The last message I posted seems to have filled up the old thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Since bump size was our last topic, I thought this might do for a thread title.

Morning all.
Deb, if you get desperate for creme eggs, what about ebay? Have just looked and there are quite a few shipping from the UK.
Am going to have to have another one now.
I've also eaten runny eggs plenty - here's why - in the UK any egg with the lion symbol on it has already been tested for salmonella, so you can have a runny egg guilt free!
Also, if you want soft cheese (which I LOVE) then check the labels - lots of the French ones are pasteurised so you can eat them without worry.
The only thing I'm sticking to is not eating rare meat, raw seafood (eg oysters, sushi) or pate, but everything else is fair game imo, especially creme eggs

ChinaSurprise · 31/01/2008 10:19

Sorry - have just double checked. The lion means the entire flock from that supplier have been vaccinated against salmonella. Looks like Edwina Currie was good for something after all!

basilbrush · 31/01/2008 10:35

Girls - if anyone's remotely interested, have just posted pics of DS on my profile, some now and some of when he was tiny wee at birth.

I know I'm hardly the most objective critic but I think he's damn cute

calebsmum · 31/01/2008 10:55

Have also added some pictures including the scan picture! It's not that clear as she was kicking so much.

goingfor3 · 31/01/2008 10:55

calebsmum I feel your pain, a similar thing happened to me about a year ago and my eyes still well up at the thought of the pain! I saw an NHS dentist who hit all of my teeth with a heavy instrument to work out which one was causing me pain (it was the one which had a huge hole in due to a filling falling out!) and I jumped out of the chair in pain. He said it needed to come out so I went to a private dentist and £650 later I still have my teeth and a few fillings in other ones too. I really hope it gets better soon.

If anyone one is feeling run down, pretty much everyone I think then Floradix is a good tonic to take. I bought some this morning and am hoping I get a little energy back, three people whilst I was shopping this morning told me I looked awful so I thought I should de something about it. I did nearly cry the third time when I said ' I know and I still have four months to go'.

calebsmum · 31/01/2008 11:03

Am living on paracetamol at the moment, I also look awful, am swigging down lucozade and nibbling on some porridge at the mo. Am sure baby is alright but can't help worrying after all the paracetamol and the fact i've been so stressed past 5 days!

Goingfor3, it's lovely when people feel the need to point out how awful you look isn't it?!

ktpie · 31/01/2008 11:31

I find that they always say "Ooh you do look tired" whenever I am having a good day and feeling fine and fairly energetic!

GardenAngel4 · 31/01/2008 11:42

littlemy have just read your other thread and I feel quite teary myself. You are one brave lady. I hope you are blessed in other ways very soon. Seems like a good thread you are on so hope you continue to get support with them and from DH. Very big hug.

GardenAngel4 · 31/01/2008 11:43

Is it me or are Creme eggs smaller than they used to be?? two bites and their gone...those three for 99p offers are just a killer....!

aberdeenhiker · 31/01/2008 12:03

Hugs to LittleMy...

We just got back from a lovely vacation at the Crieff Hydro Hotel. DS had a fabulous time at the swimming pool and we really enjoyed ourselves as a family. I've never done the resort-type holiday before, we always camped or backpacked, but it really was wonderful for DS to have all the facilities there.

ChinaSurprise - I'm eating runny eggs too. It doesn't make sense to me that if the flocks are vaccinated, we can't eat them!

Deb, with DS I noticed a huge decrease in body hair too so maybe it's not a sign of a girl, sorry! But did you not notice this with your boys? Then maybe it is?

I'm so far behind, there's no way I'm going to be able to catch up - hope everyone's doing okay, especially those with SPD! I've got a bit of back pain but it's manageable and I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse.

Hi Aberdeen. Yes, I think so much of the advice is verging on the paranoia, or out of date.
Should we or shouldn't we eat peanuts? I have got to the point where I am just trusting my instincts and making sensible decisions. And not eating food a month past it's sell by date as I normally do
Calebsmum - sorry you're feeling so rotten. I do hope it passes soon
Debs - sadly if anything I have more body hair and scan says it's a girl, so I don't think you can link them.
Talking of girls vs boys, DH tells me when he was four he was invited to a bday party and insisted on wearing his older sis' pink frilly party dress. He just thought that was what you wore to parties and despite teasing wore it to the next one as well . He seems unnaturally proud of the fact!

Lazylou · 31/01/2008 12:45

Oooooh, I've missed so much! Hope everyone is doing ok.

LitleMy, sorry to hear your news, have been watching your other thread with interest and hope you get all the support and help you need

So, do any of you know whether your having boys or girls? We found out last Friday at our 22 week scan and we are having a boy! DH is tooo excited and keeps jumping up and down. He was convinced that DD was a boy and got quite a shock when she was born a girl. Things this time are much the same as when I was pg with DD so I was trying to prepare him just in case but no, turns out it's a boy. I cried when they told me lol!

Don't have any cravings, although I still really want to eat a prawn salad, but have managed to not so far, notm uch longer!

Has anybody started getting any 'bits' in for the LO? I can't wait to go shopping myself, but my BF has been bringing in tops and pyjamas in blue which has been really lovely. DH won't let me loose in the shops just yet but I have decided to sell on DD's bits so I can sneak out and do that shopping! Luckily we have kept all the major things, so it's just a case of bottles, nappies nd clothes really.

bitofadramaqueen · 31/01/2008 12:49

Just a quick post before I head off to buy my lunch (including creme egg obviously!).

I'm eating peanuts too - I have hayfever but DH has no allergies so I'm sure its fine. Glad other people been eating runny eggs - my eggs benedict last Sat was such a guilty pleasure...

