Naetha, i hate bump itch too! I only have it where I am making new stretchmarks (some interesting art work around my belly button. Cream helps a bit but not much and I hate smearing stuff on me anyway. Oh well, moan moan .

Hi girlies!!

Sorry not been on but had a bit of a busy day yesterday and have been in bed all day today.
Yesterday we went to DP's family's houses. Was ok but his devil nephews were driving me insane. Along with the devil dogs.. lol. Left at 1pm and didn't get back till 9pm!! was knackered.

New Year - We went to bed at 9pm and the fireworks woke me and cats and LO up at 11:30pm so I saw the new year in with the cats and LO. Tried to wake DP up (he'd been up since 9pm, day before, over 24hrs) and all I got was "yeh ok" before snoring at me! lol Ahh well never mind.

LO update - I don't believe this MW. I can feel movements right down in my pelvis and when I try to press I can feel body all the way into my pelvis (i'm sure of it) TMI Have been having a bit of extra greeny discharge over the past couple of days and after sitting on my ball (each day) I'm getting a few tightenings so maybe it's starting now. [fingers crossed smiley]

I really want a curry - how wierd am I?

Naetha - Managed to stop her, I've cleaned everything like a mad woman and stopped bleaching the litter box (we've got none smelly bleachy type stuff) and she's not peeing anywhere but the box. We do however, have to clean the box out EVERYDAY or she'll sniff for other places to pee.

Hope your all ok, LO is due in 2 days

LuckySalem · 01/01/2008 18:47

Oh yeh,
Hiya Martha and Dotsie
Happy new year all

Naetha - Itchy bump, I've had to stop myself from itching it as i've itched it raw literally, I have placed where my nails have caused bleeding so everytime it itches, I have to sit on my hands... lol

gingeme · 01/01/2008 18:57

Definately mum2sam I feel constantly knackered and realy dont think I would have the energy for labour. Trust me though youll be surprised when the adrenalin kicks in. Youll amaze yourself
Im getting night sweats too. Often get up and turn the heater down in our bedroom only to wake up a bit later feeling rather cold.
Dh thought baby was o its way this morning as I woke up with mega cramp in my right calf. I was rolling about in agony and rubbing and flexing like mad. Stood up and hobbled around the room for a bit and it passed.
12 days to go here too. Been getting lots of discharge the past few days. Quite pinky and yuk! Getting lots of period type pains too so something is definately happening. Oooh int it exciting?

makingnosense · 01/01/2008 19:00

swollen ankles are now my latest pregnancy whinge! Last couple of days gone to bed and they are puffed up, but go down by morning. I so want my old body back!

ayrshirelolo · 01/01/2008 20:02

Happy New Year!!!!!
Yup, the constantly knackered feeling is wearing a bit thin, isn't it? I was just in the mood for a good kip last night (especially after 2 glasses of nice cold sparkling Aussie white) but the fireworks at 12 woke up dd, who then proceeded to winge on and off until about 3... even with Medised at 1.30!! Gggggggrrrrrr!
Anyway had nice but tiring day today, with my mum and sister and niece(7) and nephew(4)here for lunch. It was lovely but when they all went home at 6 i was quite pleased! Dh was lovely though, and insisted on doing all the clearing up, what a star! Dd in bed sleeping for now... keep your fingers crossed for a quiet night please, ladies... couldn't handle another like last night so soon! At least i'm not still at work, don't know how you're managing Barristermum, Nicky6, Fluffy and anyone else still doing it! I have another family do tomorrow (we do like our New Year parties up here!) so will no doubt get all the "my God, you're HUGE! Are you going to have the baby NOW??" comments from relatives i haven't seen for 6 months.... Oh joy!
Talking of itchy bumps...... i find having yet another shower with Dove or similar moisturising shower gel helps a wee bit, and some Aloe Vera gel or cream afterwards helps for a wee while!
Anyway, didn't mean this to turn into such a mega post.... take care all, lolo xx

Martha200 · 01/01/2008 21:40

Thanks for your welcomes

Madmouse - This is my 2nd pregnancy, have a 4 and a half year old son, who seems excited about a new addition (once we assured him the baby wont be pinching all his toys

Woke this morning with flu like symptoms and a hacking cough.. think it was mid Nov I have not had some kind of cold going on, so just as I thought I was improving
Yes, feeling a bit sorry for myself what with these ankles that recently have puffed up too!

At the end of the day all I want is for all the family to be well for when I go into hospital (yes, having a section due to big headed traits.. my son was an ES in the end because of his head, and a recent growth scan clearly showed a repeat big head.)

Take care everyone.

nicky6 · 01/01/2008 22:41

Dear all

sorry to have been rubbish and not posted for a bit but life has been manic and i have been rushing around like a braxton hicks induced idiot.

The case did not finish in time and my leader is abroad in fact at one point it looked like i was going to be making the speech however we did get that far.

