clever girl susie Am now watching this thread! Hopefully with my unfortunate lack of sleep, commencement of maternity leave and being one of the last due, I will become more of a regular poster!

Good morning ladies and well done on the new thread Susie . Like the name.
Had quite a good night for a change. Maybe its because I know everything is ready for baby now.
Got a moany toddler to contend with today. Hes teething and has a cold and just pure snot fest. Dont think Ill bother getting dressed cause whatever I put on will be full of snot trails. Mmmm yum!
Well I hope you all have a good day and try to rest. xxxx

sabinar · 30/12/2007 11:05

good morning everyone Any new babies today? Yay! New thread - nice work girls.

am feeling much better today after a horrible headachey day yesterday - thanks for tips for treating it!

i had a great nights sleep last night so feeling all bright and bushy today and hope to get some more nesting activities completed. It's amazing how much nesting you can do when you put your mind to it - oh, and when you have a messy DH which kind of makes it two steps forward, one step back! (Although, I have to admit, he did do the washing up after cooking dinner last night so I'm not complaining!)

Still no sign of the LO, which I'm perfectly happy about - as long as I have good days like today I'm perfectly happy to keep on being pregnant for a couple more weeks. Too many days like yesterday and I think I'd want him out a little sooner - although no idea how I'd cope with him once out.

Anyone got big plans for NYE? I think we're going to play it by ear but chances are we'll keep it pretty quiet and just find a good vantage point to watch some fireworks and toast a pretty interesting year ahead!

makingnosense · 30/12/2007 11:46

Can I please join at this late stage? I'm a first timer due 24th and having a boy.
Sick of being so huge and knackered. Baby 3/5th's engaged at last midwife appointment and really hoping he puts in an early appearance. Best wishes to everyone waiting for their LO's, and huge congrats to those whose little sweethearts have already made their appearance.

gingemebells · 30/12/2007 11:46

Glad your feeling better today sabiner. We have no plans for NYE. Dh is on earlys so well probably see 12 oclock then go to bed.
Put lo to bed now. Hes been such a mis og this morning. Will be glad when he has all his teeth.
I have fat feet today and my fingers are slightly large too. Not doing much today though so will try to put my feet up if I can. x

gingemebells · 30/12/2007 11:47

Welcome makingnosense

makingnosense · 30/12/2007 11:55

thanks

gingemebells · 30/12/2007 11:58

Do you know the sex of your baby or are you keeping it as a surprise? How are you doing with your first pregnancy? Nosey arent I ?

gingemebells · 30/12/2007 12:00

Doh.....just read your having a boy thats pregnancy brain for ya

makingnosense · 30/12/2007 12:02

Having a boy. Been really healthy and well throughout the entire pregnancy. No sickness,or anything. Just at this late stage lack of sleep, aching hips, and just generally feeling huge and not being able to do things I normally do is annoying. Plus I want him in my arms to cuddle him already!! .

gingemebells · 30/12/2007 12:12

That sounds good for a first baby. Your very lucky to not have suffered with sickness. Do you have any names in mind?
Im expecting my 5th boy. And no were not trying anymore after this one
We have Adam as a name. I like nice easy names. You can see all my boys on my profile. My two big boys were here for Christmas and it was brill.

LuckySalem · 30/12/2007 12:15

Yey!! New thread!!

Welcome makingnonoise! Glad to have you aboard!
McDoodle - Congrats on the little one!
Sabinar - Glad to hear your having a better day today.

Am knackered today AGAIN! Also really peed off with DP's family! It's now nearly a week after xmas and we've not heard off them once in nearly 3 months (apart from a quick phonecall from his brother on xmas eve) I wouldn't mind but the only reason we heard from them 3 months ago is cos we went up there!! The whole time i've known DP (nearly 4 years) they've only been down here once, we have to go to them! It's not fair considering i'm about to drop!
(Yes I'm a wingeing bint today, but i'm tired and irritable so I don't care)

I want baby to come out now, had another late night with what must be braxton hicks or something, although I don't get a hard belly, just period pains.

