Can't quite believe it. Got a very very faint BFP today. Been ttc no2 for ages now.

Don't want to say too much until I have told RL but reckon I am due around about 8th Sept or so.

Morning all,

Well the doctor ended up being lovely and gave me a prescription excempt form so I shouldn't complain really, although these receptionists really get on my nerves
Anyway midwife phoned 10 minutes after I left the surgery and she wants to see me at about 10 weeks on 8th Feb and then my scan is booked for 22nd Feb (feels like ages away ) its going to be a long 6 weeks.

Congrats to newbies -

Mimismama - We had been trying for 15 months for a baby before this BFP and I wanted sex all the time and now I don't so I feel exactly the same - DP understands at the moment but think he thinks a baby is all I wanted him for!

hopefully - Glad your feeling abit better

I don't know where the name morning sickness comes from what a load of rubbish 'all day and night' sickness I think is more like it

mawbroon · 11/01/2008 10:22

Oh fuck. Started bleeding today. Was brown and stringy like just before my period and now it's fresh and red, just like a period. No cramps or anything, but I am not very hopeful at all. Doc called the EPU who have said that if it gets worse then I should call them direct.

I have a bi-cornuate (heart shaped) uterus, so if the egg implants on to the septum, it will not be sustained as there's not enough blood flow there. I had no idea about this abnormality when I was expecting ds, and this time round it will bug me until the baby is here - whether it be this one or a future one.

I did another test this morning, and it was a very faint positive. I would have expected that by this stage a positive would be screaming out from the test.

Ho hum, time will tell. DS is being very whingey today which is not like him at all, so keeping him amused will at least keep my mind off things.

No sad faces please btw.

Mawbroon, hope it's all ok. Thinking positive thoughts for you.

I want to get scans and things booked in. Even thought it will be a REALLY long way away. DP and I have definitely decided to book an early private scan (thinking of babypremier off Harley st. Not too hideous for London at £95 - eek! - and heard good reports of it), so at least that will be in 3 weeks or something. Need to phone and book it today actually. Just decided that since I'm going to apply for working from home, I want to know that at least it's all ok at the point I apply, even if that doesn't guarantee it will be ok in the future.

My gut is so confused. I go from things really not doing anything to doing far too much with virtually no warning at all! I am again choosing to believe that this is a symptom.

kirstygem · 11/01/2008 12:29

Everything crossed for you Mawbroon.

meglet · 11/01/2008 13:18

mawbroon hope everything settles down for you and it will be ok.

hopefully it was me who was scoffing olives and guzzling coke. Mind you I don't eat the olives on their own, have to have bruschetta bits with them, mozarella, peppers etc.

workstostaysane · 11/01/2008 13:50

oh bugger mawbroon. hang in there and take care of yourself.
my prayers are with you.

In that case Meglet, you have ruined me! I am going to get enormous on coke and olives (garlic marinated, dont'cha know)! I'll send dp round to have words with you. mind you, he is possibly the least scary person ever to have walked this earth, so that may not be very alarming.

ooh, just told my very pregnant work friend. She had already guessed! Whgat is it about being pregnant that makes you able to sense it in other people! Mind you, she was the ONLY person who knew we were thinking of ttc, so she may just have assumed on the basis of no evidence.

Still haven't told the parents. Am I alone on this?

nervousal · 11/01/2008 14:00

I'm new to the Board - been lurking for a few days. Anyway - I think I'm due around 1st September, who on earth can remember their last period?? I had a mc in June so am about to go for an early scan (in one nad a half hours). The big question.... I need a wee, if I have one will my bladder be "comfortably full??"

edd 14 sept age 36 ds 20 months

can't believe it's all happened so quick, only started a ttc thread a couple of months ago.

nervousal i had a couple of miscarriages before 1st child and remember those painful hours sitting on a hard chair with a bladder that was very definitely uncomfortably full ! think you'll have time in one and a half hours to fill it up again !

good luck

oh - and should have said, I've got a 4 yr old daughter and am 33.

nervousal · 11/01/2008 14:09

lol - had to go for one - would have been too emabarsassing to wet myself in work!! Anyone else here having a scan this early? I'm absolutely terrified that they won't find a heartbeat, even though I know its still early.

mawbroon · 11/01/2008 14:10

Thanks for all your kind words. Not much more bleeding starlight. I am using a pad, but nothing is going on it, there is only blood when I wipe IYSWIM. What will be will be and there's nothing I can do about it, so no point in getting upset. And who knows, this wee one might be thriving in there

mawbroon - positive thoughts coming your way

nervousal - I had a scan on Monday at 5+6 went with a full bladder and they couldn't see anything so had to empty bladder to have internal which you may have to have. I did see a heartbeat but they were surprised that they did as it was so early, but try not to worry if you don't, I've heard it can be 7 weeks plus before they do. Good luck hun

Welcome to newbies - wow there are loads going on at the moment - looks like christmas and new year we were all busy busy

hopefully · 11/01/2008 15:05

Now, I don't want anyone to think I am (a) anal and (b) have nothing to do in work all day, but I have arranged the list again. I think we've all established I need to get out more, but hopefully this should make it easier for people to read/add to
