The last message I posted seems to have filled up the old thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Since bump size was our last topic, I thought this might do for a thread title.

OP posts:

Thanks all of you, you're being fab! But makecakes - any problems in pregnancy are always terrible to deal with, no matter what there are - there's bound to be someone in a worse position than us somewhere, so it's all relative, if you see what I mean.

And I feel so grateful to have our DS1, who is just fantastic in every way (except of course for being nearly two, which means tantrums and lots of No!)

So life isn't all bad - we just have to make a really tough decision, and there is no right decision. we just have to make one and stick with it and learn to live with it.

easier said than done!

ernest · 28/01/2008 18:42

really really sorry and don't envy you at all Thinking of you xx

Upsidedowncake · 28/01/2008 20:09

Oh Littlemy, I am so sorry that you have to go through this. Thank you for sharing it with us. xxx Upside

systemsaddict · 28/01/2008 20:10

Littlemy you are an amazing woman, the way you are handling this is so strong. I just wanted to echo what others have said, I'm sure whatever decision you make will be the right one for you and your family.

PiggyPenguin · 28/01/2008 20:18

Oh Littlemy, I am so sorry, what a horrible predicament to be in. Even if we can't offer much in the way of advice, at least we can support you in making this horrible decision.

debinaustria · 28/01/2008 20:43

Littlemy, I'm so glad that you also posted on pregnancy as you're received some really helpful responses.I hope they will help you to make your decision.

Take care

LittleMy34 · 28/01/2008 20:59

Thanks all for your thoughts - am trying not to think about it this evening as am hoping a night's sleep will help us get some perspective. Pizza and early night instead....

Thanks again for all your support - will post again when we've decided what to do.

good night x

poppy34 · 28/01/2008 21:08

Little my34 - I really feel for you. You're being very brave in what is the most hideous of circumstances. x

debinaustria · 29/01/2008 07:31

Littlemy - did you manage to sleep? I hope so. If you need anything we're here for you, well actually Ernest and myself are a bit far but you know what I mean!

Josie57 · 29/01/2008 10:07

Gosh it's quiet on here today.

We've got our twenty week scan tomorrow and I am half excited and half nervous. I want them to have a closer look at the amniotic banding that they picked up last time. Although having read up about it on the web I actually think it is amniotic sheets and not banding that we have which is less serious as it is unlikely to cause constriction of the feet or hands. I am also in two minds as to whether to find out the sex, I am feeling so indecisive about it and I really don't know why. At least I can blame it on the hormones!

debinaustria · 29/01/2008 10:48

Hi Josie

Good luck for tomorrow, I hope if you decide to find out the sex that your baby is more co-operative than mine!!

I think it's quiet on here because people are thinking about Littlemy and her situation.

needahand · 29/01/2008 11:00

Littlemy I am so sorry to hear your bad news. My heart really goes to you.

If I were in your position (and I am not saying or suggesting you should do what I would do, I am just trying to show you things under a different light), I wouldn't be able to go through the termination. I think I would always think "what if" and would feel like I gave up to early. I understand your concerns about putting you little son and your family through so much but my opinion is that we should "bear our load" however heavy it is as this is what shapes us as persons and makes us stronger. And I always find that when I tend to chooses the "easier option" (although none is really easy in your case), it comes back to bite me and the situation usually ends up worse.

Finally even loving and meeting you son for a short time is better than not? And there is 30% of success. I suppose I would try to hang on to that.

Whatever you are deciding, I wish you a lot of strength. As long as you reach the right decision for you it should be easier to live with the consequences.

Sorry I went on. May I just finish by saying that you are a brave brave woman.

needahand · 29/01/2008 11:06

makecake: I took thought I had the beginning of SPD. Went to see doctor yesterday and apparently it is a problem with the ligament supporting the muscles supporting the pelvis. Obviously not has bad as SPD but still need to see a physio and be very economic with my movements. If you are in pain don't wait to see doctor as these conditions tend to get worse with time.

I used to leave in Bromley until recently and am 20 weeks too...In another dimension perhaps we could have met. My scan is Friday thouhg so there has been some benefit in moving I suppose

Hello lovely ladies -

A very late addition to the thread but I hope I can still join? EDD is 10 June

There may one or two girls on here who remember me from last year. I had two m/c in 2007 and then when I got pg again in Sept I was a nervous wreck. We've been treading on eggshells as I had some bleeding but after scans at (wait for it) 7, 9, 11, 14 and 19 weeks, I am finally beginning to relax

DH banned me from MN and, I admit, I was unable to think of anything else and was a bag of nerves

Today though, Basil Brush is taking a stand and saying "I'm back! I'm 21 weeks today! I'm (hopefully) going to have a baby!"

For those of you who don't know me, I'm 29, have one DS who is two in a fortnight and I live in Sunny Scotland.

I would love to hear news of MrsMc and nh01 and her twins if anyone is up to date.

Hugs and slices of virtual chocolate fudge cake to everyone,
BB

basilbrush · 29/01/2008 12:58

Your bit was sachertorte

Josie57 · 29/01/2008 13:01

It's interesting to hear some of you talk about SPD. I didn't know what it was but I think I have been suffering from it. I think I had it quite chronically after the birth of my son but it gradually healed. But a few weeks ago it started up again which took me by surprise as I had thought the pain I had before was just a result of giving birth. Which it was but I didn't expect it to return again or at least not until after the birth again. How naive am I? Perhaps I am just an optimist! Anyway, should I talk to my doctor or my midwife about this? I guess I wannt to know what I can do to stop it getting worse as it is quite mild at the moment, usually just at night when I am tossing and turning in bed.

Josie57 · 29/01/2008 13:02

Forgot to say hello BB and welcome to the thread. Glad to hear you are starting to relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

debinaustria · 29/01/2008 13:02

I'll whisper this but I'm not a huge fan of Sachertorte - it's just not chocolatey enough for me!!!

basilbrush · 29/01/2008 13:14
