efmc · 03/02/2008 04:24

hello everyone! had my baby on 30th january (1 day early) at 3.18pm. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce, and we named him Ethan Andrew.

was quite traumatic as had meconium present, so ended up being induced for a super speedy delivery (which still lasted from 2.45am to 3.18pm). baby ended up being delivered by forceps, and i had a large bloodloss, so was only allowed out of hospital on 2nd february.

it's nice to be home!!!

scaryhairycat · 03/02/2008 09:23

CONGRATULATIONS betterhalf & efmc!( at the speed of that one!) Hope you are both fully recovered and enjoying your lo!
Big wave to everyone! This thread seems to have picked up a bit now, hurrah!
for your heartburn ayrshirelolo, must be horrible - maybe it means things are shifting though?
Walking seems to be a good one for getting things moving - I have found that I have to do quite a lot though. Walked into town and back with shopping yesterday and also had a 'bounce' - didn't do a lot for me either though at the time but I did wake up twice last night with a couple of strong period type pains, so something's warming up!

Juicylucytoo · 03/02/2008 11:43

bluebell82 · 03/02/2008 14:01

Hi scary, hope you're ok, yes i've been walking every day a bit, but weather so crap up here it's not easy to get out with dd much! Still nothing of note to report here, although still getting twinges from time to time!!
Bluebell she's gorgeous!! and all that hair!! my dd is 20 months old and doesn't have that much yet!!!
Juicylucytoo had a quick text from MrsMcJ about a week ago, she had a baby boy (yeah!!) but don't have any details really, as she hasn't been back on here since... imagine she's too busy!!
Anyway, still here... still pregnant, still bored with it!!! lolo x

MoominMum · 04/02/2008 07:38

Sorry - it's been ages since I checked in - wee Magnus arrived on 29th Dec, a week and 2 days early. Home birth went out the window as my BP was up, 11 and a half hours of labour, eventually a cut and ventuse required but managed the delivery on gas and air. Unfortunately placenta refused to separate so then ended up in theatre with an epi anyway!! He was a v dinky 5 lbs, 6.5 oz at birth - not underdeveloped they reckon as all in perfect proportion and a very strong wee customer - and is now 7 lbs, 6 oz, putting on about a bag of sugar a week at the mo and guzzling for Scotland!! He's a right wee monkey and me and Daddy are thrilled to bits. Had a talapase (heel bone not fully dropped) on right foot but this seems to have resolved itself with exercises and he has a small heart murmur but they've said it's v common and not to worry. Congrats to all the new Mummies, commiserations for those who've had a difficult time and best of luck to those still waiting to pop! Moominmum.

scaryhairycat · 04/02/2008 10:41

bluebell82 - she's gorgeous! Came over all emotional looking at those pics! Made me think about when I will meet my little girl!
CONGRATULATIONS to you, MoominMum! And well done for only managing on gas and air - I hope I'm that brave!
Sorry your having shtty weather ayrshirelolo*, perhaps you'll just have to bounce extra hard on your ball?
How's everyone today?
I'm still fine, although the odd random contraction woke me up a couple of times last night and the night before, not too painful (lasted about 30 seconds) - just uncomfortable. And a little bit more of the show came away (sorry!) last night too. Quite reassuring really, to know things are getting ready and the end is in sight.
Lots of positive labour vibes to all of us still left!xx

ayrshirelolo · 04/02/2008 10:53

COngratulations Moominmum!! Magnus is such a cool name too - dh has just said "very Viking" which it is!!! Hope you're recovering well too!!
Lilyloo (Katy, Susy and others... you know who you are!!!) thank you for popping back to say hi, it's a bit quiet on here now! And i think Scary and i feel we'll be the first women in history pregnant for ever!!!! it's nice tohave the support - thank you.

toomanyshoes · 04/02/2008 16:37

Hello ladies, have started a support thread for madmouse here

Juicylucytoo · 04/02/2008 19:09

Thanks for the update Ayrshirelolo

Do send her my love when you get the chance.

ronnielane · 04/02/2008 20:34

Hello Ladies

Sorry not been on today, but had a hetic day, been up hospital today apparently still have protein in urine so had yet another blood test tut. Midwife sa me today and done a, ahem examination anyway she said that I am 1 cm dilated and since she has interfeared I have had quite alot of show tmi, Midwife said that this is very good for a first baby. Was at the hospital to be monitered yet again and on the ecg for baby the uterus reading was going up to 35 every 10 mins but to be honest, i must be a bit thick because I have no pain or tightening and still not sure what to look out for!! Hoping things are going to get moving pretty sharpish.

