The last message I posted seems to have filled up the old thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Since bump size was our last topic, I thought this might do for a thread title.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Rolf · 30/01/2008 19:48

Hope all the recent scans are going well.

LittleMy - you are in my thoughts. I hope you and your DH are as ok as can be expected and are getting plenty of support.

I was looking at my 20-week scan report and most of the measurements are plotted on a little graph in relation to the normal mean and 5th - 95th centile. However, there are two measurements which aren't plotted on the graph: nasal bone and nuchal fold thickness. Does anyone know why this is the case? I am getting paranoid that it's because I asked my consultant not to tell me about soft markers. Or is it that measuremnets for nasal bone and nuchal fold cease to be meaningful at this stage of pregnancy?

DD and I are both on antibiotics, DD for an ear infection and me for sinusitis. So we are both feeling very sorry for ourselves, and I'm exhausted. Is anyone here blooming yet or are we all a sorry mess of exhaustion and other grotty pregnancy symptoms?

debinaustria · 30/01/2008 20:20

Rolf - I know the nuchal fold measurement is only used as an indicator up to 13 weeks, don't know about the other one.
I am also paranoid that my baby is small according to the miserly 3 measurements that the dr did. Or that my dates are wrong and I'm actually due the following week which I've thought so all along.

Ernest - don't they have internet in Milan - or are you still travelling. Hope you got to see the baby in all it's glory and that the boys behaved themsleves

Sorry to hear about those with SPD - it sounds dreadful.

Glad to hear scans today went well

I think the next title should be creme egg related!! DH's plane has landed, watching on the webcam so my creme egg will be here in a n hour!!

gr1973 · 30/01/2008 20:30

oh having a massive craving for creme egg just now. may have to make do with sticky toffee pudding though.

GardenAngel - chuckling away at you struggling to run to the post office in a D cup (in a nice way obviously) as I sit here wondering if my F cup is starting to get a bit tight... (Have to confess that pre-pg I was a EE so am thankful not to have had massive boob growth spurts so far ).

debinaustria · 30/01/2008 20:33

I've gone from a B to a D (so far)

PregnantPenguin · 30/01/2008 20:55

Loving the messages everyone. Happy to realise that I am not the only exhausted cream egg fanatic here! I am using the excuse that it's the only soft egg yoke I'm allowed...

Seriously am stupidly tired - feel like a car that's rum out of petrol (and feeling the size of a car too).

It's really exciting to hear about all your scans, mine is not until next Thursday (20 week scan at 20 weeks?). Don't know if I'm scared or excited so trying not to worry about it until the day.

LittleMy - you are incredibly brave and selfless. Thinking of you.

Rolf · 30/01/2008 21:15

Thanks Deb.

You've all got me dreaming about Creme Eggs now

debinaustria · 30/01/2008 21:19

I wonder how much packaging you'd need around a creme egg to get it safely here? Dh was very limited with space so I think he's only bought me 2 - I know it's better than nothing but once I start it could be difficult to stop. Otherwise I have to wait until 1st March for SIL to arrive or ask some guests who come out in February - but they are complete strangers and might think it a bit weird that their host needs creme eggs.

goingfor3 · 30/01/2008 21:28

Debs my baby had four measurements taken at the 20 weeks scan, one for head circimference which was slightly smaller than average, one for BPD(some sort of head headband type measurement) which was lower on the graph than all of the other measurenets and both femur length and abdo circumference where above average, so not really in proportion but I did expect a small head, short leags and a fat belly so was suprised at the legs being a bit long! I asked about the small BPD today and the dr said it's a disregarded measurent these days and because the head, brain and face shape appear normal I should be to be thankful I'm not going to be giving birth to a baby with a huge head! So my baby seems big on some measurents and small on others!

gr1973 · 30/01/2008 21:28

Had my sticky toffee pudding with ice cream. Would have still preferred a creme egg though. Have I already 'fessed up to having runny eggs when I was in New York? Had some delicious eggs benedict. Was feeling a bit rebellious and huffy about all the 'dont eat this, dont drink that advice' we pregnant folk get and decided that the risk of salmonella from some eggs in a v nice restaurant was low . In my defence I had just put up with a week of 'caffiene causes miscarriage' hysteria from the US press. Which annoyed me no end as I've had two mc's and have never drunk a cup of coffee in my life.

Sorry - random diversion from creme egg chat. Wonder if I can persuade DH that it is a bonafide craving and send him to the garage.

gr1973 · 30/01/2008 21:34

Ooh, another random diversion - deb, I've just been having a nosy at your holiday website and it looks fab! Haven't considered a holiday to Austria before..

LittleMy34 · 30/01/2008 21:41

Don't want to bring anyone down, but it looks like DP and I have decided not to go ahead with the pregnancy - so I'm going to stop posting on here. I'll still be posting on my other post about the diagnosis if anyone wants to know what's happening though.

I wish you all the best of luck with your babies - and with the Creme Egg cravings!

Thanks a million for all your thoughts and support, you're a fab bunch of increasingly round ladies!

LittleMy

bitofadramaqueen · 30/01/2008 21:45

Oh littlemy, you're both so brave and my heart goes out to you. Take care and good luck with everything. I haven't seen your other post so if you were up to posting a link to it hear I'm sure I'm not the only one who will want to keep an eye on how you're doing.

It's gr1973 btw - have changed my name!

big hugs - hope you and DP taking care of each other.