Have got lots of 'bits' in for the LO Lazylou. We've got one of those Ikea wooden toy boxes (that we've had for years for some reason - now its going to fulfill its proper use!) and it's full of clothes and stuff. I cant stop shopping.

Oh, this post isn't that short after all... It's gr1973 btw - I'll update the list with my new name later.

goingfor3 · 31/01/2008 13:02

Debs I'm finding a new hair under my chin every evening and I'm having a girl. If I didn't pluck I could join a freak show circus!

aberdeenhiker · 31/01/2008 13:13

I'm eating peanuts and peanut butter - I think the warnings about peanuts are out of date - unless there's a nut allergy in your immediate family.

Hi everyone,

"littlemy" you are so brave, my thoughts are with you just now, I can't imagine how hard this decision has been for you.

"basilbrush" I was born in England too! Though ny nationality always confuses me a bit, I have lived here since I was 11, so 18 years and I have a Scottish accent. I usually consider my self British but if pushed Scottish, although I support England in the footie (unless against scotland)etc much to dh's horror

Sorry to hear about SPD sufferers, I hope the physio helps. You'll have to let us know the excercises.

Creme eggs sound good! Although I am craving mainly savoury food, BLT roll is my fav at the mo, I cut the fat off so it's probably not too bad!!

bitofadramaqueen · 31/01/2008 13:39

back again, with my creme egg. Mmmmmmmm. RE peanut allergy my understanding is that peanuts fine unless history of any kind of allergy with the parents.

For those that like to do their own research found this link www.nutrition.org.uk/upload/Peanut%20Allergy.doc

bitofadramaqueen · 31/01/2008 13:44

oh - makecakes, am feeling your pain re bras etc. It really annoys me that us well endowed girls have to pay so much for a decent fitting bra!

basilbrush - I very very reluctantly gave up the wire quite early on but I got a couple of quite decently fitting bras from bravissimo. Expensive, but they were worth it.

However, the bra-fitting woman did say that although badly fitting bras can do damage to your boobs/milk ducts/ligaments (whatever the reason we're not supposed to wear them) a well fitted bra with wire will be fine. The problem being that most women dont get fitted regularly. I do have an emergency wire bra for nice outfits that require decent shape and support though. Special occasions only though .

nh101andhertwinbeans · 31/01/2008 14:02

Lazylou - oh my goodness we have already bought both cots and have got loads of stuff given to us: blankets, cot sheets, so many clothes that we won't have to buy a thing, two baby bouncing chair thingies, two bath seats, a baby gym, a breast pump, steriliser. I have chosen the pram, too but haven't bought it yet (not that much choice with twins though actually so it was quite easy - Mountain Buggy!))

I am now on the hunt for cheap ISOFIX bases for the Maxi Cosi car seats. But need to choose a new car first to check the MC seats fit in. Might need to get Britax.

BTW I bought both cots on ebay - Mamas and Papas ones, one for £50 one for £40, they are like brand new. Bargain! Obviously as we are having twins we are trying to cut costs wherever and if we had had a singleton we probably would have bought everything new but my advice to anyone is just have a look on ebay cos you can get some really nice things (it seems to me that anyone with a M&P cot to sell probably spent loads of money on their baby and kept their stuff really nice!)

josey · 31/01/2008 14:49

Hello everyone, have been keeping up to date but just havent had the energy to post.

LittleMy really sorry about your news, hope things get better for you, good luck for the future xx

Ernest hope things work out for your DH and you DS

Those with SPD hoping that things dont get much worse.

Debs if your in need of cream eggs let me know I dont mind sending you a couple of boxes in a jiffybag, nothing owrse than an itch that cant be scratched

Have to say on the cream egg front I have some sitting in my cupboard untouched but the caramel eggs didnt last a second.

Im currently suffering from massive spasms in my right buttock which is very embarrassing in public and if I walk for any distance im having very painful stitches in my stomach from stretching ligaments. I was at the doc yesterday as I have a nasty growth thing on my back which turns out to be a skin fungus likely picked up in a swimming pool

Im totally fed up with people saying oh you look so much bigger than the last time I saw you well hello that is the point isnt it??

oldwives tales

josey · 31/01/2008 14:50

oops posted instead of preview, (oldwives tales) it includes something about hair growth those that know what you are having it might be a laugh to see if it works.

Upsidedowncake · 31/01/2008 14:53

Wow, NH101, you have so much stuff. We haven't bought anything as we have so much, though I have my eye on a P&T pram. What colour?

Make cakes , drama queen - so with you about the bras. I've gone for a 34FF to something in the H range, and I felt them growing again today! And good underwired bras are so expensive if you get them every time you change size!

China, Aberdeen and others, I agree with you about the food. I think we have to know what the risks are and make informed decisions. There are some obvious no-nos, and others like prawns, brie and eggs where the advice is aimed at the lowest common denominator. You only have to look at how the advice varies from country to country to know that health professionals are making judgements on our behalf.

All the creme egg talk sent me out on a creme egg mission yesterday. My first in about 10 years! Felt a bit guilty so I bought one for another pregnant friend of mine in the office!!!

nh101andhertwinbeans · 31/01/2008 14:56

Er, I have gone from an A to a B cup (and am well chuffed!)

aberdeenhiker · 31/01/2008 14:57

nh101, I have the single mountain buggy and it's wonderful!! We have heard nothing but good things about the twin version too so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've now walked over 2000 km with it since DS was born (19 months ago!) so we've more than got our money out of it. Unfortunately I think we're going to need a double buggy for this next baby as we live on a steep hill and we do a lot of walking that DS couldn't manage - so I think we're getting the phil and teds.

OP posts:
aberdeenhiker · 31/01/2008 14:58

and I've gone from an A to a D, same as last time. I hope I'm not going any bigger because it really doesn't feel like my chest anymore!