Does anyone know if Lavendar is bad for you? I had a bath last night and used lavendar bath salts and a lavendar body scrub (xmas presents from parents) and am suddenly panicking! lol. Mind you LO is fine and booting me!

Hope all is ok with everyone and i'll stop wingeing now!

madmouse · 30/12/2007 12:15

Morning all

Susie, well done on the new thread!

Sabinar you are sounding all bushy tailed

Welcome makingnosense! Never too late to join.

Pussycatmoma - no i have no mice , something to do with a nick name, long story.

Gingeme, have a rest. My hands and feet are slowly starting to swell a bit too. I have had to relinquish my engagement ring, but my wedding ring still fits. As do my shoes, so that is good, they are a bit tighter though.

No plans here for NYE at all. I always find that weirder than no plans for Christmas, as NYE is quite a big thing in Holland with traditional treats (a sort of doughnut called 'Oliebol' with raisins that you make at home) and lots of friends. It is also by law the only night of the year you can set off fire works so there is always loads of that. (The rest of the year professionals can do it by licence).

Still no Beller, do you think she is having her baby? Looks like quite a few of you are getting ready. Weirdly, i feel i am, but it is far too early so i am putting it down to first timer impatience.

Have a nice day all!

madmouse · 30/12/2007 12:18

Hi Lucky, cross post!

lavender is good for you, certainly no problem for lo. Supposed to help you relax, is it not working?? (naughty )

Sorry your ILs are such a pain. I am sure they will be down like a shot when your lo arrives...

madmouse · 30/12/2007 12:19

If you had period pain and no hard belly it does not sound like braxton Hix!!!

mum2sons · 30/12/2007 12:20

Hallo!

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. Have been poorly with bronchitis.

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies! How wonderful! I must catch up on all the stories..

I am almost 38 weeks now and huge, v tired and also scared about going through labour again. The pool is in the garage (not much use there!) Not feeling ready yet as have too much to do!

Will try and catch up on everyones news!
xxx

LuckySalem · 30/12/2007 12:20

MM - Lol, NO!! I'm so naggy all the time! lol. I feel sorry for DP but have managed to keep it from him for now.
TBH, I don't care if we don't have to see his family at all, they're a pain in the arse with the evilest of kids so... (LUCKY YOU BITCH)

Bettymamma · 30/12/2007 12:22

Ladies - apologies for neglecting you.

Lola Dottie Stone put in an early appearance and was born 28.12.07 weighing 7lb12oz. She's absolutely gorgeous but constantly hungry! My poor boobs.

Birth was 5 hours long in a water pool with just gas and air. Lola was born back to back. Ouch! Its all a distant memory now .

How am I going to catch up on the past 2 weeks i don't know! Congrats to everyone else who's popped and good luck to everyone waiting.

Will write more soon.xxxxxx

LuckySalem · 30/12/2007 12:25

Bettymama - Congrats!! Hope you don't mind I kinda let them know cos you'd put it on Facebook... CONGRATULATIONS and what a lovely name

Bettymamma · 30/12/2007 12:28

I was hoping you did. We put the announcement on facebook from the hospital on my dh's blackberry! How sad. Trying to catchup but an overall 9 hours sleep in 2 days has turned my brain into mush!x

madmouse · 30/12/2007 12:37

Bettymama congratulations! 6 hours with an op baby, wow! Glad you made it in the pool.

gingemebells · 30/12/2007 12:44

Many congratulations Be7ttymamma. Arent water births fantastic ? 3 days early too. Good girl. Well done.
Makes me even more impatient now

makingnosense · 30/12/2007 13:11

A lovely water birth.. how great. Congrats!
With regard to names we have decided to call our LO 'Toby'. Have liked the name since I was quite young. Luckily DH likes it too.
