Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

hopefully i wouldnt worry about having no symptons, i had none with ds and none with dd until i was about six months and then i had terrible heartburn

Dragonhart · 10/01/2008 12:14

I agree Starlight RE the waiting to buy things. I have so much stuff I bearly used. Also you have to think about what you will use it for. Some one who only really pushes buggy round pathements, shops and in and out of the car needs a totally different one to someone who doesnt have a car or walks a lot.

I have a ridiculously expensive Bebe Confort double buggy but I love it as it has now changed to a single with a built in buggy board. But I am tall and find the really tall handle sooo comfortable to walk with. Also we only have one car so I often have to walk them where I need to go. There are so many things to think of it always puts my head in a spin!

I used things like the sling way more with dd2 as she is a lot lighter than ds1.

Dragonhart · 10/01/2008 12:19

Oh and if you do decide to get a buggy, the ones where the seats go forward or rear facing are the best IMO. I didnt have it for ds1 and loved having them both facing me this time.

DebitheScot · 10/01/2008 12:22

mawbroon I'm from Dundee originally. May parents and best friend are still there so go up quite a bit.

I couldn't say I'd start back on say 1st August as I would then have to go back in Sept. I have to give half a terms notice when resigning (and am only meant to leave at easter, christmas or summer) so starting in July/Aug would mean I couldn't leave until Christmas.

meglet · 10/01/2008 13:09

hello everyone!

hello debthescot, is the weather as bad there as it is here in amazingstoke? Glad me and DS got out this morning before it got really grim.

hopefully don't worry about worrying. I was hopeless first time, too scared to drive, scared to have a poo (might squeeze the baby out ), scared to sneeze. I was quite mad. Even though I mc in November last year I'm still feeling more robust than I did in my first pregnancy.

All seems well with me, little nauseous but nothing too bad yet.

hopefully · 10/01/2008 13:16

I am feeling a little less alarmed today. I did get unfeasibly excited when I felt a few more stretchy type pains low down in my abdomen this morning though

I am so going to struggle to restrain from shopping when I'm a bit further along. I'm such a shopaholic. Am hoping for lots of freebies from family who've stopped having children though!

Gracie14 · 10/01/2008 14:12

Well, thought I would try and speak to the midwife this afternoon to get an appointment over the next few weeks. Well receptionist won't let me speak to her and said I had to have the pregnancy confirmed by doctor first!

Explained had already seen doctor and had an early scan - (the doctor on Friday said if all was okay with the scan to book in with the midwife) but the receptionist won't budge and said I have to see the doctor first So now I have to go to the doctor to confirm that I am pregnant even though I have had a scan and the doctor has already said that I am. Why is this all so complicated???? Sorry just needed a rant!!!

Excitable · 10/01/2008 14:25

Doctors are stupid. This shall be our motto, Gracie - what on earth makes them think they know more about our bodies than we do? And what gives them the right to turn our care into an administritative procedure? YEAH.

Oh God I feel like shit. I feel nauseous, but I don't want to eat and I'm achy and I have no brain and I just need to sleep - and now my nose is creating it's own funny smells and it's making me more nauseous. I'm considering going home early, but need to think of an excuse.

DebitheScot · 10/01/2008 14:28

that is so stupid. Doctors are always so busy and surely the receptionists know that. Its really bugging when a system is in place and people just refuse to budge from that system even though there are lots of good reasons why it makes sense to.
Oh and the receptionists also sometimes seem to assume that you sit at home all day or can drop anything to go to an appointment. I remember the last time I was pregnant and trying to make midwife appointments and they would try to give me an early aft time and I'd say that I couldn't go then coz I work and they'd say 'oh can't you take time off?' If only it was that easy.

meglet- yes it is pretty stormy here too, the kids are moaning that they'll et wet walking home.

hopefully · 10/01/2008 15:02

I thought I was the only one who had to go through excessive amounts of pointless doctor's appointments!

