragonhart · 13/01/2008 11:04

Mawbroon. Hope they saw you last night and you are well. Thinking of you xxx

Mimismama- We told ds1 after the first scan and then took him to the second. He was only tiny though so didnt have a clue what was going on. Wont tell him til after first again this time as I am sure he would blurt it out at an embarrasing moment! Maybe if you told her night before scan? Unless she can keep a secret

Excitable- You have my total sypathies. I feel like utter shit and I am so fed up with it. The worst times are morning, and late afternoon/evening. So basically the only time I feel slightly human is after lunch. I have to eat otherwise I feel even worse but after I have eaten I feel awful for a while and get really bad stomach cramps. I just feel like crying all day and I am so miserable about it. I keep telling myself it will all be worth it but another 5 weeks+ of this seems like an eternity.

Dragonhart · 13/01/2008 11:05

Oh and welcome to all the newbies!

Excitable · 13/01/2008 11:19

Thanks Dragonheart it's so good to hear I'm not alone. Food is really important to me - I was anorexic when I was a teenager, I'm a vegetarian now and I love cooking and I hate not being able to eat all the things I love to cook. DH has made Jerusalem Artichoke soup which is the colour of butter. Normally, I really like it. We eat seasonally and there weren't any Jerusalem artichokes around last year and now just looking at this soup I've waited two years for makes me want to barf!! This is so unfair. Any thoughts of seasonal responsible eating have to go out the window and I have to just suck it up and eat my vegeburgers and my mushy peas.

Going with the cravings is beginning to help a little, but I'm so useless at work it's unbelievable. How on earth can I concentrate with all this going on?

digitalgirl · 13/01/2008 11:21

Excitable...Hopefully...Starlight...Biglips...Meglet...room for another ttc graduate?

Will be making quite a slow transition as it's all a bit too early...I'm only 10dpo FGS

mawbroon · 13/01/2008 11:30

I'm bowing out ladies. No sign of any pregnancy on the ultrasound. This is what I expected, so I'm pretty much ok about it.

NO SAD FACES PLEASE

I wish you all the very best for healthy pregnancies and lovely babies come September.

Take care all.

Dragonhart · 13/01/2008 11:36

Excitable- When I was preg with ds1, I was off work for weeks for my MS. I felt really pathetic and it ment I had to tell them all before I wanted to but I was driving 2.5 hours a day then a 9 hour day and I just couldnt take it. I went to the doctor and a sick note. Even when I went back at 16 weeks I was feeling like a zombie all day. Luckly with dd2 I figured out the eating thing and it stopped alot quicker.

Listening to you describe your normal eating habbits makes me feel quite . In my head I am the type of mum who cooks evreything from scratch for my dcs but in reality it is whatever takes 10mins to cook for tea and sandwiches for lunch!

Dragonhart · 13/01/2008 11:38

Mawbroon- So sorry. Wishing you a bfp as soon as you are ready. xxx

workstostaysane · 13/01/2008 11:49

Hi Mawbroon,
really sorry to hear your news. hope you can have a few of days r and r and that we'll see you with another BFP soon.
Thinking of you.

biglips · 13/01/2008 12:02

hiya Mawbroon - so sorry to hear!.....

DigitalGirl - welcome ....i got my BFP on 10dpo and i would never thought i would be pg... but here i am!

MimisMama · 13/01/2008 12:12

Hi Dragonhart - thanks for the telling DC advice. I'm pretty sure she'd be able to keep a secret but I think its more about me being superstitious in case there's any bad news at the scan...

I'll see what the midwife says when I see her in a week or so.

LuLu15 · 13/01/2008 12:12

Hi Everyone. I found out I was pregnant last Sunday and did a test for the dr on Tuesday which was also positive so it's real but doesn't feel real if you know what I mean. This is my 2nd child and we were trying for 9 months so v pleased atm. My boobs ache like hell and I was sick all last Sunday - I think it was my body's way of saying you're pregnant don't expect af today! Anyway think I'm due on 13th September.

biglips · 13/01/2008 12:13

i will be telling my DD after my first scan as she is now 3.3yrs old and unsure if she will come along with me to the scan as she cannot sits still!!

MimisMama · 13/01/2008 12:15

To anyone who's suffering from MS - I'm with all of you! I was nauseous but not actually feeling as if I was going to be sick, but that's changed in the last few days and I keep having to rush off.

I suppose they say its a sign your hormones are buzzing around and after Mawbroon's experience we shouldn't mind...

mumiyumi · 13/01/2008 13:32

Hello all can i join in

I got a positive on wed, think only about 5 wks. This will be my 4th preg, (2 m/c) d/s 2yrs now, so fingers crossed this one stays put! Gonna be a long few wks till see midwife. Should get it confirmed by the doc nxt wk.

Gracie14 · 13/01/2008 15:17