Labour vibes for all of you and my thoughts are with you madmouse, and you will have LO home with you soon xxxx

MoominMum · 04/02/2008 21:16

thanks scaryhairycat - in truth I'd had gas and air before for dislocated shoulder and knew it suited me OK, and was a bit scared of the possible side effects/ implications of everything else!

Thanks too ayrshirelolo! His Daddy's a Viking berserker from Orkney!

Madmouse - our thoughts are with you - Magnus was a bit touch and go the first night (low weight, low sugar, low temp) and I felt so impotent - hope all goes well.

ayrshirelolo · 04/02/2008 21:55

Hiya Ronnie, Scary, anyone else left!!!!
Ronnie sounds like things are moving for you, hope it all happens quickly friend!
Twomanyshoes thanks for starting and letting us know about your thread for Madmouse, she's been such a brilliant support to us all on the Jan thread for so long, always so positive and helpful it would be good to send her some positive energy back.
Anyway, nothing to report here, still massive, bored, hacked off every time the phone rings, few random twinges but nothing exciting. Glad i'm on the feb thread too so i won't be left all alone!!
Sleep well everyone, lolo x

ronnielane · 05/02/2008 09:12

Big wave to all that are left

Still here so things are moving a bit slow, know when I go into labour I will not be ready and would have changed my mind lol, hope all you mums 2 be are getting nice big twinges. Horrible weather but going to brave going to do some shopping today.

Hope all are feeling well

xxx

lilyloo · 05/02/2008 16:18

Hi ladies still no news when are / were you all due ?

PuppyDogEyes · 05/02/2008 17:59

Hi Ladies

anyone still on here and overdue, i'm sending you best wishes and positive vibes!!

i was due 14th and had LO on 25th. just short of being induced and having refused a sweep 3 days earlier.

i was getting very impatient and i'm sure you are too! but it will happen, and probably when you least expect it or want it to start!

my labour started after a really long day, went to bed at midnight, rolled over and it started!! the next night at midnight i was still in labour and absolutely exhausted! LO arrived, with some help(!), just short of 4am.

thank god for the tens i hired. i basically used it all the way through, until they gave me a spinal and got him out with forceps!

i forgotten the pain, discomfort etc, and laughed about the stupid things i said the next day. in labour i swore, never again!, but i'm broody to be preg all over again, already!!!

midwives were trully amazing women! i take my hat off to them. but the Virginal Exams were the very worst thing about the labour, i found them very painful.

good luck to you and i hope you have speedy and safe labours.

PDE x

seasidemama · 05/02/2008 18:30

Just saying a quick hello, and a sorry for disappearing having said hello very briefly late last year!

Can LO and I come back despite our errant ways?

Huge congratulations to everyone not still waiting, and contraction-inducing-wishes for everyone who is...

ayrshirelolo · 05/02/2008 19:59

Hiya ladies!! Thank you for the positive vibes, i think i need them! This lo is well and truly comfy in there, i've got a midwife appointment tomorrow (40 + 6) but don't imagine she'll do much but tell me to go away for another week!
Hello puppydog and seasidemama, nice of you to pop in! Congratulations on your babies!!! Can we have some details please? Names, weights, stories.. you know the kind of thing! You might find the post natal thread a groovy place to hang out too, lots of familiar names there but i'm determined not to join in there too much until this baby makes an appearance!!!!!
Anyway, ronnie, how's it going? and hows you, scary? any news? nothing much to report, had a crap night with sciatica, took some paracetomol at 5ish, up at 8ish with dd, spent the morning walking miles round the shops and all i managed to do was make myself really knackered!! Went for a sleep this afternoon but still shattered so am going to try and get an early night (ha!!). Hope things are moving for you both, lolo xx

scaryhairycat · 05/02/2008 22:42

hi ladies, I am in hospital at the moment and just popping on to announce the birth of my beautiful daughter Nayasha Rura ln the early hours of this morning. (couldn't wait till I got home!) I was very lucky - it was an emc due to fetal distress caused by an impending rupture of my last cs scar - if I hadn't of gone in when I did i did i could have died All ok now though and will post story soon! xx