When I first phoned my doctor's they re the pregnancy they tried to give me an appointment that very afternoon. Apparently the concept of people who work while trying to get pregnant was a bit new to them.

I have decided, in the absence of decent symptoms, that the need to eat every salty thing in sight will do. Since I normally have an incredibly sweet tooth, this is extremely odd. I'll settle for that as a symptom!

still no MS. can anyone direct me to the thread that talked about MS and bf? can't seem to find it.
end of a long day. dd sitting in a green bath and i'm on the laptop. when things get too much i wonder what on earth i'm doing, but in reality i can't wait to have 2.

Hello everyone and congratulations to you all. May I add myself to your list please?? Found out today, rather shocked to say the least, but happy. I think. Dr's tomorrow, this is me ; age 36, live in Brittany France, DS age 6, EDD around 10th September I think....

Dragonhart · 10/01/2008 20:00

Hi there Jenpet! Have you always lived in Brittany or have you moved there recently?

Workstostay- I cant believe you get a prescription for folic acid! We have to buy ours. Horrible nasty stuff, I am sure it is that which gives me all day sickness! I even take them just before I go to bed but still doesnt help.

Starlight- PMSL at your nuts saga! Cant believe they wouldnt let you do it. What a load of rubbish.

Gracie- I would complain about her! What a fool. I have to say that I am hopeless when it comes to confrontation and tend to burst into tears (pathetic I know!) but it does help when it comes to people like doctors receptionists Suddenly they are so much more helpful and oh, I think there is an appt...

My sympathies are with you Excitable! My days with ds and dd are a trudge atm. I have not been taking them out for a walk as I get really dizzy so we have just been going out in the garden, but dd2 isnt walking yet so it is a pain and today it was like a lake so couldnt go out. Luckly ds1 has developed a love of jigsaws and dd2 just loves crawling about getting things she shouldnt so I have not had the tv on tooooo much.

Does it sound ridiculous that I have heart burn already?! I never get it except in late pregnancy but it has been quite bad the last few days.

MimisMama · 10/01/2008 20:04

Can I join too?! My EDD is 1st Sept and I have a DD who was five at Christmas.

Symptoms - feeling bleurgh a lot of the time, sore boobs, tired... Joy!

I keep wanting to blurt out to people at work - I'M PREGNANT and having to restrain myself .

MimisMama · 10/01/2008 20:28

I've just read back through the past posts - was pleased to read that others are off sex too!

I feel really guilty, as though now my DH's got me pg I'm not interested in him any more!

But, my boobs are really sensitive (and not in a good way! ) and I feel sick, particularly when kissing... Hopefully it will get better and I'll be feeling sexy soon, as all the magazines say I should be!

SazzaK · 10/01/2008 22:39

Hi all, got an early BFP today, my EDD will be 22 September (a New Year's Eve baby ) so long as it sticks! I live in west London and have one daughter of 20 months.

workstostaysane · 10/01/2008 22:56

yup, down here in south london they prescribe folic acid.
didn't realize that wasn't commonplace.

hi saazzak. my dd is 17 months and not walking yet. life will be easier methinks when i don't have to lug her about all over the place.

hopefully · 11/01/2008 09:20

Hi and congratulations to SazzaK, MimisMama and jenpet. Was hoping for another cluster of bfps soon! I've pasted the current list below, if you want to copy and paste it and add yourselves, that would be great.

Actually had an entirely panic free day yesterday. My normalness was made slightly better by having sore boobs again. It is so nice to have symptoms.

Oh, and I have a bone to pick with someone on MN! Was it someone on this thread who said they craved olives and coke in their last pregnancy? I read that post at some point and it was ALL I could think about yesterday. I had to get dp to stop on the way home and get coke. I proceeded to eat half a pot of olives and 2 glasses of coke last night. I blame you entirely, whoever you are!

mustsleep · 11/01/2008 09:33