Actually am back to work tomorrow after much negotiating with dh who had been throwing a minor fit before christmas - am also quite huge now.

Anyway am back to work for this week and am then being forced by dh to finish work although my jury is likely to still be out but my leader will be back from hols.

As for christmas dh's family were in uk from abroad so we spent much time travelling between my folks down in kent and his family and then having part of his family over to stay and going to ikea and starting to do something for the arrival of the bun bin (afer the bunyip monsterin roald dahl).

Baby is now head down hoorah and apparently according to midwife is rather on the large size has long legs and hairy - sounds like i am having a spider

congratulations to all those with happy healthy little ones - so exciting for everyone - and everyone is early so far

Anyway feel weird about giving up work but given that we are totally unprepared for new arrival i hope it hangs in there for a good while longer - am not due til 28th so plenty of time yet.

The bun bin has not read the books i fear about movements decreasing with size as it seems to wriggle all the time as it has all the way through - think i will miss that.

Anyway lots of luck and good vibes for all and will try to be better particularly once no more work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mum2sons · 01/01/2008 22:53

Nightsweats here as well. I have to change one v sexy fat girl nighty for another everynight! It is cold sweats too..yuk...
Lots of braxton hicks and v uncomfortable but sooo not ready yet (in my head!) DS2 (aged 3) is a total nightmare at the moment (in the sweetest ways but still). He is totally manic, wont go to bed, is sleeping horizontally in our bed, finding chocolate liqueurs and eating them, trying to kill the dog etc etc. DS1 who is 12 going on 40 thinks we should adopt supernanny approaches and is v patronising about mine and DHs parenting skills (or lack of!) Should make for an interesting homebirth...

lilyloo · 02/01/2008 08:13

Morning all well not sure what happening here!
Went to bed last night and was woken with contractions at about midnight and then started being sick!
This lasted until about 2.00 when i managed to fall back to sleep. I then woke again about 3.00 and was sick again and needed to use the toilet but then the contractions wore off again and am now sat here very tired although managed to have another hour os so sleep this am!
This was how things started with dd and i am sick when in labour but then the contractions continued getting steadily worse so not use to this.
Will keep you all posted and will have to decide whether dp should go to work or not

angelcake99 · 02/01/2008 09:37

Good luck lilyloo does sound very promising, although you must be exhausted! Hang in there

I know I don't come on very often but just thought I'd pop in and and say Congratulations to all of those who have had their babies already.. and good luck to those on their way!! I am in hopsital tonight to begin my induction(have gestational diabetes) so mixture of nervousness and excitement! Will let you know how it goes, although it could be a fare while as with Ds it took ages to get labour started and then I was in for a few days afterwards.

Good luck everyone xx

pussycatmomma · 02/01/2008 10:19

hi all - just caught up on thread - you chatty lot!
happy new year to everyone!!!
This is THE month and THE year we will all have our babies!!!!!! I still cant get my head round it!! Just spoke to my mum and told her by next thursday (10th) we will be officially "in the 2 week window" as they called it at parentcraft!! We have laughed over it many times, and for ages ive been reminding her about "the window" for giving birthe - 2 week either side of due date- Think she about died this morning when i told her we were officially 8 days from "the window"
Sorry i think my preg hormones and complete lack of sleep are kicking in! I dont know how i am managing to do what i do on the amount of sleep i am currently getting. I find it suprememly scary to think i will actually HAVE A BABY very soon. I know i have had a long time to get used to the idea but i cant believe it is soooo close now.
Anyone else scared??? not just about the birth and the whole hospital thing - but about becoming a parent? Actually BEING A MUM? FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE??????? sorry dont want to shout but just needed to emphasise the point!
Regarding trials and tribulations - for me the worst is not sleeping, back pain, not being able to get comfortable when lying down, and pain around my pelvis/fanjo area. Indeed to echo someones post, i do indeed feel as if i have been kicked in a certain area...
ooooh glamourous this pregancy lark isnt it!
love, love, love to all xxxxxxxxxxx
ps did i mention we are HAVING BABIES THIS MONTH??? !!! ! xxx

gingeme · 02/01/2008 11:12

Morning ladies.
Good luck lillyloo. Please keep us posted. All sounds goos sort of.
Ha ha pussycatmomma I take it your a bit excited then me too and a bit sad too as this is my last one.
Had my midwife appointment this morning. Everthing ok except for a bit of protien in my urine. She said if I get any visual disturbance or unexplained swelling in my hands or face to go to hospital for monitoring as could be signs of pre eclampsia. Babys back to back at the moment too but she wasnt too worried about it as hes such a wriggly thing anyway hell turn back soon enough.
angelcake99 good luck with the induction. Realy hope its not too long before your little bundle is safely in your arms
My parents are coming to stay this weekend and hopefuly through the week a bit too so I can stop worrying about if baby comes in the early hours I have to wake my neighbour to come and look after my two boys.
Wow what a long post that was. Phew!!

sabinar · 02/01/2008 11:34

morning all. don't tell anyone - yet - but I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm getting some contraction action combined with water leakage... am remaining calm whilst caning DH to do the final few chores on his list and wondering whether or not I should attach the TENS yet. Have called the midwife who seems to think that it all sounds like the real thing... she's calling back in around an hour or so. Yikes. Will keep you posted.

madmouse · 02/01/2008 11:41

Sabinar - way to go! Hope this is it for you. It probably is, the nesting gives it away! . DH flinched when I read to him about your DH being caned into doing chores - he asked if the reluctance is universal .

