Just popping in to say hello and congratulations to those of you who have had your babies and good luck vibes to those of you still waiting.

I know how impatient you are all getting, so I hope it all happens soon for you.

Scary - congratulations, glad everything worked out for you

MoominMum · 06/02/2008 11:12

Huge congrats scaryhairycat! What a beautiful name!

Congrats also to Puppydogeyes and Seasidemama, don't worry, I too am a very lax mumsnetter but these guys always make me feel so welcome even when I haven't posted for months!

Could someone post a link to, or tell me how to get to the post natal thread? - I can't find it!

Many thanks, Moominmum.

lilyloo · 06/02/2008 12:35

PuppyDogEyes · 06/02/2008 14:06

Hi Ayrshire,

LO was 6lbs 10z. (forgive me for not posting his name, yet)
i had a slow progressing labour, the middle was quick, and the end was slow. i think from beginning to end about 27 hours.

that meant, consistent contractions forever, went into the bath for a few hours and then put on the tens.
quick middle bit meant i missed the opportunity for an epidural, as they thought he would come pretty quickly.
But he didn't as he was not lined up right and he was back to back.
so eventually (after much begging and pleading from me!!!) they decided to give me a helping hand, so spinal and forceps.

But i think baby's condition was more important than my plea for help, as his meconium poo had been coming out from when i had the show. so they had him monitored and finally when i was too tired, and he wasn't budging, got him out.
loads of Merconium apparently because the cord was squashed as it was wrapped his neck, shoulder and back.

i missed out on all the really yukky stuff i ws expecting, such as waters breaking (they could still be up there for all i know!), delivering placenta- they took it out and i felt nothing (with the spinal aneasthetic), pushed hard, but did't poo in labour!!¨

Don't want to scare you, the pain was bad, probably coz he was bak to back, but i have forgotten it all ready.
the spinal was amazing, when i got it. i felt nothing, and went for being a screaming banshee to a really, quite reasonable woman!
(my downstairs got a free shave too, in case i needed ceasarian)

About half way through, when i asked what pain relief i could have, i was expecting the response epidural, gas and air etc. but the response i got was PARACETAMOL. to which i snapped, i don't have a shitting headache! what the hell is that gonna do!! ok, fine! give it to me then! suppose my logic was, something was better than nothing!!!

(didn't want pethidine)

Varginal exams were more painful, for me, then contractions. i was trying to pull there hands out, as they were trying to get them in!!!!
thought Gas and air did nothing, but who knows really. made we woosy, not high.
i got pretty arsy will the MW by the end coz she was suggesting alternative theropies...i told her i need a ceasarian, not a flipping massage!

Anyway, thats the gist of it! hope i haven't bored you...
if it helps had my LO ater a MW appointment so fingers crossed so will you, but hopefully a quicker labour!

will have to go and check out the post natal thread...
look foward to hearing your story...

katyt1 · 06/02/2008 16:10

congrats pde & scary
and others i have missed? sorry.

grabbing a mo while in-laws collect ds1 and ds2 is asleep.

hope to see you over on the pn thread soon.

and best of luck to who's left? ronnie & lolo? come on babies!

ayrshirelolo · 06/02/2008 21:26

Congratulations Scary!!!!! gorgeous name, too!! hope you're ok, and look forward to hearing all the details, that must have been a bit scary for a while! anyway, welcome to your gorgeous daughter
Puppy thanks for posting your story, and no, you haven't scared me at all! My dd was back to back and i ended up with epi and forceps for her, so it sounds familiar in bits although i had a midwife who was a little more realistic about pain relief!! Can't believe they offered you paracetomol!
Hi Ronnie, just us then friend?? I've been posting on Feb thread too for a while, but i've kind of always known i'd be the one locking up and switching off the lights on this thread! But hey, the end is in sight!!
Had midwife appointment today, she did sweep and said everything is soft and anterior and about 2cm dilated but that baby's head not really exerting any pressure, so could go on for ever! She took pity on me though so she's booked me in for an induction on Tuesday if nothing's happened before that... so only another week of this nonsense to go (Zipedeedooda..... getting just the teensiest bit fed up with pregnancy now!!)
Anyway, feeling at least a little more positive that at least i've got a date now.... it was going to drag on till the end of next week otherwise!! you never know, maybe the sweep will have done something? Have to say didn't find it particularly uncomfortable, but baby been moving around a lot since! anyway, thanks for all the good labour vibes ladies, here's hoping my lazy baby takes note and gets a move on, dh gave the bump a good talking to last night, but he/she appears to be a little bit stubborn!! Anyway, fingers crossed girls.... lolo xx