LittleMy34 · 30/01/2008 22:05

debinaustria · 31/01/2008 06:14

Oh Littlemy, what a decision you have had to make, my heart goes out to you and your dh. You have been so brave , I wish you all the best for the future , it's been nice "knowing" you and I'll follow on the other thread to see how you get on.

Good luck

makecakesnotwar · 31/01/2008 08:06

Littlemy- like I said before, you have all m y love and support. Hope things go as smoothly as they can and know that I am thinking of yo and your family. Good luck and take care of yourself.

makecakesnotwar · 31/01/2008 08:09

Re: creme eggs, had such a desire for one smnt DH textto bring some home from work. He managed M&S Chocolate cheesecake, which was an excellent substitute, But have spent all night deperate for one...fortunately am going into London for work today so might even have one for breakfast!!!

Oh, and big boobs, you clearly have nothing on me....even gr1973. I was 36F before I got pregnant and am currently growing out of the 38G maternity bras. Pissed off because once I get bigger I can't buy cheap 2-packs in M&S or Mothercare any more!!!!

Oh, and morning all- 23 weeks today, hurrah!

goingfor3 · 31/01/2008 08:12

Littlemy, that must have been a really tough decision to come to and I hope everyone around you is giving you all of the support you deserve right now. What ever decsion you came to was going to be tough but you are doing what is right for you, your family and your baby. I'll be thinking about you littlemy.

debinaustria · 31/01/2008 08:12

Make cakes - WOW at your bust size 38G!!!!

Dh made it home from London last night with 8 creme eggs for me and a new watch. I was very happy to see him!!!!

basilbrush · 31/01/2008 08:55

Littlemy Obviously I've only just heard your story but I just want to say how awe-inspired by your courage. Wishing you and your family lots of luck and happiness for the future

xx

basilbrush · 31/01/2008 09:12

debs thank god your DH brought you creme eggs as I just about to find a site to send you some, so obvious is your need

For all my talk of choc fudge cake, I hate to say this but all I want is salty food and really shite salty food at that. My treat of late is a Birds Eye Potato waffle sandwich - so am convinced it's a DS2 in there as my cravings are same as last time. My DH got me some Burnt Sugar gourmet fudge for my bday 3 months ago and I've still barely touched it. He's beginning to think his usual wife has been abducted by aliens and replaced with a cylon (erm, any other BSG fans out there?)

makecakes I'm usually a 34DD and am now an F cup, respect to ya sista I am still wearing underwired bra in vain (literally) attempt to have some short of nice bustline. am i really bad? is everyone else in maternity bras?

*katyjo" am in Fife. love the shops in Glasgow though have to admit I am actually (whisper) English but have lived up here for 10 years so it definitely feels like home. And I ate haggis on Burn's NIght and everything

hi rolf I do hope I get to bloom sometime before my waters break but at the minute I feel pants with heartburn and a really sexy varicose vein and am only 21 weeks!!

damewashalot opposite prob for me, they're threatening elective C section at 38 weeks as had probs with DS size and placenta which evenutally abrupted in labour. Was really hoping to go for a VBAC but will be having growth scans at 30 and 34 weeks before a decision can be made

ktpie · 31/01/2008 09:27

Littlemy what a tough decision to have had to make. We will all be thinking about you.
xxxx

damewashalot · 31/01/2008 09:56

My word you lot talk a lot!

You can keep your cream eggs, I'm here longing foe a waffle sandwich now One of my personal favourite pg foods along with anything salty.

I'm growing out of the f/g cup bras I wore to bf last time, my boobs are out of control

Basil, that sounds scarey, with all of my early bleeding I really just want to get to the end and have a healthy baby but if it was smaller and I was less of a patchwork quilt afterwards I would be quite pleased At least if your section is planned you have time to get your head around it, my biggest problem with mine(ds2) was the lack of warnig. Hope it all works out for you.

Have many of you got spd? mine has kicked in really early this time so I'm struggling already oh well, I'm past half way

damewashalot · 31/01/2008 09:59

Littlemy, wasn't really sure what to say to you as I've never spoken to you but wanted to say that I hope things go as well as they can for you.

debinaustria · 31/01/2008 10:03

BB - Birds eye waffle sandwich - yuk!!!
With the boys I loved cottage cheese, straight out of the tub with a spoon, and also chunky kitkats with ds1(not together with the cottage cheese )I have to say my cravings vary daily apart from the obvious creme egg one. I really like some salty things too as well as chocolate so still no hints there as to the sex of this one.

But, and this is a bit tmi really, since moving to Austria we have noticed a dramatic increase in hair and nail growth - and much to my shame my facial hair too!!!!Good job it's fair and not dark, but since getting pregnant my tweezers have hardly been needed, and I don't need to shave my legs so much. Anyone got any theories here, obviously I'm hoping that you'll all rush to say - definite sign of a girl

calebsmum · 31/01/2008 10:12

Littlemy am so sorry you have to make such a heartbreaking decision.

I'm currently at home and recovering after having one of the most painful weeks ever! Got an infected nerve in one of my back molars and the dentist put me on antibiotics for 4 days before he would remove it to limit stress for the baby. Antibiotics didn't work, my face swelled up, couldn't eat or drink and had an emergency extraction yesterday. Look like a hamster and feel like i've been hit by a sledgehammer. DP had to take the whole week off work to look after DS as i've felt so ill.

Anyway enough of my whinging, baby is fine kicking like anything you can see my belly moving now which is great! DS will be 3 in 3 weeks so have a party to arrange and need to make a start on the nursery. Hope everyone is well.