Here's to a smooth and straightforward labour!

Ginge, protein in urine is a worry thing. i had it at 25 weeks when I freaked out thinking about premature babies. It never came back! By now I am philosophical, if he has to come out now he will be fine, it will just not be the home birth I planned.

Talking of which, mw rang this morning, she is coming for my home birth visit this afternoon! Yay.

Angelcake, here's to a smooth induction, sort of pessary only, break waters and go. Keep us posted x

madmouse · 02/01/2008 11:43

Oh Lilyloo you too girl, hope it is all action for you soon!

gingeme · 02/01/2008 12:00

Ooh sabiner sounds real good. Stay relaxed thats so the best thing you can do for you and baby. Keep us posted as much as you can. Ooh ooh so exciting

Fragolina · 02/01/2008 12:23

Good luck Sabinar and lilyloo! Sounds like something is definitely happening for you both.

My due date is on Friday, and I'm just getting sooo excited about meeting this baby. Had my first labour dream last night, and dreamt that it all went so smoothly and quickly that I didn't even realise I was in labour until the baby was put in my arms ...and it was a girl with the cutest wrinkly little feet. Woke up with a big smile on my face, and have been so sappy all morning.

For everyone getting fed up of being pregnant, just remember there's less than a month to go now . Wonder how long it will take for my body to go back to being 'mine' again .

Naetha · 02/01/2008 12:51

Ooh sounds very exciting for Sabinar and Lilyloo! You can't believe how jealous I am!

Feeling quite "down" today - the surgery called me this morning to tell me that one of the midwives is off sick today so I can't have my appointment - the next one I can get isn't for a week, by which point I'll be 41+2! I find this a little worrying when my last AN appointment was on Christmas eve (when I was 39+1), so will have been over a two week gap between appointments. Especially frustrating when the MW suggested that things could be got going sooner rather than later because the baby is so big.

Still getting regular BH and backache - had them solidly now for the last 4 days with no let up at all. They're about every 5-10 minutes, and I never get a break of more than half an hour or so. I sleep through most of them at night, but still get up loads - last night was my record with 6 loo visits between 11pm and 6am. What I don't understand is that I will have a smallish drink before bed, pee loads in the night, sweat loads in the night, and when I wake up in the morning my fingers and ankles are even puffier than they were when I went to bed - where does all the fluid come from?!?!?

Anyway, to console myself a little I've booked myself a reflexology session tomorrow lunchtime. If it doesn't get labour going, then at least it will be a great way of chilling me out and relaxing

Glad to see people are so excited about their babies - I can't wait to meet mine!

sabinar · 02/01/2008 13:11

TENS machine attached... I rate it. Glad we decided to fork out for the deluxe edition
Am finding it an excellent distraction.

mixedmama · 02/01/2008 13:27

Hola ladies....

So good to be on the PC. Congrats to those of you whose LOs have arrived. I am two days late now and still waiting.... seeing MW this afternoon so will see what happens.

For those of you worrying about Beller she has had her baby.... but I will let her fill you in.

Hopefully will be about for most of the afternoon, so look forward to chatting.

Happy new year to all.

mixedmama · 02/01/2008 13:29

I have actually been using my TENS as the MW mentioned using it early could induce labour and since I am now late have given it ten mins a night for the last two nights on a very low setting. Really hoping it will help.

Naetha · 02/01/2008 15:05

Congratulations to Beller - I expect full details on babybel asap!!

I don't mean to whinge, but I am so bored, and I'm only 3 days overdue so far!!! People say you should plan something to do every day, but I can't really! I can't afford to get my hair done, get a pedicure/massage/facial etc, all my friends work or live too far away to meet for lunch, I could go to the cinema, but there's nothing on I particularly want to watch, and again nobody to go with during the day. I go for a walk most days (when it's not peeing it down or freezing cold), but other than that my time is taken up wasting time on the internet, watching crappy daytime TV (I'm gutted now that Property Ladder isn't being shown any more!), dozing, or reading for short periods of time. If I spend more than 20 minutes in the same position sat down bits of me start to fall asleep, and lying down just isn't an option!

Woe is me!!! Sorry to go on, but I didn't realise how quickly I'd get bored and uncomfortable!!