ronnielane · 07/02/2008 10:05

Hello All you mummies that have been posting on here, its very nice to know that the few stragglers left are still getting support, thank you.

lolo my induction day is monday so the end for us both is near yipeeeee. I had a membrane sweep on monday and nothing not even a twinge tut this kid is like he father too comfortable to move and always late lol.

If I have missed congrats too anyone who have had their babies I am sorry so.
CONGRATULATIONS to all new mummies and hoping I will be joining you all very very soon. ahh well off for some rl tea

xxxx

lilyloo · 07/02/2008 14:00

hoping sweeps work ladies if not good luck for Mon and Tue !
If it any consolation i was term +13 and had to be induced was fine and she is on the whole now a really good baby and chilled out for most of the time so i guess she was just too chilled to bother making an entrance without any help

fluffymummy · 07/02/2008 18:31

Hi girls, just dropping in to say 'hi' and ask how you're getting on? Wishing the last of the stragglers all the best of luck - and sorry for abandoning you - I was convinced I would be the last one to leave the building!!

Lolo - hugs atcha...looking forward to seeing you on the Jan babies thread, even if its going to be a Feb birth...I mean, surely you're an honorary Jan baby anyway, aren't you?!

ayrshirelolo · 07/02/2008 21:31

Hiya all! Thaks for all the support, ladies, it's good to know we haven't been forgotten!! Ronnie glad we both have an end in sight soon! I've now been threatening bump, pointing out that it's being born on Tuesday anyway, so no point in being stubborn over the weekend, and might as well appear under his/her own steam first, but nothing to report again! Thought i might have been getting somewhere late last night, with a couple of cramps that took my breath away, but then it stopped again. Think this one is just comfy where it is! Anyway, thanks for the good wishes, ladies, and yes fluffy, i'll say hi on Jan thread as soon as i can! The feb ladies are keeping it as one anti/post natal thread until everyone has hatched, so i'll only have 2 threads to keep up with.... easy with 2 under 2!!!!! Meantime i've got rl tea to drink and a ball to bounce on!! lolo x

MoominMum · 07/02/2008 22:58

Thanx Lilyloo for the link - will go take a look, and best of luck ayrshirelolo and ronnielane! Moominmum.

ayrshirelolo · 08/02/2008 20:06

Hello!!!!! anybody there? is it just me left?? am i now officially the last?? Oh well, off to say hi to Feb ladies.... if you're there Ronnie hello! if you're off giving birth i hope it's all going well, and i look forward to your news soon! nothing happening here... why am i getting fed up typing that? lolo x

lilyloo · 08/02/2008 20:24

ronnielane · 09/02/2008 08:47

xxx

ayrshirelolo · 09/02/2008 10:20

Oh Ronnie, sending you sympathy vibes... and labour ones!!! Hope you're feeling a bit better today, just take it easy, ignore the phone and eat nice things! . I'm gonna talk dd for a wee wak to go and buy dh a valentine card for next week, as i've a feeling i might not manage to the shops again by myself before next thursday! i'm goig to buy us both some sweeties whilst there too and a crap gossip magazine to pass the time between now and Tuesday... who knew 2 or 3 days could be this long???? Take care, Ronnie... will check in later! ps... isn't it nice to have a whole thread to ourselves? lolo x

katyt1 · 09/02/2008 16:17

still waiting for you two to join us over in postnatal....

best induction wishes (if needed?) and speedy labour vibes to you both

MoominMum · 09/02/2008 16:20

Hey Ronnie and Lolo! Don't bother putting the kettle on, I'm just popping in to see how you're doing, but really have to fly. Enjoy the last few days (or hours - who knows?!) as best you can and loads of luck when the time comes. Love what you've done with the place btw!! Moominmum.

ronnielane · 09/02/2008 17:23

Thanks Lolo, Feeling good today only another 2 sleeps before induction, so sad arnt I ha ha. I ordered DH a card from moonpig for valentines day, they were reasonable and personalised. Hope you managed to get a nice card, and sweeties, I have loads of crap magazines, funny thing is it has stories about preganat celebrities in them tut, no getting away huh.

Katyt1 thanks for you labour and induction vibes, and moominmum was gonna make you a cuppa but only have rl tea which is no good for you now lol but thanks for checking in

Lolo. whats the saying saving best till last that must be why we are left, pmsl yeah right huh. will be check in a bit later everyone big hugs xx

ayrshirelolo · 09/02/2008 21:05

Ha, Ronnie, like the "saving the best till last" idea!!! Got an ok card for dh, and have had a nice day playing with dd and having a bit of an afternoon snooze! Then had to field a slightly annoying phone call from my mum... "are you really not feeling ANY contractions dear?? This baby's really taking it's time, isn't it?".... Grrrrrrr! but have resigned myself to induction on Tuesday so have stopped worrying about it!
Katy, ta for the vibes, friend!!! and Moominmum nice to see you, pity you can''t stay for tea and cake, but we'll be with you soon! I'll make sure i lock up and switch the lights off on on Monday night / Tuesday morning! Enjoy your last 2 sleeps Ronnie (ha! only 3 to go myself then get to sleep on my tummy!!! Yipeee!!! (sad, isn't it?? )lolo x

ronnielane · 09/02/2008 21:35

Oh god the idea of sleeping on my tummy again, bliss and comfort. I will make sure not to much to do for you in the way of clearing up ha ha. maybe catch ya tommorow who knows we could have good contractions today well heres hoping anyway. good night ladies xxx

MoominMum · 09/02/2008 21:45

SH*T! Am I supposed to stop drinking it?? [puts down cup and moves rl tea to back of cupboard]. Oops!

pussycatmomma · 09/02/2008 21:55

Hellloooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well this is the first chance I have had to come on to mn.
I have had my baby!!!! HURRAY!!!!!
I gave birth to the most beautiful little boy on Sunday 3rd February at 7.58pm,
Noah Gabriel Joseph, weighing 7lb 5oz.
The most miraculous experience I have ever been through, and I have been busy falling in love with him ever since the minute he came out.
We are absolutely blessed, and needless to say both myself and mr.pussycat are completely besotted with our little bundle.
My induction was horrendous, I went in Sat morning and didnt have him until Sunday evening. A long process, but so very very worth it.
I am completly loved up with him, and we are all doing well. I am extremely battered and bruised and still in quite a lot of pain but am thrilled to say I am Mummy to the most gorgeous baby that ever made it into the world!! Dh has exceeded every expectation I could ever have imagined and it is so lovely to see him with baby Noah, and watch him fall in love too. It takes my breath away to look at them both together.
Obviously I am very hormonal at the moment, but everything is peachy, I just wanted to come on and tell you all.
More again from me when I have a spare minute. I will attempt to go on the post natal thread next time.
Love, love, love to all,
from Pussycat and her new kitten xxxxxxxxxxxx

ayrshirelolo · 10/02/2008 05:57

Congratulations PCM!!!! what a lovely name too, welcome Noah! Just a quick message to say i've got contractions about every 6 mins so hope this is for real and not a false alarm... especially as i've just woken my mother up to say "come on down" to look after dd!! Fingers crossed..... lolo x

lilyloo · 10/02/2008 08:19

Congrats pcm see you over on pn thread soon
OOH Lolo hope this is it keep us posted and lot's of luck on meeting your lo today xx
